Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, an iconic SUV, which unfortunately could not find favours with Indian SUV buyers, even though, Pajero is probably one the best SUV for off-roading and rallies.
Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour lost to Pajero Sport when the owner was in the market to buy a SUV. Toyota Fortuner Lost to Pajero Sport because of it had only 4 gears. Ford Endeavour lost out to Pajero Sport because of uncomfortable rear seat.
Pajero Sport gives a city mileage of 8-9 kmpl and a highway mileage of 12-13 kmpl. However, at speeds of 60-70 kmph on highway the Pajero Sports gives a mileage of 20 kmpl.
Pajero Sport service is scheduled at every 10 km or 1 year and it cost around Rs.10000-Rs15000 to service a Pajero Sport.
Pajero Sport is a 7 seater SUV which can easily accommodate 4 decent bags with full complement of passenger. Pajero Sport gives massive 700 litres of boot space when 2nd and 3rd row seats are folded flat.
The 4*4 drive of Pajero Sport from Mitsubishi comes is called Select Drive and it offers 4 drive modes, these are; 2WD, 4WDH, 4WDHL and 4WDL. On regular city road its best to drive in 2WD for better fuel efficiency.
Pajero Sport is a great car to drive on Sand Dunes.
Mitsubishi Pajero Sport has a high Ground Clearance of 225 m which makes it suitable for off-roading driving adventures.
The owner believes that, Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour has become so common in Indian market that no one notices them whereas Pajero Sport has pretty good road presence and it ensures the SUV big Respect when its driven around.
We have deliberately retained the raw original form as we believe it's the content that matters more than the pizzaz.

I have Mitsubishi Pajero Sport 2014 Anniversary Edition, it has clocked 2 lacs kilometres and still has a feel of new car.

Morning CP - Just did another review of a Pajero Sport, if one was to believe the owner he is not facing any problem related to service or spares of his car.
ecardlr very true but to be honest the car , brand & thr technology is great but dead in India ... many service centre’s hav shut down & the dealers arnt that dynamic....
May be a dead investment since the first day only because of the brand name as you hardly hear it ...
But to be honest all Mitsubishi cars are great .... they need to come back aggressively in the Indian market once again ....

Hey if i give full throttle in Manual Pajero S, how will it react? Is it more Aggressive than new Fortuner or 2 litre Endeavour as those have less Power output.
Pajero has also got 2wd option that makes it bit quicker than fortuner as fortuner is full time AWD, also pajero manual is very much aggressive in acceleration compared to automatic.
I must say that all this big SUV's are not that easy to drive .. you can feel all the heaviness like you are in a tank !! Drive a Monocoque 200 km and you be ready for another 100km but drive this beast 200 km and you'll get exhausted and search a bed to fall on it !!

Honestly, I think you have probably stretched it to its limit Maybe it has some juice for another 20-25k, but personally I will probably look at other options. But at the same time I am no expert on this.

Pajero Is a very capable SUV,Though highly under rated in India
Due to many factors like
1-Mutsubishi never tried to sell any other Hatch or sedan in India,only the Lancer as far as I remember
2-low number of service centers in City,and no availability is small towns
3- No marketing done properly in India,Like Maruti has Ranveer and Hyundai has Shahrukh
Mitsubishi should have had one celeb for it
4-Never tried to compete with Innova Segment,Otherwise people would have loved another Japanese rival
5-Outlander being too costly for indians and that too came in petrol only
I hope Mitsubishi doesn't have to close its work India
Like Chevy had to,though there were more number of Chevy in market as compared to Mitsubishi

Evening Vivek - I think many will agree with you, particularly when it comes to fit finish, design and features, However, many seem to be having a problem with rear seat comfort, just like wha the Pajero owner has told during his review.

The only reason they have to sell it at a low price (40L) is to stay in this market because in India, people are crazy about fortuner. Endeavour/Everest miles ahead & is easily a match to a vehicle twice its price. Pajero is a good vehicle so I would still appreciate someone who bought Pajero vs a fortuner
