    What people failed to realise that no matter how much hate they throw towards people who make adult content, at the end of the day they're STILL making money because people are willing to buy it. There's no point in doing so, I suggest to just let them be.
    Edit: Y'all, in no absolute way am I supporting or encouraging this type of content. All I'm saying is let them be because they KNOW the consequences when they've stepped into this industry. Hating on them isn't going to result in anything after the damage is done. Simple.

      I think some people are disagreeing from the point of view of safety for women that it is not 'empowering' to share your photos. In that regard it is easy to agree it is not empowering per se in the traditional meaning of the word 'empowering'. But it can be empowering for example to an introvert who doesnt know their own beauty and is caught up inside their head. Whatever negative opinions generally held about parasocial relationships it is true that certain people like comedians and popstars and idols (japan only) connect in a way that even modern psychology cannot explain. Their is a lot of power in herd mentality and no one knows how to conceptualise it. I think more than just look at OF as being part of the sex industry if we looked at it as a kind of general health counselling solving slow death by loneliness (which is really an epidemic according to doctors and scientists) one parasocial transaction at a time we can see it had real world value. But it shares the same negative connotations of privacy and security as real life sex industry does so thats why it is still not totally a good thing but maybe as Jisoo once put it Not Bad But Not Good

      Although I think BJ streaming for the most part is harmless. You will not look good forever. And you won't make good money forever. It's not worth selling your soul for this type of stuff. Try finding a job when your 40 years old and when people google your name really spicy stuff comes up, from years ago when you looked at your best. And remember the internet never forgets.

    Regarding somyi. She quit adult streaming in january. She had a breakdown and cried on a live. She said she never wanted to do adult content and still wanted to be an idol. she feels the industry thinks she is too ugly though. She also expressed how she did it to pay off debt that she had and of her parents. She still owed some at that time.
    Anyways, somyi wasnt proud of that decision and has taken a long break.

      I disagree. There is a balance of expectation i would say: if you are an adult entertainer embrace it and be proud of it, if you back down then you embrace that too. You will definitely be judged on your career choices, in fact you are always judged on your career choices, becareful of your career decisions it will impact the rest of your life. Any decision you make in your life impact the rest of your life, don't make a decision which will impact the rest of your life. If the prospect of the consequences are too much too bear. Once a pornstar, always a former pornstar, if you want to shake it off then you have to lie to yourself and others, which is what no one wants to see because that will not lead to a good outcome as at that point it is mandatory to lie and hide.

    Honestly, kpop, especially certain 'concepts' are basically adult content, but it's okay since companies can cash out on them. And everyone has access to them.
    Also, idols AND trainees have always been 'rented' to powerful people to 'guarantee success' so i don't think OF is any worse to them. On OF they earn money for themselves rather than a label.
    I don't think anyone who consumes such content (certain dances kpop groups do) gets to act or talk from a moral high ground point.

    • @Thins_Are_SUS
      @Thins_Are_SUS 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Part of Kpop pretty much gives you valuable experience to begin posting adult content.
      Also it's strange to assume that Kpop, which has so much sexy concept, isn't luring in more people who enjoy being seductive, than the amount that occurs in the general, random population.
      "I don't think anyone who consumes such content (certain dances kpop groups do) gets to act or talk from a moral high ground point." Keep in mind that OF creators, and fans, have often shamed prostitutes. Sex workers put such arbitrary barriers between them.

    Well, the K-Pop industry is like a series of factories. Each factory is a so called agency. Factories make products. The products are the girl groups and boy bands. They mass produce them and see what sticks. You even see some groups losing or giving up on a member. If the group does succeed, lasting the 7 years....their career in K-Pop is over. Same for members that were expelled. It appears that the K-Pop industry also interferes with the girls' education. Basically they pretty much have to abandon high school. If they don't succeed in K-Pop, they're in trouble. In South Korea there's an old saying: lazy as a Japanese. In South Korea pretty much anyone has some qualifications AFTER high school. If it's not a university degree, at least some sort of school. A failed idol will not be in a good situation. Low paying jobs will be pretty much the only option.....or the AV sector.

    What's so different from being a K-pop idol and being in the industry. As an idol, they wear skimmy outfits, do suggestive dances, are forced to do, dress, and act in mvs and pics. Hell, even be forced to do these weird, "cute" voices... what's the different. The only difference is that they are getting paid more and what's deserved more than when they were an idol, instead of being ripped or barely scrapping by while their company is taking all the profits. So again, what's the different feom what they are doing now than what they used to do.

    This includes the producer of a girl group reality show. He blatantly said that enjoying the performances of idols is a respectable way to satisfy the same need.

Only the top 5% does, and these girls have to do stuff that goes further and futher doing degrading stuff, otherwise you will lose your viewers. Furthermore you are probably going to be a parent one day, and you will def become an auntie or uncle to someone. What if you daughter or niece, who you raised or helped raising, says to you 'Hey mom/dad I'm going to shake my boobies and ass for the whole internet to see. I think I can make money from doing that.' That doesn't sound so good does it? So quite with that empowering stuff or that they are adult and have to choose for themselfs. Remember, being part of a kpop idol group or solo star costs money. If the company put out x amount and the group brings less than that, the group owes. If the group or solo artist wants to continue a career, they gonna have to “pay” back that money. Also, don’t trust the company accounting, they rip off artists. They always rip off artists, how do you do so many public performances with so much internet exposure and lose money? Is like the classic pimp technique, keep your hoes broke, so they need you. Give them enough to survive but not too much where they think they don’t need you.
    These days being a twitch streamer pays more than a kpop idol. You keep your dignity and your money. You don’t have to worry about fabricated “scandals” and live a normal life.
