I remember how pissed everyone who did these quests were, when these quests were removed and you could just learn the mounts with a simple click of your mouse.
I don't see the big deal you have bragging rites over everyone for eternity, plus people would just solo them devaluing with every power gain players got
the quest to the pally and warlock q for the mount back then was not soloable back then you have to get a party to do the mount q back in vanilla so that was a lot talking in lfg chanle back then to get ppl to help you
@Erin Joyce Exactly. I don't mind that they were given away in the later versions of the game. I just don't think that you should devalue the hard work of old school players by giving away the same version of the mount. Blizzard reskins the same mounts all the time, all they had to do was reskin 2 mounts and there would have been no problems at all.
MadSeasonShow idk if you've done a video on it. But the 2h Mace for lvl 20 Paladins back in Vanilla to get Verigand Fist might be interesting for your Arsenal series!
Hi, i hope you you will read this. So, just any warlock was able to talk to already summoned spirit and get a mount or you would need to have last quest just without need to summoning horse youreself and spend gold to that goblin?
Funny story: while everyone struggled with getting their epic mounts, i just casually won a roll for Rivendare's charger for my undead mage. I swear, the moment the dungeon ended i rushed to the trainer and didn't even think twice before paying 800 gold which was a fortune back then. Funny thing is i almost declined that party invite because i wanted to pvp...
I got it with me DK but... 4 years of farming with my Warrior and it never dropped. Hit level 70 with my DK alt and FIRST Time I went into Strath the damn thing dropped. No shared mounts back then
If you didn’t farm the materials yourself, depending on the server economy 800g was as much if not less than paying for the mount items. I got into plenty of arguments about that because I was so smug about doing the mount quests myself lol
07:05 dreadsteed questchain starts here also im pretty sure its 3 arcanite bars, 10 elixirs and 35 dragonscales Edit: IT IS 3 arcanite bars 10 elixirs and 35 dragonscales!
When quests were really epic and friends were needed to complete them. That was the special spice of playing World of Warcraft back in the days. Many thanks for your nice videos. They bring back so many good memories....
Yup, that was the biggest aspect between new and old WoW. Playing now feels like you're always alone despite sometimes doing raids with others. Don't really feel part of something.
I remember when I first start playing WoW, i had a paladin and the first time that I walked by Stormwind. There were 3 paladins with epic mounts and I promised myself that I would do whatever it took to get my epic mount. I had no idea how hard it was going to be. I did eventually do it by looking up how to do the quest but it was an expensive and I had a guild who helped me out. it was great to complete it but I would not do that again today. Eventually Paladins were just given the epic mount by asking. Update: I began playing WoW classic and had to do this quest again for the Paladin mount but this time I had much better money making ways as an herbalist / alchemist so I was making more money than back in Vanilla. It was still satisfying when the quest chain was over and I have the mount again.
My first 60 was an undead warlock. My second 60 was a human paladin. Life was good back then. 😊 Funfact: my warlock would make extra gold by doing summoning runs. People would pay me 100g rather than buy the reagents themselves.
I would like to explain something. I started my 1st character in december 2004, a warlock. If you never played one back then, you may not know, but warlocks had the most stupid class quests back then. By that i meant, there was a LOT of travel included, not to mention that most quests only gave very vague references to where the items you were looking for were... Think of every warlock quest as a "Mankrik's wife" quest but with traveling all around the world. Don't get me wrong, the quests were awesome, i love them for how complex they were, how hard and time consuming they were too... So that free mount at level 40 felt like some sort of apology from Blizzard for all the work we had to go tru the previous levels, just to unlock our pets... Yes back then, pets werent given to you... at level 10 you had to do the voidwaker quest, in Elwyn Forest for Alliance... not big deal... but starting from level 20 for the succubus, you had to travel all around the glove, from SW to IF to Ratchet to Barrens to Ashenvale... It was ridicoulus and often took hours to find the npc or the location of the item you needed to loot... Hunters in the other hand could just tame any pet anywhere... And the demon quests werent the only class quests...
Lol i still remember the infernal quest with that crazy gnome in Felwood summoning that demonic chicken...i almost died when it attacked me, i just wasn't ready.
Except hunters had to deal with training a specific ability to their main pet from acquiring others to use that ability on mobs a few times for them to be unlocked to teach to your main pet afterward. It was also time consuming. And also the fact of keeping up with their loyalty bonuses/cons. You *could* just do the lazy/smart thing and level yourself up with your base pet til max then go and tame another with those already higher ranked abilities. Also some rares had special abilities which proved very beneficial in PvP/PvE. Each class had their pros and cons to be honest, to assume it was "simply a tame" is not a good point. Tidbit, class specific quests were also applicable to majority, Druids for their forms, Shamans for totems, Rogues had those skill ups for poisons and lockpicking...etc
@@curiousfishie Yeah pets are a lot complex than "do ability on meat stick and ur good for 60 levels with your dps stick". Every few levels you have to get upgraded abilities for your current pet. Have Bite 1 and need Bite 2? You have to tame a creature with Bite 2 and use the pet until you actually learn the ability permanently. And this applies to EVERY creatures' class ability(s). Different classes of pets had pros and cons. Cats are high damage dealers but have low armor, and Bears have high health but deal low damage. Creatures you can tame also have different attack speeds. If you wanted the pet with the highest attack speed in the game, then it took a mountain of luck and time. Broken Tooth, a rare spawn cat in the Badlands, has a 1.0 attack speed. This cat, when killed or tamed, has a 6-8 hour respawn timer. This meant you either had to spend HOURS on end camping the spawn points or just one day have to get lucky and maybe come across him with a run through the Badlands. Even using the "run through the Badlands everyday for few minutes to check" strategy, you may NEVER get Broken Tooth.
