  • How to change rear springs / rear coil springs / rear suspension springs on VW PASSAT B6 (3C5) 2.0 Estate 2005-2010 [TUTORIAL AUTODOC]
    Springs on AUDI Q3 (8UB, 8UG) (06.2011-...) / SEAT Alhambra II (710, 711) (06.2010-...) / VW CC (358) (11.2011-...) / VW Passat B7 Variant (365) (08.2010-12.2014) / VW Tiguan I (5N) (09.2007-...) cars should be replaced, as a rule, according to one and the same procedure.

    0:31 - Unscrew the wheel bolts.
    1:59 - Unscrew the fastener connecting the control arm to the rear knuckle.
    4:30 - Install a new coil spring on the coil spring compressor.
    6:32 - Release the coil spring by turning the lead screw of the coil spring compressor.
    8:14 - Screw in the wheel bolts.

    - WD-40 spray
    - brake cleaner

    - combination spanner No.18
    - drive socket No.18
    - wheel impact socket №17
    - ratchet wrench

    Why are you going true all that , all you need to do is undo the 18 mil bolt closest to the hubs and the spring will easily come out ..

    your videos are good as they are. The older cars you work on, the more chances there are that people work on theirs.
    It would be good to show some repairs without the ramp, as not many have them.

      not rely you dont need too take both bolts one side is good much quicker,weist time

      autodoc.co.uk if therecis no problem with coil spring … its better to change it to give more hight and support for vehicle … becuze old one is become soft and mushy related of using and age of car ???

    is spring compressor needed? wondering why the spring didn't fly out as it was under load when you lowered the suspension arm.

      You are right and in this case, it is better to use spring clamps, so the replacement will take place without the risk of the spring being fly out.

      After any work related to the suspension of the car, it is recommended to adjust the wheel alignment.
