Oh ! You guys definitely need to get this moving under its own power then try it in the water ! This is the kind of things we love ! This project is very cool so please keep going with the next two or more if necessary but don’t stop until it’s even painted, this could be your back woods and swamp search buggy 👍👍👍
I'd love to see these 3 Genies from the beet bottle actually tell ppl what the hell they R working on... Polaris made the their MUD DUCK we had one on our farm cost $4,000 back in 1973 but it was a twin stick on gunwhale to port and one side of the driver and it sat 6 very comfortably. The back 2 seats had the engine dog house. The engine was a 4cly inline I think it was 4Cyl Ford motor... I could be wrong but it was this bright metallic red color like a boat would be. It was much much larger than that one they have. Ours did have a steel underneath for mounting a transmission and twin props, My dad and uncle talked about it all the time. Ours did run & drive and floated... The sticks turned the wheels was how directional control was made/
I say continue now that it will run (that's the hard part) chains are easy to make and the most expense will be tires. Start with 4 (one each corner) if you're nervous about it. These are generally collectable and if it will run and drive and float...you won't take a loss of money and probably make a nice profit if you sell it. Thanks for sharing this one (I'm a small engine guy and restore old and oddball karts and bikes)
My grandfather had one, he owned a car repair shop and junkyard, it was 18 acres of car's back in the 30s through the 70s. I will never forget the time he took me in the water with it, I was around 7 years old. There was a TV show back then called "the banana splits" they had one as well. Edit: I'm now in my late 60 s. It was a great time to be alive back then. It was called an Artic cat. Git er dun boys.
Your filming technique is spot on. Nice long shots, non static, close ups, lovely colours and quality. Very professionally done. Well done to you all. You all make an excellent team. As ive said before your reaching out across the world. Your voices and videos are playing in peoples houses across the globe. Thankyou from London. UK. 🎉
Well, we've all sat and watched it this far so I guess I for one would like to see the project be taken to the next step of making it all work. THEN try to float it. It's a fun project, but probably not a money maker. Sometimes you just have to do a project for fun and to gain knowledge. This could be one of them.
Maybe film the process, then edit the whole thing in a way that makes the restorer's seem like they had a plan before they started the restoration. IMHO!
I like the way you talk to each other and handle each other. There's no arrogance or trying to be above the other person like there is on a lot of the restoration channels. And you're not trying to be "funny" or special; just getting on with it the best you can.
The funny thing is, just a week ago I was reading about these vehicles. These are from the the early days and are part of what led to the modern Side by Side. Needs a full clean and restoration, there are countably few left.
I originally started following Shawn after I saw him in Josh's mud buggy adventure video. Only rule was bring a car turned into a 4x4. And Greta was definitely the most unique ride in the group
I enjoyed watching this video. It’s fun to watch both of you guys figure out what steps to take next. I would like to see this vehicle drive from lane onto a body of water.
Another awesome video guys.cant wait to see the little buggy bouncing around.keep up the fantastic work.take care.GOD bless you all 🙏 John from England
I’m new to the channel and wow I love what you stand for and love to see family work together that is awesome y’all vibe is awesome Wyatt and lance and Christian bring peace to a chaotic world by doing the lords work Thank you for this channel 😊
Well, I'd like to see it run now that you've got us hooked, but I really like seeing you work on cars, trucks, and tractors. It is always fun to see an engine run again after years of rust though!
@Mustie1 did one of these years ago and retrofitted a different engine. These are well worth the efforts.. looking forward to seeing more of this project 😀
You guys decide to scrap the build, I'll be glad to finish it. Next time you come to Shanks, bring it. I live shortly down the road. Love watching you and your dad.
I would say go for it guys. Have done a awesome job so far runs and sounds great. Buy a roll of chain and make your own for the awesome ride. Love the show and don't miss a episode 👍👍. You guys and gals do a great job.
Looking forward to Part 2 through completion. Getting these running and working again, at least one of 'em would be fun, and probably worth your while. A vehicle like that would work well in many parts of the country, including where I'm at, in the salt marshes of Virginia's Lower Eastern Shore.