yeah bro i played lock, had no idea what i was doing, was clicking my moves L0L, took forever to get the succubus! Also in fel-wood i remember there was a quest line too and my computer glitched and the ground looked fucked, i called it the fel-wood fever
@@rceolin8189 Felwood had a quest at lvl 50 for a robe, a staff or a trinket to summon your voidwaker without needing a soulshard. Also a quest to lern to summon your own infernal. At 60, there was also a few quests there, part of the chain to get your epic mount, specificaly you needed to infiltrate Jaedenar to get some duts from the demon world of Xoro'th to use it in the creation of the scroll that would summon the Dreadsteed in Dire Maul :)
I remember getting my lock mount in TBC. A friend i met in game helped me get it. I was so excited when I summoned it for the first time. Man what a feeling :) . If your rep was high enough, idr which faction, the total cost was 1200g. A lot of gold back then but man was the end result worth it
14 years later I still remember the moment I finally got the dreadsteed. Also still remember the moment I got my first epicloot. It felt so goddamn epic. Last time I played (2 years ago) epicloot was just a small upgrade, nothing special at all. Just like you said, just purple, nothing more. And epicmounts? Nothing special either. It's not even really special to be roaming around on some rare mount
Diego Carretero that doesn't sound bad, So that means you probably finished it in less than a day taking breaks and casually doing it...watching tv and whatnot, right?
I will always have great memories of the Warlock mount quest. My warlock was my first alt. I slowly earned the gold and did the quests to get all of the mats required for the final step in Dire Maul. Given the dungeons back at that time and the time requirement for the questing, I was hesitant to even ask my guild for help. They were a tight-knit group and was rather new to the guild. I timidly asked if anyone would be willing to help and was astounded that our guild main tank, healer, and tenured geared folks jumped at the opportunity to help. We trekked out to Dire Maul, made our way to the summoning chamber and tamed the mount. The genuine enthusiasm to help and the sincerity of their congratulations will keep the etched forever in my mind. Good times and great memories. And it's still one of the finest mount models in the game IMO - quite a feat considering its age and how far we've come in mount models.
TonyBone21 great story.. I kinda expected a ' ... We made it to the final room and then I discovered I forgot a quest item in the bank and brought something with the same icon... And i Died Of Shame.... lol
Man I get more and more flashbacks reading comments here. I was just a fresh 60 when I rerolled from a hunter because I wanted in the top guild, not because of epix, but because they were the most competent and feared. The heroes of any random large scale open world pvp. And like in your story the main tank and healer helped me out and it felt amazing to have this insanely good group help you out because you know how much harder those dungeons usually were with random people (even if competent and helpful themselves, most people were super nice and patient back then) but just no as geared and coordinated like your top guild. And it made you so proud being part of it, then slaying your first dragon, posing as a fresh 60 with your epic mount, helping others, making your name on the server. Like you would just insta win BG's if a random group saw even half your guild present. Good times. Some of the best waste of time of my life.
Blackadder75 I did that quest with my blood elf warlock with some irl friends. Then one if them bring into the game a very obnoxius guy who wanted to be piggybacked all the way to end of the quest (he also used those chinese farming services). He ignored when i told him that he needed to bring a lot of soul stones. And when he couldnt end the quest guess who was pissed off with whom?
I literally got my Charger 2 weeks before TBC, absolutely epic feeling to finally complete it and have the coolest of the Classic mounts. Huge grind but what a sense of accomplishment you got. Then they changed it 😤
I was the 2nd warlock on my server to get the epic warlock mount. The two of us used to sit next to each other in Org and show off I owed a few favors after gettimg it too Truly epic stuff!!
So did I. In my guild I was 1 of 3 warlocks going into MC and the only one that could make the time consistently. During the first month, hours and hours each week of trying to kill bosses warlock gear was dropping like crazy and I was the only warlock usually. I was first to get full T1 and was topping the dps chart for months after. Warlocks were heavily overlooked back then. It was nice to see them grow the next few years.
