Hi. I would depend on your self, if you feel confident, go for the double clutch, I say that because a job that might be the best for you, may have a truck with a Roadranger. BUT in saying that will not hold you back as most new trucks now are auto. Good luck with your licence.
I see one very similar to that on the Westgate sometimes, unless it's you. Those k200 you guys have really stand out. Lots of white cab over Kenworths around, but with the big white bar at the front they look quite unique.
hey Rod. im 16 and i have been interested in trucking for as long as i can remember. as a kid my dream job was to be a truck driver until i found a interest in computer hardware. as im becoming older i realised being a truck driver would probably be the better choice as i love long drives because i grew up traveling around western Australia with a car and caravan. what would be a recommendation/requirement i would need to get into this line of work. Is there anything i can do to kick start my dream job of becoming a truck driver? cheers Jay.
If you can even start working for a transport company before you’re actually able to get your truck licence that’s something I personally would recommend you try and do. Getting your licence is not cheap, and especially if you work for the right company prove yourself as a hard worker, make it known you would love to drive trucks one day and they will end up paying for your licence. They pay for it, and pay you to work. It’s a win win. Also for example here in Victoria even for a rigid ( which is where you start) you can’t just go and get your truck licence on your P plates. The only way you can get it is if you need it for your job, and your employer basically submits a letter to Vicroads and you’re eligible at that point. Then you have your licence for each one for a minimum of 12 months, unless again you need to upgrade for your job. I had my semi licence for only 3 months before I got my MC ( B double) licence because my employer needed me to get it. So went through the process I mentioned before and I was able to get it after only 3 months. If you love driving which is the reason I got into the industry then you will enjoy it a lot. I love driving, the longer the better and so it’s the perfect job for me. It’s hard work, long hours, but good pay. It can be very good pay. I earn for example more then many people who work in the corporate world right now, and I drive a truck lol. And I don’t do interstate anymore. The occasional Sydney or Canberra run but other then then I do regional areas now. I get to take my young son with me sometimes and that he loves. It is I find a great job

If you are looking to the futureTherei s a list of skills and qualifications on The Australian immigration website Another way If you are single, is to find a partner in Australia or Australian citizen In Canada. The cost Of a fiance or partner Visa is around $6000 I believe. Again you can check that with the immigration website. Sorry, but they don't make it easy
Driven Heavy Rigid's with Allison Autos. Nice bits of kit. got a low range and work the engine brake and I go well down hills including the notorious 20km hill down Warringah Rd on the Northern beaches. I would prefer to go home less fatigued too :)
Yeah maybe, most of the driver that have been here about 18 months have new ones aswell. Yes 600 Cummins, I would think, but I did not ask, just drive it.

Some trucks are terrible to drive, rough as anything then you get into the same model, even older with more km and they're much better trucks. Guess it depends on who has driven it and how long, but cab overs can be a bit rough. I see guys doing 70km/h over train lines in loaded doubles or singles, any wonder they drive like shit.
It is a nice truck but I can't see any one asking How do you queue your tires ? I'm an old retired trucker I use to hit them with a hammer or a peace of pipe , what are you going to do ?
Most drivers don't even check tyres, seen a local driver just yesterday with a flat drive, binder bar handy in the toolbox. Good old days with Bunkers running re-caps out at Bourke and Broken Hill in summer swapping spares with fellow company drivers.
Sorry for the late reply, There are many advertisements for owner drivers, But you need to do lots of research to find a company that will give enough work and pay a good rate, Most transport companies have owner drivers, not having experience could be a problem with some. If you have to obtain finance to purchase a truck, experience may also be an issue unless it's a personal loan. I'm not trying to put you off buying a truck, just make sure that it is right for you. Try talking to drivers, work out what you need to earn each week, search for reviews on companies, make sure you get enough hours and a good rate.

Yes you are right, weather shield, could not think of the right name, old age. Painted tanks saves polishing and cheaper than stainless. None of the trucks in the fleet have light covers?
@@australiantruckerrod1070 Cool Rod.The K 200 I drive has 40,000 on it now & is a big change from the K 104B I was in.It has stainless wrapped tanks & fortunately I didn’t have to pay for the truck or the extras on it.Keep truckin mate.
I drive a idrive volvo fm 10k short of million km drives beautiful auto all the. Dont have to worrie about going down missing a gear while having a burger lol just click down.

Red interior is okay, have just had a lot that colour. The charcoal was good for a change.

How do you like k2 I drive a 2018 k2 blinged up with like 40-50lights just on front but tbh they rubbish haha that's my opinion on them
