- Durians galore! its durian season in Singapore!
Named the smelliest fruit in the world, you definitely can smell it in the air lol
But most south east asians such as me love the taste of them! Its like eating creamy custard with a kick. Very unique and complex taste that is impossible to get anywhere else. That is why its fondly known as the king of fruits to us.
But the price of durian is not cheap so eating them is a delicacy. Many durians shops are quite aggressive and aren't very honest so we must watch out for those.
In This video we bring you guys around how is it like at a durian stall in a neighborhood part of Singapore.
We filmed this at The Durian Tree which is one of the trusted and honest durian stall in Singapore. The queue for durians was snaking long!

1. "Eww, this is absolutely horrendous"

I’m western, and I love durians!! I understand there are over 200 varieties?! So crazy! I have some durian in my freezer right now (I know, would be best fresh, but I’m in USA so have to get what I can)!

From the US, never had durian but it looks delicious. I drool everytime I watch a durian video. Dying to know what it tastes like.
It tastes like potato, with a sweet and nutty finish. It has the taste and smell of an oil leak, which sounds disgusting but is actually very good and addictive

Currently durian season in malaysia..how do we know most street sell durian😁or our backyard..durian fall ripe🤣need to fight with wild pig,monkey,or fox they also like it..
As a non-durian eater, i must say that the durian did not taste as bad as i thought it would, it is actually quite tasty. Hehe! 😁

You have to try by your self. Hate it or love it. No in between. For the lover like me...this is a fruit from heaven. But for the oposite this smell like a hell. This fruit is not only in Singapore but you can find in all the south east asia country such as Indonesia, malaysia and thailand.

Many viewers are upset about the title. The title just means the it is a season for eating durian in Singapore. It doesn't mean it is the harvesting durian season in Singapore.
Totally agreed Sir..but.I think there are several Singaporean businessman behind this Durian industry. State government better check the land title of any orchards in Johor, Pahang and Penang..May be they use Malay owner as a proxy..

@@SuccessforLifester Cannot deny the sad feeling...However, I believe Forest Dept or Pahang state Government have no choice but to take stern action against those who are involved in illegal activities according to Malaysian Laws.. Even though the exploitation of natural resources in the forest reserved has taken place since the 1970s, destroying these trees are meant to stop any expansion of land size for illegal farming. Also, as a lesson learned to these people for not violating any laws in the future.
@@marukisan According to the farmers , they said they got paperwork from the colonial days that gave them the rights to harvest. Also the court actually allowed the farmers to continue to harvest until a settlement could be reached. The state government acted against the court order

Malaysia after Independent will use a Grant or Land Title as a legitimate document of ownership. Those understanding made before independent is considered obsolete...

Not long till durian season in my country and by the time I'm watching this, I'm just waiting to taste some more because last year sellers couldn't sell durians due to Covid19 so maybe this year I'll get the chance to eat it again!

I have only seen Anthony Bourdain eat durian and he said it was absolutely awesome but smelled like really bad ass with a capital B, lol. I couldn't get passed the smell!!

Vacuum pack is not to prevent durian smell from escaping. Smell is always there. The packing is so that it won't smell the whole car, bus or mrt,.....

It’s really an Asian thing , here in The Netherlands we hardly see them. People complain about the smell to much. Chinatown has it but thats about it.

almost all durian sold in Singapore is imported from Malaysia Indonesia and Thailand
i never see any thai durian before , heard they are always pluck premature
not premature, but picked when already matured but not ripe yet. when harvested that way the durian has not fully developed its flavour.

First time I ever tasted it (and I’m over 50) a year ago, I loved it, and I’ve spent TOO MUCH for more and more!
It’s not an acquired taste for everyone, luckily not me, but it’s good for people to know if they don’t like it when they try it, each durian tastes different-even pods from the same durian can taste a bit different from each other! The texture and smell are wonderful to me. I love it!
