    I love that you made it a point to ride this without power. No one talked about that enough. Ebikes like the Super 73 look amazing but without a charge super impractical

    I love my City Robin. I ride 5.8 miles one way to work daily on last year’s version here in Atlanta and it crushes the hills. Very comfortable ride…

    I can't imagine how many bike reviews I have watched on TH-cam....500 or more. You have done an extraordinary job in covering everything about the Euphree City Robin X. May be the best review I have ever watched. It is painful for me to watch EBR reviews. Your comments about the weight of the bike compared to fat tire bikes got my attention. Your honesty about the weight of the Euphree saved me from making the same mistake I made with my 65 pound Giant that I gave to my niece. I am a senior and handling a 60+ pound on/off a bike rack on the back of the car is extremely difficult. The Euphree is an impressive bike and anyone that watched your review will certainly be impressed to buy one. Unfortunately it's too heavy for me. I am adding you to my subscribed list. Thank you!

    The mat black is sharp looking, I like they add a front suspension fork. A lot of the 2.1-2.4 tire ebikes don’t come with a front suspension fork and you don’t realize how much extra comfort they provide until you have a bike that don’t have the suspension fork. I also love the suntour seat post I have it on two of my bikes, I just wish all the manufacturers would agree on one seat post size so I can have just one seat and seat post and swap it out with the bike I chose to ride that day. Unfortunately right now I have three bikes and all three have different seat post size.😂

    • @CitizenCycle925
      @CitizenCycle925  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just buy a couple extra shims so you don't have to change posts, that's what I did 🙂

    • @E-BikingAdventures
      @E-BikingAdventures ปีที่แล้ว

      That's not true. Most ebikes have front suspension regardless of tire size. Unless it's some econo ebike under $1000. Of course you might find an exception to suport your claim, but you make it sound like it's rare.

    Excellent review! I have a Bixtrix Swift Lite 3 which I like even though it has less power. The Euphree City Robin X seems like an excellent bike for me. I am 77, only 5'6" so weight is certainly a concern of mine and this bike seems to tick most of the boxes.

    Another excellent review by the Citizen, and Mrs. C. The Robin X is at the top of my list. The price went slightly above $2k, but it seems well worth it. I always shop for value, not just price. The suspension seat post alone is $115 on Amazon today and works great. I have one on my non-ebike. And the seat looks functional, which will save $50 for a replacement. Almost no bikes have a brake light, maybe just a rear light. What would an add-on break light cost? And the front light is well above average. Plenty of unique features mentioned to justify a $2.1k price. Only other high-quality thing not mentioned (maybe I missed it) was the double-sided Chain Ring guard. Great job Mr. C. Thank you for the clear presentation and advice on when a fat tire bike makes sense.

    I've followed your feed since you started. Great job always so enthusiastic and practical. I've got mobility issues and sadly have to part with my Rad Rover 5. It's got a comfortable Buckaroo seat, Bolton controller upgrade, hydrolyc brakes, Origen Super Cell tires with Tannis Armour. All thanks to you. I want to go back to a normal road bike. How well does the City Robin X compare to what I have? My rides are all flat asphalt with a few steep hills.

    • @CitizenCycle925
      @CitizenCycle925  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Neil thanks for following my channel, sorry that you have to part with your custom rad Rover but it will be fun to try new bike. The step through of the city Robin will be much easier on your mobility. If you want a normal bike feeling it will certainly provide that as well. With the suspension seat post they use It's a very comfortable ride. It will definitely have nowhere near the power of your controller upgraded rad bike though.

      @neilpowell6191 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the prompt feedback. I'm up in BC Canada so I don't get any chance to test these bikes and rely on channels like yours and other riders comments. In your opinion would I be better off looking at the step through MagiCycle 700w 52v version. I'm retired and ride 40 k a day for exercise. My son is pushing me to opt out and go crank drive but I can't justify the price. I also like stage 3 e-bikes that can hit 28mph 45 kph. 20mph 32 kph is so slow. I have two good hills on my ride but the peddling will do me good.

    These companies realize that a lot of seniors are buying e bikes and this is why you see so many step thru new models being introduced. Looks a lot like the new Bolton Blackbird step thru.

    • @jimmyjames8736
      @jimmyjames8736 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I think a big part of step thru ebike popularity relates to rear rack usage. Ebikes are handy for errands but if you put something tall like a basket of groceries on the rear rack then getting on and off becomes difficult if the bike is not a step thru.

    Yup.... your right, you're not a cyclist if you think 54.5 lbs.( w/o battery) is a lite bike! When I go bikepacking my acoustic fat bike weighs between 60-63 lbs. (depending on gear selection) completely outfitted with camping gear. I'm not anti-E-bike they have there place but I am anti-cheap bike. Alot of the weight from E-Bikes isn't just because of the motor and battery- they use cheaper components, ( brakes, rotors, crank arms etc.) which adds to the bikes overall weight.

    Over all it looks like a nice bike. What I don’t like is the ultra cheap derailure, even if it’s working properly. Rad put on their Rad City 5, a normal 8 speed Acera bit they have gone with a 11-42 cassette, what makes the bike way more versataile. I don’t understand these completely outdated cassettes like you see it on this bike. If cheap isn’t cheap enough.
    The Rad is 1899€ inkl tax here in Europe and it come with a torque sensor. From my perspective, thats the better deal even with just a magnet sensor.

    I like the look of this bike..I'm surprised i said that because i found in the past that 98-99%
    of e-bikes look horrible.frames are gawdy..4" fat tires over-rated..The computer display on this bike fits the size and style of the handlebars..my DIY e-bike build has a computer the size of my phone..looks out of place..too big. But for 2000$ i got new everything..and a 2000w battery and motor. Factory e-bikes are rip-offs..250-350 watt motors $3000. kenda tires not maxxis..20-28 miles per hour to my 52 miles/hour..Without my new upgrades a china based company sold me an e-bike kit w/2000w battery and motor for $735.. Cad funds..and i love the look of my build..its not outlandish and its unique..one of a kind..i don't see why this bike being rated is $2000.00 USD It's nice yes but too costly..build your own..get what you should really get for $2000.00 P.s insurance companies now insure e-bikes for theft or damage..I pay $120.00/year..the same amount you would pay for a mid size motorcycle..so get protected and your never too old to have fun..Just Saying. :) :) :)
