- We absolutely LOVE this dip technique for Xmas baubles- Let us at Vibey Creatives know if you have seen this technique on other TH-cam Xmas ornament videos.
The dip technique uses a lot of paint - however, at the base of the cup - it is mostly white paint - similar to how one would apply a base quote to canvas. With the amount of paint used in the video- you could get at least 4 to 5 baubles painted. The trick is to immerse the baubles very very very slowly into the paint and lift very slowly too.
The excess paint can be used for a Dutch pour - just add a bit more white paint and water to thin it out- it will be a bit greyish/brownish- but adding a b it more white makes it an interesting muted base color.
Let us know what you think of this technique.

Do you have to seal them with something? I would think the paint might scratch or flake off.
Did you dip the ornaments in a base color before you dip them in the actual color
These turned out really beautiful I want to try this but after dipping the the ornament in the paint how do you get the stick in it without messing it up 🤔🤔🤔
Hi Laura - put the stick in before you start dipping. It is also good to cover the baubel with a multipurpose primer first so the acrylic paints don't break up.
@@vibeycreatives7698 how so you keep the stick inside and easily pull it out?
Is this straight acrylic paint or do you add a pouring medium?
What do you use as a stick inside the ornament?
Hi - Just wooden skewers
Well why didn’t you answer the question on how you mix your paint???? You don’t give any info on that…. 🤨🙄
