my hard drives are on "custom access mode" and i need to change them to "read & write" to delete my files from the bin... but i can't change that without erasing everthing and i dont have others to make a back up
Hi,i can't delete files from my external hard disk as its showing me an error - The operation can’t be completed because backup items can’t be modified...... , pls suggest how to delete the files from the hard disk.
I have read all comments, followed instructions provided, and the option to drag to trash bin is not provided. Is there any other options to discard files without reprogramming?
There's no "Move to Trash" or "Move to Bin" option when I right-click on the item that I want to delete.

i didn't empty bin before ejecting the hdd, and now i cant delete the files from the bin. is there any solution?
I had the same issue. His idea about formatting will take care of your issues .

What if it says "you can't read and write" under sharing and permissions?
