I learnt this trick and wanted to perform it at a party of a friend. I put effort into making the video and everything, even slightly upgraded the trick with a false shuffle and bridge, so it really looks like the deck is mixed and I have no control of the position of the cards whatsoever. And then, at the very beginning, my friend's friend who I showed the trick to said "If it's really not in your control give me the deck and let ME mix it." She screwed it all up, not respecting the rule to watch the trick first, she tried to debunk it right away. Somebody give me a virtual hug please.
Notice Teller seemsnto put the three at the bottom of the deck, but when he squares it, it's a different card. Love it XD. They don't do it in the explanation
This is an awesome way to do a trick. You could do it this way, and just substitute the VCR for a phone recording. But all you need to know is how to force a card on someone any way at all, and show them a recording you made previously.
The key to this trick is the convincing distraction between you pretending to mess up and the moment they lose interest and look at the TV they weren't watching what was on then you press play just before and look at the TV to change their attention to that I did this trick in front of about 8 of my stoned off pot friends they did a British version where you could rip record a famous newsreader beforehand showing the four of Hearts it wasn't even my house I just sneaked the tape into the VCR and hid the remote behind my back before they all came in and pretended I was just rolling a joint it worked a treat those stoned m************ thought I was a wizard it was hilarious I still don't think I've told them yet I might put it on Facebook right now this was 20 odd years ago and we're all still friends we don't smoke weed anymore we all did quite well despite smoking weed as teenagers I do wonder if they still think I'm a wizard I only ever did one magic trick leave them wanting more ha ha
1:06 I love how Teller says no, and they both just carry on as if he had said yes.
Teller really is a solid silent comic...
👍
Teller looks so young when he is wearing the hat
I dunno how to hook my vcr to the pc... oh well.
Amazing! When he shouted 'hallelujah' my toothache cleared up!

Then i would do something else
I'll never understand the people who refuse to let others have fun
Actually, now the hardest part of the trick is find a VHS
I've actually got a brand new sealed one lol
@@davemustaki134 never touched by human hands?
@@torma99 well yeah
dejavu@@torma99
Why is teller looking like a miniature Sheldon Cooper
He's only 3" shorter. Ironically, Teller played Amy Farrah Fowler's dad
@@amicarter8476 yaa man i remember thats bizarre
Penn's voice has changed so much over the years
I could never tell if Penn was really tall and Teller was average sized or if Teller was really short and Penn was average sized or a bit of both.
Penn is almost 2m
So yeah, the former
@@Shirokroete Teller is 5'9 which I believe is average, Penn is 6'7 which is very tall, haha
Teller looks so cute. :-D, like a kid!
Oh, this trick is even easier today with all the ways you can record video!
Always, always makes me smile

Teller kind of looks like Sheldon Cooper
Hey I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks that!
Maybe because he is teller's son in law xD
more like marty mcfly
Penn looks so different, yet teller looks exactly the same
Penn's hairstyle is always a victim of current fashion but Teller's the same the whole way through!
Always 3 of clubs
Such a great trick to fool your friends,so easy and fun
Does is work tho?
How is the quality of the video so good
Teller's voice has barely changed after all these decades.
3 of clubs is his favourite card he should use it less
LifesTooShort nice side effect: when you are watching P&T and someone picks the 3 of clubs, you know it was a forced pick.
It's an insider's joke.
The whole joke is that it's the same card all the time.
They’ve done multiple variations for the video punchline but all use the 3 of clubs I assume to keep consistency
Wadiyatalkinabeet
Wait how do you know for certain they've picked the 3 of clubs? If it were me I would probably pick the deck up and flick through before choosing one.
The real magic happens at 3:57.
Penn and teller's performance are real fun...
They did this trick again on Fool Us, that time said "use a dvd-recorder" or something like that. Damn, what will they say next?
Pen, hinting a card force by using the 3 of clubs for 40 years
This trick is actually cool. We actually can do card shuffle and keep controlling the card on top to improve the effecr
Penn looks very different in the past but Teller looks almost exactly the same
say yes to vhs
Did anyone do that?
6:05
griffin dunne?!!?!?!!!?!?
hahahahaha it is the easiest card trick
I knew the card was forced the moment i saw it was the 3 of clubs
Duh they do it as a joke ,I love that they just try to entertain and not fool
@@vileink4733 well yeah obviously

they did a British version where you could rip record a famous newsreader beforehand showing the four of Hearts it wasn't even my house I just sneaked the tape into the VCR and hid the remote behind my back before they all came in and pretended I was just rolling a joint
it worked a treat those stoned m************ thought I was a wizard it was hilarious I still don't think I've told them yet I might put it on Facebook right now this was 20 odd years ago and we're all still friends
