  • 24 hours after the Hunga Volcano Eruption on the 15 January 2022 at Kanokupolu Village. The tsunami rose 15m from the West coast destroying resorts and the beaches and agricultural land travelling eastward inundated Kanokupolu residential destroying livestock farms and houses 800m to the east coastline. The wave travelled 1,500m southward reaching Ha'avakatolo solar farm.

    Great footage. Ancient Village of Kanokupolu, the tsunami must have exposed some interesting historic sites. Malo 'e ngaue lahi.

      Thanks Paul. You are correct. We did discover tsunami boulders that were there long time ago. They were moved again by this tsunami. The largest was 12m wide and 5m high. They may be more waiting to be discovered.
