That's a cute record player! I'm finding that the joy of playing records isn't really the sound quality; it feels like a "performance" and I really enjoy it, clicks, pops, and all. Thanks for sharing this.
The narrator of that Disneyland record sounds like Hal Smith, who played Otis, the town drunk, on "The Andy Griffith Show" and who also did a lot of voiceover work.
Now bare with me on this question. Im not a vyn guy. But does the lower end record players really damage your records? Im a streaming guy with a few CD'S but i really enjoy this channel. I get so tired of the audio snobs on some of the other channels. This channel lets a guy learn something and relax at the same time. Keep up the awesome work.
Many years ago (2019 or 2020) after watching Record-ology's review of this LP & No.1 Christmas-themed record player, I bought the same red one and then one with a winter blue pattern which was on sale for a price I couldn't refuse, so I scooped up the blue one too. They are adequate at best, but they are fun to see and use during the Christmas season. :)
So Cool , a lot of the old records are to do with nostalgia and the memories of having them as a kid. I found the Christmas record that my sister and I had as kids , a orange 33 record made by a company called LF not the best quality but so cool playing on my 1964 radiogram ❤. Still Loving your shows here in New Zealand, a Very Blessed Christmas to You & your Family 🎄❤️.
12th August 2024. You got to love the way we can use the same language and get different meanings from it. Cell, Mobile. Valve, Tube. Spanner, Wrench. etc. sorry not having a go. Love your videos. Have a Great Christmas and I hope Farther Christmas brings you what you want. ( Santa Claus) Love from Me and my Wife. to you and your family.❤
My new "Christmas Record Player" is a 1963 Packard Bell stereo with a push pull 6BQ5 stereo amp and Garrard AT6 changer. Yes this changer can use a magnetic cartridge with a preamp. Really happy, been looking for one of these for a long time. It shakes the walls.
The Christmas player was out and gone already when I started using suitcase players. But if I find one somewhere in good condition, I'm getting it. Too bad they haven't brought out a newer version of it. By the way, you can get a 78 stylus for it at LP gear. Seasons greetings 🎄
I see that Victrola makes a red suitcase player, and a red 1950s style player. Done stickers/stencils/creativity someone could make their own Christmas player!
That reminds me of my first record player. I was 10 when I got my first real stereo for Christmas. It was like a right of passage in our house. The first album that I owned was Elton John’s Greatest Hits. Funny how a video about a little Christmas record player can spark such a wonderful memory! Thank you for that!!! Your content touched people in more ways than you know!!
Thanks buddy Merry Christmas my phone still works for the internet but my house internet is down along with my cable so I've just been playing a lot of records and watching your show hopefully I can fix my internet tomorrow
I grew up with Cheap record players. Back then, they were all rim drive. No belt. Not direct. The main issue with cheap record players are the use of piezoelectric cartridges. The material goes bad with age and moisture, more so than magnetic cartridges. Yes, the magnetic cartridges require an additional preamp to work. That is extra parts, and extra cost. I applaud record players that use magnetic cartridges.
There is a company called Rivermont Records that produces 78 discs. Microgroove and stereo. They are early 20th century jazz and blues performed by contemporary artists. I've always wanted to get one. Anyways, have a good week.
Yes, that is a cheap suitcase player, but I will admit that I always loved the very Christmassy look of it. I can see busting that out, say on Christmas eve with no other lights on in the house but the Christmas tree and having that thing playing some Christmas music in the background, especially that Bing Crosby album, and then sitting there enjoying the peacefulness of it all while sipping on something like eggnog or hot chocolate.
Boy you wanna remember a suitcase record player I had one with a mono speaker right under the tonearm it wasn't bad but boy they hate 45 rpm records and 331/3 RPM with a lot of bass because they used sapphire needles they would jump right out of the grooves I believe VJ Kids made mine!

Thank you! These will wear a record faster than a lighter tracking one but will not damage it.
@@Recordology Thank you for answering my question.
Great as always learn so much as a newbie still
Glad you’re enjoying the content!

That’s awesome!
Why do i kinda want one?
I tried looking this up and it looks like they've discontinued this colorway.

I think the Crosley Cruiser has a texture that could complicate decorating?
One of the advantages of a vinyl record is the art work on them vs cds! Just my opinion!

YES! I have one of those - really fun stuff!
@Recordology How many songs are on the album?
@@Recordology Maybe you could do a show on Rivermont.
We did this one th-cam.com/users/shortsUWIQZ7cdbq8 Looks like two songs on each side.

Exactly! That's how I feel about it too....
@@Recordology Thanks for the record from last night's live stream. Looking forward to receiving it and will let you know when it arrives! 😊🎅🎄🎁🎶
