The tri bikes were also in the moon buggy chase scene from the James Bond Diamonds are Forever
The best description of Pertwee's Doctor I've heard is 'He's an anti-authoritarian authority figure'.
David Tennant was the first Doctor younger than me. It's a process. ;)
I always thought the jug looked like a bong as well 😂
The images of the first and second Doctor aren't in the Dalek's data base - their mind analysis machine is forcing him to remember his past to confirm it is the same individual.
2:50 _"There has been a drop in recent production figures"_ - There's nothing new in the Whoniverse. They were clearly obsessed about ratings even back then ;)
Dalek monthly KPI figures..god, sounded like meetings I've had at work. Dalek managers.
The use of images of the first two Doctors was only the second time a previous Doctor had been glimpsed on screen in one of his successors’ stories, and as the first occasion had been in Power of the Daleks part 1, just after the first regeneration, I am not sure it fully counts. Up until this point the show had not dwelt much on its past at all, but this little callback marks the start of a change in that attitude.
The bike chase is a little silly, but I think it was something Pertwee was determined to include as he loved new-fangled gadgets and means of transport. I agree that the conversation between the Doctor and the Controller is a highlight of the episode, as the Doctor chips away at the Controller’s facade and provokes his conscience. I think a better word to describe the third Doctor is “patrician”; he is very much anti-establishment, but carries himself in a grand way (Hartnell did so as well to an extent, but I think Pertwee does so even more).
The only other time that comes to mind is the Doctor showing Zoe the Daleks at the end of Wheel, and the Doctor showing the Time Lords who he's been fighting in The War Games.
Tuesday of the Daleks!! 😉
Notice the experimental reprise of the sting in the recap. This wasn't repeated after this story. Unfortunately because the effects have been redone, they've removed a really neat transition where the howlaround effects on the interrogation screen merge directly into the end credits. Really not a fan of this remade edition.
Can't remember, but are the gratuitous 'knicker' shots edited out in this version? lol
Gratuitous 🤔 That Katy didn't know? Or, the Director didn't stop.....🤫
@@jonathanmurphy3141 indeed 🤣