This is a strange one for sure. I'd like to see you make it run, float and operate again. Doesn't have to be pretty, just working. Plus it would be fun to see Christian's face on camera driving this thing into water at full speed. She don't need to know you already tested and made sure it was safe.
I demo’ed one of these brand new when they first came out. If I remember it had a JLO or a HIRTH single cylinder 2 stroke. It struggled to turn on hard ground and ran very hot.
Hard to tell from watching a video but that looks like #50 roller chain. You can get it at Purvis in Paris or Mt Pleasant. Just take a piece of the old chain with you and they will be able to match it. The sprockets should have a part number on them as well. It would be something like 50B13. The first number is the series of chain, B is the hub style and the last number is the number of teeth. If you find the correct series of chain, you can order a roll on Amazon
Guys everything is not just cars and trucks , working on everything including boats and amphibious craft makes a well-rounded mechanic , that you guys are already there.. now you just sharpening your skills love your channel !!!! Joe USN 75
I'm looking forward to you guys moving ahead with this project. I think the "fun factor" will be fairly high with these ATVs - and once the first one is running and moving, the second one may be easier to work on.
As a kid from the 70s i remember these big time ,,Was something that the kids from parents who had money would buy ,,was always in love with these ! Great find and u got 2 ! Well kind of ,,lol
Well, I don't think that it would cost that much to get the chains back on it. If that part does work, then decide if you want to go further. These will just be toys for your own pleasure. If it were me. I think that I would spend as much as $500.pp on it. You know you could get that for it if you did get it working and decide not to keep it. BTW. I really don't care what you guys are working on, I am going to watch the video. If it interest you then it will probably interest me. God Bless
I see a keeper here. Fingers crossed with the transmission. Some fiber glass patch where needed. A Jeff Barron camo paint job with spray paint. You got yourself a fishing platform for running through the wood trails.👍😁
Nice work! What seemed a rusted together basket case was slowly trimmed down one issue at a time. You guys went much further into the restoration in one episode than I figured you could without a lot of replacement parts. Tube the tires - chains, bearings and seals next!
The jet pump makes it worth working on. It looks like fun and someone will buy it from you and properly restore it if you don't want to do it all.. A video or two of getting it driving and swimming would be a good video piece with wide appeal.
Yeppers a nother great video guys! I would love to see y'all get this babe back to full send! I hope y'all continue with this swamp buggy! Truly enjoy your family and your videos!!💪😎👊
These are so cool! Awesome delivery, love Gretta, and those Hustlers are definitely worthy of a restoration, well one anyway, look like much fun, keep up the great content guys!
Had or should I say? My father was given a terrain tiger 6x6 in the late 60's because the original owner flipped while driving in a terraced cornfield and didn't keep the power up and it slid backwards and he over reacted, punched the gas causing it to flip over landing on both of them breaking her shoulder and his forearm! The centrifugal clutch can be MOFO going up hill underpowered! But it was a hoot in the winter especially after Fox River froze over! Hell we even hunted out of it for pheasant in the test corn the Quaker Oats Company left standing during the winter in N. Barrington at Kelsey Rd & Rt. 14 that tiger could go anywhere! It was badass! Great Find!
That's the first one I have seen with a jet pump for water use. Smartest idea anyone could have come up with on one of those things. Go for it. I'm sure you will find lots of leaks... axle shafts etc when you hit the water, but it will be worth it. Those things are worth a lot in running condition if you can even find one. At least that is the case around here.
hi from UK, get some tyres + chains bought ! that thing will leak like a sieve, but it doesn't matter, plenty of fun on dry land, leave the waterproofing to the next owner keep up the good work boys + girls
Just came across this video. These old hustlers are awesome. If I remember correctly that is actually a jacuzzi brand jet from the factory. I want to say that's JLO two-cylinder two-stroke. It definitely makes these old behemoths move. I'll definitely be on the lookout if there are other parts to the series. Great video by the way.
I had an ATV back in the 60s/70s. It was called the Scrambler. It was a lot of fun and my kids loved it. The trans went bad, couldn't find parts for it because it was a prototype.. They made many different ones in Elkhart, Indiana, my home town.
