Tekken 8 slowed down because they broke the game , destroyed the matchmaking system and snuck a fight pass in that was 80% Tekken 7 customizations that were free lmao. I know games naturally slow down after release but there was hate everywhere at the time.

It didn’t slow down more than usual. Only the super hardcore fans care about battle pass. The main thing holding the game back are modes (team battle, infinite rematches, practice mode in lobbies and tournament mode) and lackluster dlc. T8 has a lot of new players and casual appeal. Hopefully, T8 is shielded from any Namco executive interference. T9 on the other hand 🤷🏾♂️
I, sadly but not regretably, have been telling everyone i know not to buy tekken 8, despite believing its a great game. Its honestly one of my fav games of all time and I find it more fun than tekken 7. It is just sadly the case that Bandai Namco is a scumbag company that does not deserve a penny. They, sadly, deserve to go bankrupt. I hope they do and when they do they sell tekken to a better company. However I am willing to lose tekken if it means Bamco goes under. They are by far my least fav gaming company out there.
I hate to see Tekken pay for their decisions but at least they'll think twice next time when they try this kind of bullshit.
@@filthyjones6150 that's unfair and unrealistic. The way you hurt these practices is not to buy dlc or battle pass. They keep track of their sells. Namco is a behemoth company. They'll lose money if something doesn't sell. They'll straighten up if they lose enough money

Just started the video and the base of the discourse is actually REALLY wrong, blue protocol was never meant to be similar to genshin, it was announced and shown 2 years before the first trailer for genshin came out and its goal was being an mmo not a gacha, gacha mechanics in the game come from the Japanese market and what they like in mmos, and genshin looking similar to blue protocol is actually what gave it a head start since genshin day one biggest publicity was “play this while you wait for bp”
Pretty sure Genshin's biggest day 1 publicity was "wow this game ripped off Breath of the Wild."
Yeah and now we are gonna face consequences of their stupid actions, This company gonna drag down Tekken and Tekken Devs only because of incompetence of higher ups.

This is why Bandai Namco is going towards ESG to take that ESG loan to defer loses. This will have disastrous effect on Tekken franchise as well as all of their other games.

I wish I could sit down with all devs and scream in their faces "SEX SELLS" just increase the level of fanservice in all your games by a lot and you will make hella money, it's really that simple
skimpy outfits/bikinis, larger assets and outside of sex appeal fanservice, give the fans things they want like new game modes and features.
So what was Dead or Alive's downfall ? Genuine question, it had the whole fan service on lock but never could hold a solid player base like other popular fighting games.

@@StramSaturdayDBDBDIB it's downfall was going against said identity lol. DoA6 was pushed as a more censored entry due to "evo core values" and shit like that. Add onto this how it dumbed down the gameplay and nearly everything about the game in comparison to 5 and fail of DoA6 is obvious

9/60 battle pass items were for characters. If they think theyre losing money on tekken, its their fault. They are out of touch and wont make things people actually want to buy, and then throw the one thing they DO want in a PACK
Thank you I really think the tekken community needs to step it up and make them notice that the fanbase isn’t happy.
They could hired modders and even characters designers to design such outfits.

It does need clarifying that Blue Protocol wasn't really meant to be a Genshin Impact copycat. It was meant to tap into the anime fans audience (which is a big overlap with Genshin obviously) but a clear difference is that Blue Protocol is an mmo whereas Genshin is a gacha game. It's important to note that Bandai Namco failed to make a good MMO due to incompetance, it's not like they failed to sell anime waifu JPEGs.
Tekken 8 sales slow down badly because the game hype died quickly, because of all the poor decision bamco made with the game. I don’t think T8 will sell nearly the amount of copies t7 sold.

The weirdest part about Bandai embracing DEI is they already were very inclusive. They added tons of characters that came from different regions and nationality, way before anyone had a problem. It wasn’t their main focus just good ideas. Them focusing on trying to be more inclusive is just gonna make characters they release feel watered down and people think it wasn’t their original plan to have them what they are. Pretty dumb decision
Basically, they’re going to sell outfits and battle passes in their stores to get their money back.

