The angles of this haircut were great. I’m a barber and have been watching for the entire length of my career, always learning. This is probably the best shot video I’ve seen from you guys, camera wise. Excellent haircut also, as always! Keep up the great work.
Great video and haircut. I have many customers asking for this more often now, but since I started barbering only 11 years ago I don't have much experience with these styles since this didn't get popular again until recently. Great job!
Dan you are the man, literally a master of your craft. Everything you do is done to such a high standard, always great advice on your consulting too. Love your videos keep up the great work 🙌🏼
Yes, mics on the client now! Some videos won’t have in this round. We were testing and only had one set of microphones (need 2 to alternate when battery runs low) but in future all videos will have Dan and client mic’d! Appreciate everyone’s feedback on that!
That style is very late 90's, popular around 97-98, it looks awesome and Dan nailed it, these videos are satisfying to watch because he's just so talented, and also the scissor sounds lol
As always thank you so much for these videos, they really help me improve 👌👌 Getting a few of these 90’s style cuts requested recently and i feel like i do a good job, but with the knowledge you pass down through these videos i can really refine my work and get it spot on, thanks again and great cut 👊
First of all Your videos are a real inspiration for me and my team so thank you so much for that🙏🏻 I watch all of them and never skipping a second😊 I’ve been a barber for about 30+ years so I was around when these cuts were popular. in Holland where I’m from the weight from the top was left really heavy on the short sides so a slight graduation was visible but no point cutting so it was still a bit of a line and sometimes even a concave line in the back… looking back we did some strange things back then😅 we used mousse or gel for styling thanks again for this video! Nice cut🔥🔥🔥🙏🏻👋🏻
Great haircut!! 😌👏 I’m not a barber but my son really likes the way I cut his hair so I always do it. I’ve picked up so many tips from watching your videos, so thank you, it makes my boy look good 🥳
I’m a second year barber and I really appreciate your videos! I do this cut often and there are many finer points here that clear up struggles I have had with this cut.
Always amazing work! I think that hair cutting, barbering, and styling have really progressed within the last 13 years and I think it’s because of TH-cam.
Great Haircut! you were right back in the 80's/90's haircutting was mostly precision for my work too, sometimes razors were used for texture . lots of mousse , hair spray and industrial strength gel.
Can I do a suggestion? Put the “before” better than the “after” (in the picture that announces the new video or every video) I like to discover what kind of cut will be seeing the video and see the “after” when finishes the video. It’s like watching a movie knowing that the main character dies at the end, you know? 😅

Yeah, in the states the mullet's definitely having a moment. I'm personally growing something out right now, but I will likely go for something like Anakin Skywalker or Loki, but tons of maintenance cuts will have to be performed to avoid awkwardness.
Love your videos. I haven’t cut hair for 12 years and I cringe when I see you texturize…brings back memories of barber school and many many nicked fingers and band aids. Keep up the great work.
I used to cut my nephews hair in the 90s like this, but we called it a “surfer cut” and it was an under cut very tight and the top was a middle part with lots of weight.
I was born in 1980 and remember asking for a 'Jason Donovan' circa 1988-89 😂 my favourite was in 1998 with my big curtains/undercut. I'm currently rocking curtains with a lot less harsh trim on sides. I'm loving the fact centre partings are making a return
I use to wear my hair, in this centre part style.. I had lots of hair but fine. I used to use mousse blow dry with a Denman and then blow dry further with hair spray for volume.. happy days.. ✌
a bit of an older video but I would be dying to know a professional's opinion on this haircut for a client with a very noticeably receding hairline, low hair density and frizzy texture/split ends (basically very poor hair health :P) I used to rock this hairstyle a few years back when I had much healthier hair but nowadays I feel insecure and unsure whether to get this still
you used sea salt spray for the last middle part video so interesting you elect for powder this time one of the best cuts ive seen on this channel nonetheless
Hair texture, colour, the look you want to achieve... will someone use a salt spray and hairdryer every day? Little things that may just change the product you use. Salt spray and powder will both do a fairly similar job! Both fairly matte and both add volume/texture. One is a pre styler and one is finishing product. Either can be used though! Thank you - appreciate it!
I really like his haircut so 90s. I just wanted to say can guys like me who have thick and wavy hair can pull it out with the middle part or curtained hairstyle just wanted to know.
I found your page after deciding to continue growing out my hair. Had a maintenance trim done in March; and I often go back and forth between having the desire to just throw a 3 Blade to it, and start over. So far, the longer hair's won over in that respect. I love watching the entire video, just to hear your commentary; and friendly banter between your clients and such. I also love watching your techniques, which seem effortless; though the expertise comes with great time and experience no doubt! If I ever embark across the vast pond, I'd love to swing by to have the chance for a cut! All the best! Randy Dallas, TX
We most used just sheer over comb technique.. it not perfect but it does the job.. after all we weren't pro's just some gang(group boys) doing favour to each other .
hello, i just came to say that you are an inspo for me, love watching your videos, thank you for sharing your knowledges with us. best wishes for you and your team
Great Haircut Dan, upto your usual high standards. Nice to see a young lad getting a different haircut as opposed to most young lads who all have the same mullet or skin fade 😑😑 keep doing whay you're doing mate love the channel. 💈👍🏻✂️
He came in with what we used to call 'hockey hair' back in the 90s. It was a common look among players. Great cut, as always. Personally, I think curtain bangs are a tragedy. But gotta give the client what he wants. I thought the hair combed back off his face looked best.

I had this style around 94, I’m now 43, I’m just about there with growing it back to that look, I love it, it’s a timeless look in my opinion
I'm up there with you in age, and I don't think this is a hair style for us, sorry

I've found that centre partings, especially on fine hair can be really tricky to get that blend right. This was so good to watch. Top cut as always.
I love this type of client. Very open and respectful
also handsome...no homo tho
Fantastic cut Dan. The texturising to blend the top to the taper was spot on.
Thank you!
I like that I can properly hear the client now 👏🏼