How about putting the chains end to end then measuring and adding a couple more links? It might help. I love watching you make things work! Good luck and stay well!
Love it, saw one back when I was in High School around 1973. Very cool then, great seeing the insides now to know what it looks like. I'd say keep going, ok it runs. Now will it "WORK or FLOAT"????
I've wanted one of these since i was a kid. Would definitely like to see a restoration, more over I would love to see one converted to hydraulic drive as i was never fond of all the chains! I'm sure you can see why after dealing with the mess they cause. Can you imagine how much better this machine would be at everything with a hydraulic drive? Thanks for the video, fun stuff!
I'm 62, I raced a Attex 6x6 when I was 16. That's a borg wanner trans. If it's low on fluid it takes auto trans fluid. On top on both sides where the cables are is the shifter. Forward and back, middle is neutral. The chain you can get form the farm store. Mine had 50, yours looked like 40. Mine ran 60 mph with a 440 twin. Good luck. 👍
@Zach Churchill that's cool. Mine was a 400 twin, then we put the 440 in and moved up a class racing. My first one was Terra Tiger 295cc. All my motors were Rockwell 2 cycles. What's your 550? One guy in the open class had a 850 3 cylinder, it was fast. I raced here in Illinois. If you go on TH-cam you can find some racing from Ohio.
So that's too funny that I'm 62 also I watched The Banana Splits two of them were the Scramblers and three of them were a text I watched them a long time ago and that's when I saw the first one and I got lucky and got the Super Chief I still have two more Max also I live Southern California so I use them to duck hunt
@Zach Churchill right now I got a Max that I 50 dollars for. It's all apart, so I got a snowmobile for the motor and a transmission out of Hustler. Going try to put it all together and bring it back to life. It's been nice hearing from someone that knows about them. Right now I have a utv and my wife and girls have 4 wheelers and we go mudding at mud parks. Have a good new year.
You really need to take it to the next phase and get that machine back on the road and in the water. Great progress so far but don’t leave us hanging 😁😁
Great video. If you don’t want to spend too much, soak the chains in vinegar for a few days and then oil them up. Then you can patch the chains together with a few links, just try them out for strength.
Definitely restore at least one of them. They are a all purpose ATV , land and water. Not much ground clearance for serious off road but a pasture down to a pond or creek .
Looking forward seeing more videos on to these vechiles and enjoy more on them to RESTORE Crew :) lots fun having too ! Teaching all 3 people plus with new skills too and very good information to!
Love to see more on this. Love these sort of restorations. Even if is updating everything with modern parts and drivetrain. Im open to any of it. Old or new
Love the videos guys - feel like I am there with you! It would be great if you would finish the restoration of this fascinating vehicle. To be honest I wll be disappointed if you don't! Keep the content coming please - loving it. Best Regrads, Peter, Chester UK.
You were absolutely correct when you took the top layer off. The engine and torque converter are the same style as a Snowmobile. (I know, you are in Texas! 😂). I don't recognize that from any old sleds I have seen, but it looks like it is from the sixties. It may be a Sachs? The tire treads are backwards. (I know, getting ahead of myself). Spray the rubber trim with Armour All. It may help soften it up. Just thought I would mention these things while I was thinking of them. The jet drive looks interesting! I can't wait to see how they have that hooked up. I hope you can free everything up, that is a really cool looking machine!
What an amazing project. Once I drove with one of these with friends, what blast. The used a Suzuki water cooled 600cc. Good luck and don’t give up.😊❤🎉
You should definitely restore this it'll help the community who works on these amphibious vehicles and show us a way to do it so we can do it ourselves
I think you will have to get floating with these. Just image Christian at the front with her camera! Very good when you've got it all set up!. Thanks guys...Cheers from the UK.
Oh ! You guys definitely need to get this moving under its own power then try it in the water ! This is the kind of things we love ! Yes please finish getting it running! Fix the tires, let’s see you guys in it in the water!
Most definitely restore. To get running after only spending $100 is a blessing!
I'd love to see a part 2 to this episode!
I'm especially interested to see how that jet pump works, and whether it actually is usable in the water.
I'd love to see these 3 Genies from the beet bottle actually tell ppl what the hell they R working on... No chain here no chain there. Like a long boring bondage movie...

