The Volvo C40 may mark the very entry into the Volvo lineup here in Malaysia, but it's certainly not to be overlooked. With an all-electric powertrain making it the most powerful compact SUV in its class, plus all-wheel drive confidence and poise, the Volvo C40 promises much. But in a segment besieged by competition from all sides, be it luxury marques or mass-market ones, can the Volvo C40 stand out and more importantly, is this still a Volvo as we understand it to be?

3.10 - Errata: The Volvo C40 produces 408PS and 660Nm from its two motors, not 60Nm. The latter is about what you'd get from a cordless electric screwdriver.

I disagree with the increments of 5, then 10. It’s always been like this in Volvo, and this is just the saver way to handle. I notice this is the first time you drive a Volvo and don’t know so much about the brand.

Yes it is the first time we've driven a Volvo, except for all the Volvo's we've tested since 2018...

Yes, but it was the operation of the button that was being mentioned in the video if you cared to pay attention. The contention made by our editor was to do with press-and-hold vs. tapping the button, where the former used to control minute increments and the latter for larger speed increments. Our editor also, notably, has owned two Volvos himself.
