I like older age Penn voice better than this younger aged Penn voice. While he has the exact same words and way of talking, his voice doesn't carry the weight behind it that he has now, which is so much more impactful to listen to. He seems a lot less of a genuine Penn, even though when I imagine the voice he developed later, it seems 100% genuine Penn. So I think they had their act down to to every exact word, every verbal stumble, every body language all done by the time they did this act and haven't changed or at least no change more than maybe up to 5%. I feel like watching them here, is like if they were 10 years old, acting like they were the adults they are now or an AI generated "make them younger" of a modern recording of them doing these same performances.
I’m pretty sure Penn’s reverse mullet will catch on any day now. “ a party in the front. All business in the back” Seems like it sums up their whole career
26:45 Has this copyrighted 1985 for Community Television of Southern California. Love how all the guys in the audience were wearing ties. Also note the telecaster in the last trick was a well groomed Penn. He had the signature red painted fingernail on the ring finger of his left hand. That was started as a tribute to his mother, who said, if he was going to perform magic, he should always have well manicured hands. He painted his fingernails and said, "You mean like this?" He has always had that one fingernail painted. After his mother passed, his daughter says he does it for her.
Is a very old concept. Kind of like iconic representation of feelings that are universal. Something like that. Things all people can recognize the feeling it represents. I forget. lol
@@ELVIS1975T Actually, he said, "a mean way." He was setting up getting Teller angry. He was picking on him, screwing with the cards, etc. That was the justification of Teller stabbing him with the knife.
The audience laughs at really bizarre times during this. Penn is talking in detail about how to perform a complicated trick using absolutely no humour and the audience keeps laughing for some reason.
Great video! But this is not their first TV appearance as a double act. And in fact, as a trio, they appeared even much earlier (look it up, I'm not your historian...)
@M.RileyJunior semantics really, but you're right. However, Penn and Teller had appeared on TV as a double act prior to this. Listen though, great video and I'm really glad it was posted 👍🏻👍🏻
All these years and teller still sounds the same
If they ever do a final show I wanna hear Teller say one line at the end and that's it.
Penn really doesn't.
Oh wow. An original comment.

Brilliant then and have been since. Teller is one of the best card handlers in the biz and Penn is a supreme barker and showman.
I’m pretty sure Penn’s reverse mullet will catch on any day now.

Awesome.. you guys are something else.. Much Love
The ending was the cake.
Everybody is gangsta until Pen star rapping.
That ending is hilarious XD
It actually took him 2 minutes & 26* seconds to read Casey at the bat
It's strange seeing such an unpolished version of their cigarette sleight of hand trick.
this is sooooo entertaining!
5:45 sounds slike system of a down song "Sugar"
what do i feel what do i say, in the end it all goes away
UNREAL -LOVED IT

How did they do the tricks for the closing credits!?!!?
That middle part is punk rock AF
And the last one teller became the rapper
This is so early as Penn and Teller. This was when they still did MOFO and “By Buddha, this Duck is Sacred!”. Thank you so much for posting this

They would never fooled anyone on any others show
These 27 minutes felt like nothing.
6:52 did Penn just say meme...
He didn't say meme, he said "mime". Same pronunciation but different words.

laugh tracks were commonly added in syndicated TV shows because execs believed that people needed to know it was funny (also they hated silence).
Teller was more bald then than now in 2019 - 30 years ago lol
Lmao 3 of clubs
Ahhh, when the cocaine used to actually be cocaine
I love these guys

Typical american... just watch teller the whole time
People actually enjoy watching these two?
Dude , they got a show on Netflix and they perform in Las Vegas
Arguably two of the most famous magicians ever? Yeah I guess people don't mind them ;) They're INSANELY good at what they do
They’re the second richest magicians on the planet so, yes.
Yeah, get a sense of humour.
Of course!!! They’re the best!!!
