I concur. Couldn't start my day without this song as the first in the playlist in my car. It started when I was still in college man. Second fave will always be his Tokyo Trip. I wish Jack would release a physical copy of his Still On The Way album.
jack would blow those guys away, a different man, not like them, a much more refined musician, a truly finer talent, its a change, its better music, its like a whole new undiscovered bottle of wine, this man is in a different world of musical comprehension,. we all need to grow with this guy, he has a new drift of musical talent, a very enjoyable flavor and feeling, a very welcome change,.......
I don't know what other guitar player is playing, they just keep shredding on without soul, just to show skill. This song is melodic and impressive as well, different part of the song gives you a different feel. thumbs up
they are not much yet but he is not the only one to privilege feelings rather than technique (like in the "good old days") like Plini, Mateus Asato, Nick Johnston, ..
Jack's song compositions set him apart from most other world class guitarists. It's one thing to be able to shred, but to also have the ability to compose great songs is the mark of a musical genius.
Man what a kick of nostalgia! I used to listen to this as a teenager, now I'm a grown-ass man. Forgot about it but suddenly found it on recommendation and bang had all the flashbacks. Damn we're getting old.
Heard this back in 2009 or 2010 when I was just starting to get into guitar playing. Still one of my favorite guitar instrumentals to this day. So much soul and emotion.
How could anyone not like this? Maybe not everyone will "love it" but how could anyone actively dislike it and thumbs down it?! What's not to like? It's just good music!
wow.. he deserved to win guitar idol.. strong melody, cool progressions,no stupid and excessive virtuosity, technique, fleetness, and most of all : SOUL. Great Job
the truth to being a real guitarist is not about how good you are but it's about the feeling of the song you play and for your own enjoyment and to share this enjoyment and feeling to others not to show off so don't feel discouraged when you see someone who's better than you and younger than you instead you should appreciate them for sharing emotions blended into a single song like this. Other guitarists would truly appreciate this
I From Brazil..my mane is George...!!
I just love this song. "On The Way" is my everydays alarm clock. It's so uplifting and lets you start your day with positive energy, but it's yet relaxing at the same time. Try it out!
My god I cant believe I found this again! To think this was over a decade ago is insane. I was teenager just getting into guitar playing when I first heard this. Oh the memories.
I remember when I first heard this song, it was in March 2009. It reminds me of my last year in school. Good memories when nothing worried, and I just wanted to learn this amazing solo.🥲
I was about to say. I remember this from my time at uni where I started to really get into playing guitar. That was like 2009-2010. Attempting to play parts back then taught me a few things that's still in my guitar dna.
Great phrasing, tastefully played, nice tone, no over use of the trem, and I can tell you're having a hell of a good time. Great work. Too many of us forget we wanted to start playing, and loved it, because it is fun and cathartic. Never forget that. It was a pleasure to hear you play.
Jack, Jack, You are the bomb...Love the way you play, you give your audience so much excitement with your passion of playing exquisitely...Bravissimo!!!!
where the hell did those 180 thumbs downers come from, planet pancake!!!... this guy jack thammarat is among the best on the planet and this track is fantastic.Brill.
Hi Jack. I've been enjoying your videos for some time. Your technique and precision are beyond question but what I really love about your playing is your sense of melody and song composition. Which is why I keep returning to your videos for enjoyment and inspiration. Keep up the great work!
I totally agree, Mike. Just found out about this guy and he's amazing. I'm going to be buying his CD along with the guitar tabs the second I get paid in a week or so. I usually hate guys like Satriani, because they seem to just want to either play really bizarre sounding stuff or play as fast as they can, not really being concerned with melody.
jorge andres castro I know what you are saying, but there is a difference that is important to recognize. They use the same notes, but the intervals are all different.
Drums are from a click track. It's not about the rhythm section, it's about Jack's insane ability to play. Much of Satriani's studio work is with drum click tracks as well.
Scott Grant ...And about the sound of the song i guess for us viewers. I think what Drak meant was that the song would sound better with better sounding drums. But wow, Jack can really play man.
The COMPOSITION is the most important thing. I can listen to this song all day because the writing is amazing and I love the song. Compared to a band that has put no effort into the arrangement and composition but have amazing production; this would still sound 10x better.
Jack is in the ranks with the great guitarists. The technique is flawless and the sound is perfect. The musicality is super, as if the sound is water poured from a pitcher, completely fluid and connected, with that flawless technique! Absolutely GREAT work with the composition.
man, your notes and bends are like arrows that struck every heart... goddamn it... by just your guitar you can make someone feel better... i'm searching all over youtube for this kind of guitarist...
Outstanding !! Melodic with some very tasteful bursts of well articulated speed. Not shred for shred sake. I love it when a musician has the discipline to play with restraint and the sensibility and chops to step out a bit at the right moments. Great tone too. Brilliant playing!!
i dont know when it started going down, but really enjoyed the time I learn playing guitar from jamtrack central artists, including JT, around 2012 to 2015. JT was very productive writing songs then. Waiting for him to release new song was so exciting. I really admire him. the Tokyo Trip song, which i heard first time in 2011 if not mistaken, pushed me very much into learning guitar. And more i listen to JT afterward.
Hi everyone! Hope you are doing very well and safe.