Bandai to me with Tekken 8 just solidified it as the Japanese EA or its on the level of Capcom Greed cause they just milk everything and not even in stuff that is interesting or new every single costume is a port from Tekken 7 or Tag2 they have not made a single new costume since launch. Combine the greed with the terrible handling of online Servers and no rage quit penalty which fosters a terrible Rank system which the system is terrible with the pluggers, combine those issues with the new bugs such as the certain characters having combos that make people Disconnect such as Asuka and Alisa and frankly Bandai gets what it deserves. It’s a damn shame as well cause I was so hyped for Tekken 8 but it continues to disappoint me.
I can only imagine the disappointment the ghost of Masaya Nakamura feels right now.

Why do people forget Bandai Namco has Elden Ring which is far more profitable than milking Tekken 8?
They only publish Elder Ring, and as per their contract FromSoftware gets a much bigger share than BNamco.
Not really. Tekken has fortnite levels of potential, they just won't make enough/anything actually cool.
Elden ring doesn't have the monetization potential like that, and the player base itself isn't the type to buy into that stuff.
Except that they will not have continual DLC and live service for it. All companies are chasing that live service money tap.

I just realized that I made a great mistake buying Tekken 8 ultimate edition at launch on steam. They rewarded almost nothing for the deluxe or ultimate edition, except for some stupid avatar thing and the free access to the contents of 1st season pass, which turned out to be nothing of interest to me (as i play none of the dlc characters it featured, i.e., Eddy, Lidia, Heihachi). And above all, they added microtransactions in the form of Tekken shop and battle passes, which I still consider greedy and scummy to this date. It's really disappointing and quite a bad experience for me. So, I'll never buy any games at launch in future. I'll just wait for, like a year, to see how the game turns out. And I'll definitely see the reviews, ratings, critical receptions, etc. before purchasing from now on.

@@BluahGhaa Yeah.. kind of. But they never did something like this before. I bought Tekken 7 after they added the last DLC, that is Lidia. So I bought the whole game with all DLCs and never regretted my decision. After liking Tekken 7, I thought Tekken 8 would also be good. So I decided to buy Tekken 8 as soon as it launched, and I regretted it after a few days of buying. They were slowly becoming greedy since Tekken 7, but in Tekken 8 they just crossed the line. I wish I had known Bamco would do this. I would have just bought the base game instead.

You really do conflate a lot of topics in order to make a video. You can't be plugged into the MMO genre if you think Blue Protocol was suppose to hook the Genshin crowd. It was just an MMO like Throne and Liberty, Lost Ark, and New World. A lot of publishers hopped back on the MMO space and got reminded why nobody really does MMO's anymore. I was playing Lost Ark at the time a MMO and people were interested in Blue Protocol. If Genshin Impact was what they wanted to play they literally could have just played Genshin Impact.

This game ISNT genshin impact or any gacha game, infact - Blue protocol was announced in Dec 8 2022 at the game awards and catered to the MMO type of players... So like trying to calling it a " Genshin Impact killer " is wrong. I think you never played an actually gacha game than Genshin just because it's showing so bad in this video. " But its anime-like game , so therefore it counts." Would probably be your answer - You're comparing a dead MMO game to a Game like Sparking Zero when its a revitalize version of the DragonBall Budokai games that released in the early 2000s.. such a garbage video man and it shows you're a tourist. It's unfortunate that Tekken is suffering because of all this. Bamco is quickly becoming my least favorite company on the same level as the rest of the companies using dei. If they end up getting greedy with DB Sparking Zero and inject dei in that I'm gonna refund it and never support them again.

I play every day and I encounter this several times, sometimes a dozen or so times, it's a daily occurrence. Although I may be prejudiced, I can finally buy a wooden Lidia or a swimsuit for Avatar 🦧
