    I (54 years old) bought a red light board and received treatment for more than 1 month. Found the best method for the body when examining different areas of the body while nude, alternating between days (even days with 5 positions: 1. Top of the head 2. back 3. abdomen - chest 4. anterior groin 5. buttocks and prostate. The next day, scan position # (odd days with 5 positions: 1. Knee, 2. foot 3. Shoulder and neck 4. Hand and forearm 5. Shoulder). And scan Exactly 15 minutes. After that time, it will be very difficult to sleep.

    My opinion is to alternate days because of cumulative effects. Also to use it in the morning to avoid sleep disruption. And to aim for a full body dose of 25-35 joules of energy to the body. Need to calculate based on irradiance (power) at certain distance from device and then calculate time in seconds for each area of the body. Aim for 35 joules/cm2 total for full body for general wellness and skin benefits, around 6-7 joules per area of body. Also see gembared’s discussion of compensating for light reflection whereby it may be recommended to multiply time in seconds by 2.5 because of 60% light reflection off of skin.

    I’ve been using the LED Platinum 450 for 22 days straight 20min on my back and I got a blister today. I might be using it too much or too close or both. I heard that you could not get burnt but that was wrong!!! Wondering if I have to stop completely under blister heals or continue to heal the blister just cut down on time and distance???

    With the glasses for the eyes 1 3 minute session per week minimum must be in the morning if you are 40 years old and older

    Are these 'doses' session lengths per treatment area? So for example medium dose benefit @8inches 10 minutes front, then 10 back for a total of 20 minutes?

    • @mychondria
      @mychondria  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      That’s correct, although dependent on the benefit. Something like joint pain would of course be aimed the joint specifically, whereas a general benefit such as sleep quality involves larger parts of the body.

    I have a small red light therapy pad.
    I place it on different parts of my body while it is flashing red light mode. (said to be strongest)
    I place it on my injured shoulder
    My twisted ankle
    My injured muscles (right leg)
    around shin (left leg)
    Left knee
    I do 15 to 20 minutes per area for it to heal.
    Yet if I count the overall session time it becomes 20 times 4 which is 1 hour!
    Is that too much? Is the time counted separately or together? Does it count if I am doing 15-20minutes per separated body areas? I honestly do get a head high while using my red light therapy pad on any part of my body especially if I can look at it.

  • @roberteats

    So this is speaking per-session.. What's a safe frequency of the sessions themseleves? Aka once a day, twice, etc?

    • @mychondria
      @mychondria  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Correct, that’s per session, per day.
      There are some studies that show benefits with even less frequency, such as 2-3 times per week.
      This doesn’t mean daily would be less optimal though as it’s still well within healthy dose ranges.

    I have the Ruby-lux large bulb - not flat panel with little lights. Surely they have some info on this - been around for a long time. All l I could find is maximum distance 24" from light. I have only noticed that the more areas I expose to the light in total - I get very dehydrated. Have to drink a lot of water after. Just new at this and find your reports very informative

    • @mychondria
      @mychondria  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks for your feedback, Jane.
      The Ruby-lux bulbs are different to red light therapy devices. They are infrared bulbs, which focus on a large range of the infrared spectrum. This type of bulb also emits some heat, which is why you can get a detox effect from it, similar to a sauna.
      Red light therapy uses shorter wavelengths of light, and does not produce heat. Instead it targets the key wavelengths which stimulate the mitochondria within your cells.
