I liked this review but I still want to see the Strike and the Sting comparison. Both Scorpion line made by Hammer. They seem very similar to me in shape but I haven't seen anyone compare the two. Nice work Val. Keep it up.
Very smooth controlled bowler! You know your game & equipment well! When I started bowling in 80s, top balls were amf angle, columbia red dot & brunswick rhino which just came out of the factory! I guit bowling in 2012 & reactive was the ball of choice by any brand. Watching you bowl & hearing your assessment of the ball is qualified! Very good bowler! Aloha
I'd love to get the Hammer Effect. Its an homage ball to a video game franchise (unofficially) called Mass Effect .... that my wife makes! My entire league team are from the video game studio Bioware, except me. They were really jazzed when that ball was released.
Awesome comparison video! I can't wait until next weekend when I hopefully pick up my Effect from my PSO. If he drills it as well and pain free as he did my Trouble Maker Pearl, then I'm in for a great bowling experience.
Great video, Valerie! Love seeing the comparison between these balls, and have the Effect and the Hazmat Hybrid. I think the Widow 2.0 Hybrid is very close to the Hazmat Hybrid.
Thank you for doing this comparison, I have been contemplating these 2 balls but unsure what to get. My first ball out of the bag is the 3.0. Thank you
Nice video. I was thinking about getting the Effect or Vaporize. From some of the other videos I’ve seen it looks like the Vaporize might be a little more over under than the Effect. Good job.
I think the Zone core is a more agressive core at the back end. I've seen this from low-rev bowlers, anyhow, and it won't surprise me if strokers see that, too. Not so much perhaps for rev-dominant folks, unless they have a lot of axis rotation. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong [again].
Would you say that the biggest difference between a asymmetrical and symmetrical is how far left you can go? I ask because I have a Hazmat and I struggle with that ball. I changed the surface, I adjusted my speed, etc and I can’t get it to work for me at all. Yet, with my widow 2.0 hybrid I have success in the same exact spots that my hazmat struggles in. 21/22 in my average starting position and I feel comfortable throwing my 2.0 hybrid from there already out to 30. I stay right and try to bowl straight, or I move left I still struggle with my Hazmat. Aside from being symmetrical vs asymmetrical both the hazmat and 2.0 hybrid are similar balls, so I don’t why I can’t get figure it out
I do way better with the hybrids. Ok with pearl but solids they seem to go way too long for me and I have to bowl up the 15 no getting the ball out. If it goes out at all it continues in that direction
It really depends on what you’re bowling on. Have you put 1000 grit on the hazmat? It could be that it’s not grabbing the lane. Or have you moved farther right with it? Could be the pattern. Not every ball is supposed to be great on every pattern!
So the Effect to me is very niche so this just tells me to stay away from the Vaporize lol. i haven't really matched up with the effect i just put some surface on it and now it reads like 5 ft earlier lol
I agree the effect is niche! I believe the vaporize is more versatile, which is why I kept that one in my bag and left the effect at home while at the past 2 tournaments I’ve bowled. Still haven’t used it much though 😂
Bought an Effect to transition from the Widow 3.0. So far, it’s great on light conditions. But I can’t get it to flip when the lanes transition. Should I be playing more in the oil or stay where I left off with the Widow? Not are drilled about the same except the Widow had a 4.5 inch buffer while the Effect has a 5 inch buffer. Thanks in advance.
Yes, the effect has a much cleaner cover than the widow 3.0. My advice would be to maybe watch the surface video and use one of those pads to help it close the gap between the two, if you haven't already! th-cam.com/video/gWrvpJOBi1g/w-d-xo.htmlsi=qwSGgs2YJPJhEoMa
I really need that hammer effect, great video.
It’s a beautiful ball🤩

Thank you!
I won’t be able to do the strike and sting because I can’t get a sting now. I’m sorry!

Thanks so much!
Are you bowling again now? Or did you quit for good in 2012?

I am highly unaware of what's happening in the video game world but that sounds really cool!! The hammer effect is a ball worth getting though ;)

Fingers crossed!
@bowlwithVALue I did end up getting it. I've had a handful of 200+ games with it and am loving it. Pain free.

🙌🙌 thank you!
I believe mine are similar also. Just one is asymmetric and the other is symmetric. Slight differences!
Thank you for doing this comparison, I have been contemplating these 2 balls but unsure what to get.
My first ball out of the bag is the 3.0.
Thank you
My pleasure! Did you make a decision??
The 3.0 is a great first ball to go to

hmmm, maybe! I haven't tried it on much other than the house shot here at Sherman.
Thank you for your videos. Generally, what surface do you use in the Effect?
Good 3 ball arsenal
🙌

👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks for the info and I love the outfit.
Thank you!! 😄🇨🇦🇺🇸

Nice balls!🎳😂 All of them! Though I’m partial to the Hammer Effect 💪🏻!
🤣 I do really like the colors of the effect. It’s a gorgeous ball. I’ve become more partial to the vaporize though 🥰
@ what is the main difference between the two? I’d like to know what you think as I have heard this from others too.. thanks
I would've rather seen the Theorem than Hazmat
I probably would have too! Sorry about that. I didn’t have the theorem in my car at the time. I may include the theorem in a quick comparison soon!
