3D guy here - in many cases rendering acceleration on multiple GPUs is not enabled by default, so you'd need to look into the renderer settings (usually something called "GPU manager" or similar) and enable the secondary GPU. If set up properly - the Titans would SMOKE that Quadro in terms of raw render speed. Between my 3090 and my 2080Ti in the same machine - I can easily tell when the 2080Ti is not on to aid in rendering and it's just a matter of flipping the switch :)
Let me just Highlight: These Quadro cards are made for one thing : that is hold lots of Vram. You will need these if you want to render the Final Battle in Avengers Endgame.Or if you do texture painting on Creatures like Godzilla.
That's the answer that I was looking for .. much appreciated.... can u use fual questions RTX ? And can u use a server case to hold more then quadro RTX cards to get more v ram and to get better performance , and render time so u can have the possibility to make blockbuster 3d render movie scenes or is just not worth it in the long run without paying for massive render farm service to render your scene ???
Its weird they dont mention Lab use in this review.. I mean, in the lab you need to make chemical simulations, like the reaction of a catalyzer on the protein cover of a cell.. all that without spending time to make the catalizer, weeeks after making the analisis, then run some chromatographies.. costing several thousands dollars.. with a quadro computer you run the simulation, maybe even ONE WEEK iof processing then you have your results.. and a RTZ Titan or a GTX there is no way they can do that. not everyone in his right mind would make a 96 hours 100% processing stress with a GTX, and thats just you, there are other doctors waiting in line to make their simulations right after you finish.. day after day all month, almost all year.. a Quadro can..sometimes you need one of this to wokr on ChemCAD or GROMACS or some investigation softwares.. They just tested on Blemnder, and people compare it with multimedia processing and gaming, but.. Quadro GPUs are for another different market where a RTX2080ti is just a paperweight in few months
1:57 "ah yes I can change the angle" that is the maximum angle variance, and higher values create softer shadows. it is not the actual angle of the lamp
You're right about one thing, though... The badly-named "angle" is the sun/star's apparent size in the sky. Our Sun has about 30 seconds or arc. Not the Sun's position as Linus thought, you change that with the light's gizmo or by rotating it in the 3D view.

@@ProjectPhysX but according to the video it seems even a 8000 is taking a bit to handle a complex 3d scene. How can you think about buying it to make complex realistic 3d animations?? probably 3 8000 Quadro cards???
I would like to see Linus run some machine learning models (Pytorch Tensorflow - RNNs, CNNs, CRNNs, Adversarial Systems) in some of these expensive GPUs.
To elaborate, as a 3D artist, the 24G in the Titan is great, and the Quadro is overkill for most studios unless they are doing MASSIVE scenes like Pixar and Dreamworks. From a 3D artist/VFX Artist standpoint, it makes more sense to get 2x Titans because the 24G is plenty for what most 3D artists do, and in Blender you get TWO gpu tiles when rendering which is effectively twice as fast as one Quadro, because Quadros have the same chips as the GeForce cards, while cherry-picked for better performance and stability, two Titans would still outperform a Quadro in most applications, unless you are rendering MASSIVE scenes with image textures that have 4k+ sizes.
I can't even imagine how hard that was to design. I've designed video capture and camera devices with single 16-bit DDR3 memory chips and that was pretty difficult (probably because they were ultra miniature at 25 x 25 mm). I wonder how many layers they used for this board. They need massive amounts of copper for power planes and a ridiculous amount of area for length tuning. As an senior electrical engineer, I must say that brings a tear to the eye strictly from an electronics design standpoint.
Imagine dual Quadro RTX's in SLI with 32 gigabytes of RAM and a Threadripper 3990x. It would cost more than a months worth of salary, but it would be cool to see.

1:31 notable that this is done in the "Cycles" path-tracing render mode as opposed to the real-time but raster-based renderer "Eevee" available in Blender version 2.8 up. Also, easy to confuse if you're not a Blender user but that's the angular diameter you were affecting not an angle of the sun in the sky. Or you want to use fun machine learning models at higher resolutions.
But... can it run Crysis?
Quadro GPUs are for another different market where a RTX2080ti is just a paperweight in few months

i must admit, i am also confused, like what's your point? :p
5:29 Simulation freaking out in the background
