The Buick 3800 was a great engine. Car Wizard rates it best engine EVER, Wards says it's one of top ten all time best. It was used in the Cadillac too.
They can be found pretty reasonably. I love mine and after the alternator almost burned it down I decided to give it the full treatment…ac, new alternator, crank pos sensor, repainted bumpers and trim. That video coming in a couple weeks.
Oh yeah. Guess I forgot to mention they had the convertible in 90-91. Good thing they dropped that touchscreen too, that would have been hard to see with top down and sun shining on it.
The dashboard is so 80s/90s with the displays, I love it! Neat car, I would prioritize getting the AC since where I am at its 100+ degrees (unfortunately.) That altercation with that drunk guy was funny! Theres a trofeo in a local junkyard, but its paint is real rough (though it looks solid.)
I did repaint the bumpers (in another video) and they came out wayyyy better than I expected. However that solvent pop, those holes go down pretty deep down to the primer.
The Reatta was a car that I dreamed about owning when they were new. Always liked the rare North American cars.
Was always a favorite of mine too but I actually forgot they existed. So imagine my excitement when I found this one and for only $2500
I bought one of these a year ago and I have been restoring it. Great video, awesome job on this one 👍
Thanks! Hope yours isn’t too bad. Some of these are pretty worn out
Mine is rough, but I found a really nice parts car. Interestingly enough, the parts car belonged to one of my best friends’ grandfather back in 1998.

Agreed! And that seems to be the theme of my cars...I've got a 3800, a Jeep 4.0, Volvo Redblock, Chrysler Slant 6 (with only 31k miles).
Looking into getting one of these same year and all so I appreciate the breakdown

Was there a convertible? Always liked these. Thought my wife would look good in one of these

Yeah, the computer while less useful is more fun to show off. As much as I’d love a Trofeo, it really would be redundant to the Reatta.
@@stage0garage yea, theres also an allante which looks to be in good condition, which I am considering
@@stage0garage I use the computer stuff in my 89 all the time
It'll buff out

Would this be a decent short commuter? I have a truck I need to get rid of.
Oh absolutely! They’re quiet and handle well. If you live where it get hot you will need working AC in these. They get warm inside
How would u compare the 15 and 17 inch different
No real noticeable increase in harshness with the lower sidewall but definitely better handling.
Cleann wheels are eh but you do you man
I agree they’re meh, but it gave me an opportunity to see how the 17’s would drive. I’ll likely look for something better next year.
Everything good, except these stupid rims.
IKR! But I am stripping my originals (clear coat all worn) and probably putting them back on if that goes well
