David Brenner doesn’t get remembered as he should. He was a huge star back in the day.

86 and 87 were classic Letterman... my favorite timeframe.

Man I miss letterman especially the early letterman. It's so wonderful that so much of this is posted, Cause he did so damn Many shows that I don't think I could tell whether there were new ones or not.

2 genuine eye rolls in the first 3 minutes and then ending with such a creative last letter. Letterman was such a mixed bag.
Sandman! Showtime At at The Apollo would come on after Saturday Night Live for my entire upbringing and was quite surprised when I found out that it wasn’t a national thing.
I'd actually like to see that Sandman performance again. Paul and the band did a killer "Take The 'A' Train" to accompany him. If Dave's people are reading this (and if they are, hi!), make it happen. :)

Speaking of Las Vegas, I would love to see the clip where Dave told the "I've got gambling money" joke. Bonus points for a supercut of every time he repeated the punchline after that.

5:16 5:17 Dave opens the door twice. You don’t the second one was recorded, do you?
his jacket was also half off for the first door opening but fully on for the second one. got to love a good recorded skit however. Dave is the king!
Yeah! Dave and his team always pre-recorded a lot of things so that everything came out smoothly. If they hadn't, then nothing would have come off as smoothly as this did.