Nostalgic...Even after all these years, this song remains on top of most of music today. Absolutely Legendary.
I concur. Couldn't start my day without this song as the first in the playlist in my car. It started when I was still in college man. Second fave will always be his Tokyo Trip. I wish Jack would release a physical copy of his Still On The Way album.
Thank god i am not the only one
Totally agree with you. Lot of memories from when I was learning this at least 8 years ago. Fantastic
13 years later and I'm still blown away by this masterpiece, the melody, the chords and arrangement, the tone... simply amazing!
Wow Are you one of those who first listened to this song back in 2009?
@@paultvshow yes!
Jack Thammarat deserves a Joe Satriani invite on G3 Tour. He plays effortless and so clean. But especially his music is great.
jack would blow those guys away, a different man, not like them, a much more refined musician, a truly finer talent, its a change, its better music, its like a whole new undiscovered bottle of wine, this man is in a different world of musical comprehension,. we all need to grow with this guy, he has a new drift of musical talent, a very enjoyable flavor and feeling, a very welcome change,.......
@@43loudman Get out of his arse lmao he has 1 good song not the back catalogue of the legends at G3 Jesus Christ hahahah
@@Henryguitar95 While I agree with u about Jack. Leave. Christ out of this. When exasperated. Say Sh*t intead of dissing the Redeemer.
Probably Satriani would be embarrassed 😞🤷🏽♂️
Hes better than Joe
I don't know what other guitar player is playing, they just keep shredding on without soul, just to show skill. This song is melodic and impressive as well, different part of the song gives you a different feel. thumbs up
yeah i agree with you men
i always play it on my road trip. feel great, even i cant play like this at all.
Yee Ler listen to blues?

Totally agree with you.

Better than Satriani and Vai!

I hear this instrument when i was 13 years old . and now i 20 years old . in this year 2018 . i can't move on to hear this instrument.
Man what a kick of nostalgia! I used to listen to this as a teenager, now I'm a grown-ass man. Forgot about it but suddenly found it on recommendation and bang had all the flashbacks. Damn we're getting old.
Like how every note belongs, he truly knows how to make the guitar talk
Heard this back in 2009 or 2010 when I was just starting to get into guitar playing. Still one of my favorite guitar instrumentals to this day. So much soul and emotion.
aarongtr180 how are you doing now?
Same!
If you guys like this kind of music, try to listen to Manhattan by Eric Johnson you might like it
How could anyone not like this? Maybe not everyone will "love it" but how could anyone actively dislike it and thumbs down it?! What's not to like? It's just good music!
This song deserves so much more than it has received. It certainly deserved to win the competition.
this piece is gold, won the 2009 guitar competition and still imprevise, when things are done with quiality last forever
Are you kidding me? I just found out about this unbelievable guitarist today? WTF? My mind is blown. What an amazing talent!

It's so uplifting and lets you start your day with positive energy, but it's yet relaxing at the same time.

i love how great guitarists look like they get free while playing guitar, they look like they're telling a story and they can keep telling it forever.
This gives me life during depression
Just watched this guy passionately shred this song in L3 Manila, Awesome tone and what a performer!
probably my most favorite composition from the legend Jack Thammarat, its like a wonderful story!
Amazing tone and feeling!
i turn this up when i'm driving...great cruising song.. ..awesome!
I'll never be the best, but I'll never be the worst either. Mad props to this shredding genius

Just found this one. Jack was pretty young here. But plays like a wise old man.
very very good! It sounds like a merge between satch and e.johnson!!!
Congratulations for your composition and your very clean techique
Beauty comes in many forms. Who cares what the guy looks like - he emits a much stronger emotion through his music. Well-played.
This song takes you on a journey that is endless like his playing. Simply beautiful!!
Fantastic!

drums are a little over powering? but, you are my hero... wow, if i could play like that i could give up my day job... hahahahahahahaa
I get the impression this piece is not in B minor but D major. Anyone else get that?
D major :)
It's D Mixolydian
B minor and D major use the same notes, it's kinda the same thing, just depends on your feel of the song
B minor is the 6th of D major
jorge andres castro I know what you are saying, but there is a difference that is important to recognize. They use the same notes, but the intervals are all different.

...and all those notes all fit in the right place!...this is more than talent..this is a gift!
Love the guitar, hate the drums. Drums sound like they were recorded in a small kitchen and they do not do this song justice.
Drums are from a click track. It's not about the rhythm section, it's about Jack's insane ability to play. Much of Satriani's studio work is with drum click tracks as well.

Yeah the best Mr. Thammarat God bless you.
this is the best example of the different between music and guitar playing. Jack is definitely beyond being a guitarist. He's a "musician".
I never get tired of listening this. Quite a talent.