Appreciate the support, thanks for watching!!
It takes time to fix things it hasn't been run for quite a while I think you're doing a great job like to see them done
Definitely get it all mechanically functioning. I'd love to see it go with that little jet pump!
One of my favorite channels, and by far one of my most favorite revivals! Hope to see a series on this one!
Beautiful boat ! First time to see one like that ! And of course love to see it fully restored again ! Thank you all .
Would love to see y’all riding this thing 🙏🏻....Awesome job so far 👍🏻

They are very fun to operate ,can't wait to see this one completed and moving. 👍

You guys take on the seemingly impossible challenges!
I would love to see you guys save this one and do a full build on it!! It would be well worth it
Really nice to just watch you working with your Dad. Great projects and successful efforts.
Yeah I'd love to see them running

100%! Please get this old gem moving. I remember seeing these running around once and a while when I was a kid!
I’m hoping to see more on this project nicely done though

I love the brotherhood of," I'm happy to pass on something you need to build your dream!"
Man you guys are surely not afraid of a challenge, cause this is a big one ... looking forward to a part II
Definitely want to see you get this fully functional again!
Be awsome to see you guys running around a lake or pond on it
Looking forward to Part 2 through completion. Getting these running and working again, at least one of 'em would be fun, and probably worth your while. A vehicle like that would work well in many parts of the country, including where I'm at, in the salt marshes of Virginia's Lower Eastern Shore.
LETS SEE MORE! WOULD LOVE TO WATCH YOU GUYS TAKE THIS PROJECT ALL THE WAY TO COMPLETION.
You guys are awesome! God Bless!
Please restore this beautiful machine there’s a lot of potential in the ol girl!! Loving the content guys keep up the great work ❤

Snowmobile engines are typically pretty well made, while I'd like to see you guys move forward with these machines that might be easier said than done
I'm looking forward to you guys moving ahead with this project. I think the "fun factor" will be fairly high with these ATVs - and once the first one is running and moving, the second one may be easier to work on.
You gotta get them both working and cleaned up. Get em running and wet sand the bodies to make em pop you’ll flip em quick
As a kid from the 70s i remember these big time ,,Was something that the kids from parents who had money would buy ,,was always in love with these ! Great find and u got 2 ! Well kind of ,,lol

That was a fun one. If you want to flip, i bet the guys at Bikes & Beards would Love a project like them. Ty for taking us along
This thing deserves a complete restoration. New belts, chains, tires, rust protection on the frame, etc. Maybe even some upgrades.
Nice! I would love to see this thing in full working condition. When I was a kid my neighbor had one of these. What a blast it was to ride in!
Can't wait to see this progress to the next step! 100.00 was awesome deal..fully restored value $$$
At least that is the case around here.
hi from UK, get some tyres + chains bought !
that thing will leak like a sieve, but it doesn't matter, plenty of fun on dry land, leave the waterproofing to the next owner
keep up the good work boys + girls
I love these Hustler 6X6 ATVS. They’re so darn cute and adorable
Just came across this video. These old hustlers are awesome. If I remember correctly that is actually a jacuzzi brand jet from the factory. I want to say that's JLO two-cylinder two-stroke. Great job getting it running! Yes I say go for it, all in! Let's see these in their former glory.
You guys are awesome. You need to finish this thing. Didn't know there were any 6x6s that were jet propelled in the water.
I have a Max II 6x6.
How about putting the chains end to end then measuring and adding a couple more links? It might help. I love watching you make things work! Good luck and stay well!
Did this ever get finished? I would love to see the finished product.
Cool project! Also like seeing those 2 Rowe R93's in your shop. Brings back lots of memories for this jukebox guy
Definitely keep going to a fuller Restore! Replace the chains and tires. You haven't spent anything yet beyond the initial $100! Very fun project!👍👍👍
You guys with your relaxed nature are going to give me a nervous breakdown lol. It's like therapy, keep up the good work!
Awesome episode you guys have got to do 2 or 3 more get that little hustler
Cherry. Can have a lot of fun with one of those.
RESTORE! RESTORE! RESTORE! Please! Those would be some great videos! Entertaining AND informative!
Those things are a blast. Definitely get them going. You will enjoy them
Love it, saw one back when I was in High School around 1973. Very cool then, great seeing the insides now to know what it looks like. I'd say keep going, ok it runs. Now will it "WORK or FLOAT"????
My dad had one of these! We had a blast with it, its fatal flaw was it would break those thin axles sometimes
Great job guys! Nice to see something different and unique getting work done on it. I want one to run around in the river on
I've wanted one of these since i was a kid.
I am loving the classic juke boxes in the background. I would love to have one of those one of these days.
Keep going on this guys they would be great in the summer.
Please continue with this project. Would love to this up and running with the jet drive in the water.

Love to see more on this. Love these sort of restorations. Even if is updating everything with modern parts and drivetrain. Im open to any of it. Old or new
100% up for seeing this restored and back in the water
You have to finish these. They are awesome. Another great video.
Hope you guys keep on working on the ATV'S. To see it going in the yard.
"Well now we"ll never know how much fuel is in it!" Great video
I think you will have to get floating with these. Just image Christian at the front with her camera! Very good when you've got it all set up!. Thanks guys...Cheers from the UK.
Love to see it running and what it will do in the water
