    Rod talking about bull bars my first job was with a furniture company in the Sutherland shire.the owner bought 2 Scanias cab overs.the company had the contract to move the military personnel over to western Australia.thay drove to South Australia then loaded the whole prime mover and trailer on the train before that he had to wash of the stray cow that he hit.the bull bar was a wright of the grill had to be replaced but what saved him was the bull bar.the driver showed us the photos on a old camera of course it was in the 80s.i no where U drive there shouldn't be any cows but Roos ect.i think it adds value to the rig on resale.good job Rod.

    Hi Rod beautiful kw I'm still trying to like the white fuel tanks.Then when U hooked up to the a/b trailers it does look nice.Nothing against your boss or U Rod but ask your boss for a bull bar that would set it off.I know there expensive but in the long run it might
    be a blessing and thats what sets of a Australian prime movers..luv your videos.👍.

    • @australiantruckerrod1070
      @australiantruckerrod1070  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Carlo, DAF is sold by Kenworth here, maybe why they have the same mirrors, Kenworth was going to end production of the K series and have DAF as the cabover a few years ago. The idea was not well received by customers.
      Was watching a UK driver in Holland said you have great roads is this true?

    • @1982okidoki
      @1982okidoki 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@australiantruckerrod1070hi Rod yes the roads here in Holland are al like pooling tabels, the country's around us is mutch more worse than by us, Belgium is one big puthole on itself, that's where our trucks wear the hardest, putholes like 15 cm deep is quite normal, and in the Port's (Antwerp) its al from dose small stones 15 15 cm, they rattle everting loose, fenders batteryboxxes fueltanks, i drive a lot of big bags with a curten sider in the port with very thin material in it its just like water, if yo drive on these smal roads you can see the big bags getting bigger aganist the curtens, strapping them down is imposible, so whe drive slowly but quite normale speeds.

      Hi Darcy. Yes I'm sure there would be work doing day trips to Sydney out of Canberra. Collins Adelaide has drivers coming from Adelaide to Goulburn, Yass, Gunning. a local driver takes it to Sydney and back, various hours of the day. Abblettes, startrack, TNT. I'm sure all do deliveries to Sydney. and tipper work aswell.
      Look for companies out of Sydney possibly to be able to do the job in reverse, do Sydney pick up then return to do deliveries in Canberra.
      Good luck hope this gives you some ideas.

    On the issue of tailgating, everyone driver from car to truck will do it at some stage unintentionally but majority of drivers do not keep enough gap and some drivers try to use it as a tactic to bully other road users which is dangerous and that behaviour especially from truck drivers makes the industry look like a bunch of cowboys. Also it is often hard especially in a truck to move over from the right lane safely into the left lane because the traffic is so bunched up from every driver tailgating keeping a 10-30m rather than legal 3 second gap which is 84m at 100km/h. As a result there is many trucks which are stuck in the right lane and squeezing into a small gap has quite a lot of risk especially in a truck. In theory a truck needs 4 seconds following distance or 112metres at 100km/h to travel safely, plus 19 or 26 metres plus another 84 metres for a car following, this equals a 215-221m gap for a truck to safety move into but who on earth is going to yield that much space?

    PS can't believe they bother with fake dual exhaust, what about the extra weight and extra cost

    • @australiantruckerrod1070
      @australiantruckerrod1070  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I never even asked about the motor, just put in drive a go for me. It would be around 600 - 620hp.
      Exhaust is just for show. Extra weight would not be a problem, cost might not be worth it, possibly offset by not replacing other standard parts like bumper, taillights.
