Excellent looking product and very clever design. But more importantly this was perhaps the very best product demo and install video. Covered all the bases!!! Well done!
I finally installed mine after purchasing is I think over 12 months ago, one tip when you install the raiser when you unbolt one side of the roof rack completely (3 bolt) it is the ideal time to slide in the T-bolt bracket assembly for the table slide as you can left the rihno rack for extra work space. Do the same on the other side.
I have something different in mind for it. I want to install one back to front. Attach roller sliders with a solar panel. When needed, you just slide the solar panel out over the bonnet.
We hear a lot of requests for a Solar Panel slide. If you found one the right specs, there's no reason you couldn't hack this to work for your application. :)
Love it. ❤ All it needs is a way to lock it in place to deter theft of the table. But since you already know the width of the table, thus what distance each slide rails will be from each other, it could be as simple as extending the end tabs of your locking bar mechanism and folding them 90° downwards. Then drill a hole on the folded end tabs that is aligned to drilled holes on the slide rails themselves, so that you can use a small padlock to lock the whole thing in place.
We did contemplate theft protection, and did venture into hinged locking bars, but ultimately decided to keep it simple for now. Our dev team have a very simple solution that allows a padlock to be fed through the end of the slide on one side, which doesn't make it impossible to steal the table but would make it hard. It's something we may include on future batches. In the interim, it would just require drilling one hole. if you want to shoot an email to info@kaon.com.au we can show you the suggestion. We are looking at the development of a stainless, ultra-slimline table, and this would be something we'd include in that instance. Our best recommendation is to remove the table and bar when it's not in use, but of course, if you're travelling in places where folks are less-than-friendly there is a chance of that happening.
@@KAONaust I'd be very interested in this slim line stainless table product as I don't think I have enough clearance on my 150 Prado. I first saw this idea with Front Runner's table product and was looking into ways to fabricate or to get something fabricated to suit but in true KAON style you guys come to the party. I will be tuned in to this and all things KAON, but for now I will enjoy my 30L water tank and shelf and molle panels which have been a fantastic addition to my rig. Cheers guys.
@@adamking3793 It's very unlikely - the stainless table is something we want to tackle in order to get around height constraints on models with tight roof rack clearance, so the mounts for this table would be too large.
It's not one we have in development, but it's something we'd look at if the demand was there. It would need to be for a slimline table we're looking at developing, as we found in our research that most BASE Racks only have around 40mm of clearance.
Im glad I've come across your channel and this product... I have been banging my head trying to justify the Front Runner table/storage but you think that we were buying a car for the price they charge!!! Like it has been mentioned, you definitely need a locking solution... I park my car at the railway, therefore no need for the table obviously, but i can see that end bar getting lost with the constant removal... I assume it wouldn't sit well there without the table present?? Reading your comments and hopefully very soon rather than later, you produce the stainless table and track... I was straight onto your website and ready to buy until i read the comments for a stainless..... But, please dont be like you competitor and believe a camp table is worth $800 and over $1000 with tracks!😳
Looking for options for under our Alu cab gen 3 tent on Alu cab cross bars. Not sure it will work but this is one of the best videos I’ve seen! Thank you!
Perfect. Just what I needed. I was ready to buy the Road Runner roof rack, purely for their RR mounted table holder and table. With this product, you guys just saved me $$$$. Any way of securing it with a lock of some sort (to prevent theft)?

looks interesting, I would want the drop down legs on the top to stop them dropping down onto the roof. Would not like to install that if the rack is on the car
Just arrived via UPS Interparcel today from Australia to the United States. Amazing fast shipping. Only took a week. Expensive shipping but, what do you expect for international orders. 😁
i have used the same bunnings table with the table slide mount. however the locking bar can't lock into place unless i remove the rubber. bunnings table is all the way in the slide, i checked the other end
freaking.. brilliant. Would a Prado with rhino rack slim s5 or a FR SlimII have enough clearance? I don't get the question in your site, if I need a spacer?
I have a frontrunner slimline II on my 2nd gen Tacoma. Would this slide work with it and would the slide go side to side (not front to back)? Might have to ask some relatives to get this for me when they fly over to the US!
This is exactly what I've been wanting for my pioneer rack!!! Can you give some dimensions for the table? I live in the U.S. so I would need to source a similar table.
For sure! There is more information on the table on the product FAQ tab, but the dimensions are 615 x 1220 x 35mm. www.kaon.com.au/roof-rack-table-slide-mount
Potentially, you'd need to ensure the side access was 745mm without obstruction, and that you had at least 1300mm E/W across the rack for the slide to fit. You'd also have to be able to get the slat channels spaced exactly the distance required apart. While Frontrunner does allow you to manipulate the slat spacing, there is a chance you may need to drill an additional hole to get it exactly right for this table.
If this is only readily available in the United States. Lots of rigs here with the Rhino-Rack Backbone Pioneer Platform. You guys design way better mounts on the system than Rhino-Rack. Your awning brackets, Maxtrax mounts, and this table mount. Most Rhino-Rack users are envious of Front Runner's table mount. I don't know why Rhino-Rack has not designed one. They teased us with the solar slide back in the 2017 SEMA. But, for some reason, that never made it to the market. I checked to see how much it will cost to buy your table mount and shipped to the U.S. The shipping cost is the same as the unit price and that's excluding taxes and customs charges. Not sensible for a system to mount a $60 plastic table.
In our experience it doesn't need anything more than a light wipe down, if that! We've had team members travel from the Cape to the Simpson to the High Country without finding dust to be an issue.
Can this be used/modified for the 6 foot Bunnings table or do you make a longer one for this purpose. I have a Landcruiser with a 2100mm Rhino Rack and would love the longer table.
I just did this on mine, I had to bend the rear 2 stoppers down and used 2 bolts on the last slat (front runner) to act as a stopper. The 6ft table is also wider so you won't be able to use the locking bar so instead would need to find a way to secure it from the front. I just used a stratchit which hooks onto the under side of the table ring and to an eyelet up the top of my rack. Sorta takes away from the clean look but it's functional and secure. The table does however stick out past the platform a bit by around 5cm
@Kaon are you guys able to come up with a solution so this product can be fitted to a Rola Titan platform tray? FYI, mine is using the Rola Low Mount Legs (not a channel system like this uses). Cheers :)
Hi there, yes we do! You can use the shipping calculator on the product pages on our website. The biggest challenge in purchasing this product internationally would be accessing a table in the same dimensions locally.
If you dont want to remove your roof platform completely, lifting up one side is the way to go. Undo all the bolts, get your rolled up sleeping bag or big soft rolled up doona and when you have one side lifted up, use the sleeping bag as a stopper to keep the platform elevated. Ten million times easier than trying to get a spanner in there.

Wonder if solar panels would fit in there instead of a table? Adjustable stops would be a great feature/accessory to allow for shorter tables.