Me too, even though I haven't played that lock since the beginning of wrath. Have a lot of cool and rare stuff on that character - sucks though as I never play it. :(
Ya, I haven't played that character since Cata. But he has all my cool items from the days of old. Like a Luffa, Moist Towelette, Linken's Sword of Mastery and Linken's Boomerang. I was a hoarder back then. :P
I did that exact trick on my warlock. I had met a warlock who had gotten most of the quests out of the way but didn't have the potions or arcane bar, and I happened to be be an alchemist with both those recipies. We banded together and got both of ours together. Fun memories
1:31 - lol @ the statement about not having a mount in the 50s. Back then, they didn't have a dungeon reset limit. So for almost a week, a group of guildies of mine re-ran a wing of Scarlet Monastery for hours on end selling green and blue drops off mobs until we had the gold to get our level 40 mounts. Man... when I went to buy that mount... it felt so epic.
I remember doing my lock mount quest back in the day. Members of my guild helped me out and 2 guild leaders lent me the gold. When finished they told me I better see you on that mount all the time.
Imagine the excitement of the people who had to figure this out in the beginning before all the guides and general knowledge of the game. Must of been Epic
I used to have those materials as a warlock and I used to charge 100 gold to run the instance. We ran the instance with 5 warlocks using voidwalkers as tanks. It was fun!
This gave me a throwback to hayven. With that said, I kinda wish they'd just leave the quests in, but tune them (if that was even possible) just so they'd still be a bit of a challenge. All in all another good ep of time warp
Remember doing all this in TBC, such good times really. It was hard, yes. But that was the awesome thing about it. If it's easy to get, it destroys the pride. Like the things in Legion, there is some examples of that kind of farm aswell. Like the 3rd Artifact Weapon, it feels so great to achieve that! :D
I remember struggling with this quest line to get my charger for my blood elf pally. Thankfully one day I met a lvl 70 belt pally who was willing to help me through it. To this day I am thankful for his help. In a way, he was sorta my character's mentor on his way to becoming a full fledged paladin. Thanks Corce of Hydraxis!
When the warlock quest came out the items to complete it were very expressive, back then at least. Me and 2 other warlocks put our gold together and I bought the items. We then got a warrior and priest and did it in the middle of the night. With that group set up it was tough. We were all noobs and spent a good hour wiping. But still... Vanilla was the best of times.
By far the best day i had in WoW, i was the first on my server to get the epic pally mount and in the proces of obtaining it, i looted 'Destiny' epic two-handed sword. Man i was one proud Paladin. Good times.
The free mount is the reason my first two toons were pally and lock. And they were a pain to do. The quests for both long and both boss fights were tuff aswell. But damn they were fun.
These quests were awesome. I did the Warlock one and it's one of my favourite WOW memories. Even in TBC Classic it wasn't too common to see the Dreadmount, and I knew when I saw another guy with it that he was serious. Now all Warlocks have it in Wrath where you basically learn it for a handful of gold .
I still hate the fact that blizzard just let anyone buy the blood knight tabard after they did away with this major quest line... It really took away the "i have something that dignifies my work and class fantasy" to "Oh... I have nothing but legacy achievement no one will ever see" >.>
I loved these kind of quests. They are the kind of things that made Vanilla so much more fun. I remember giving Pallys and Locks a hard time about getting their mounts for free, until I did both chains myself and realized all they were saving was the mount cost, but still spending nearly the same amount as mount training for the quest chains.
I remember grinding Felcloth for 4 days to get my hunters 100% speed mount and thought Pallies and Locks were so lucky to get a free mount. Until I levelled a Pally and did it myself. Like you say, it wasn't easy or cheap. Luckily I had in game friends to help me. I still love my 100% speed mount on my Pally though, and still use my Epic mount on my hunter out of principle lol. Great vid as always, thanks for the Nostalgia feels.
I remember doing these quests. The most memorable was the warlock since that was my main back then. The quests were pretty tough but the experience of it all was so awesome. I miss stuff like this in the game!!
I remember doing the whole questline to get my Dreadsteed. It was rough, and I had a few friends help me with the final part. I was also the nice guy who shared my items to help another lock in the group get his as well. Hard as heck, but so much fun!
this brings back wonderful memories! I loved the use of the Legend of Zelda overworld theme in the background as well. I lucked out on my Dreadsteed, I had a lock that had been max level for a while prior to me getting the cap, and he was able to help me finish my mount quest. man, when I first got my level 40 mount I legit ran from Org to TB... it was fun, lol. Then when I got my 100% mount... it was just so epic. I miss vanilla wow in some ways, but the game still has some value
There was a bug you didn't mention in this video sadly. There was an exploit that Rogues could do all the way up until Wrath where you could get the blood knight tabard. It was also awarded from the level 50 quest chain going into blackrock depths and doing their class missions to get a helmet as a reward. Gamon used to walk around old Orgrimmar and everyone would kill him. As a Paladin there was a part where you had to talk to him to get a letter to learn where the shipments are. If you were a Rogue, you could skip the entirety of the quest chain and just get the letter by distracting Gamon and then pick pocketing him. It would activate the quest and you would then go into blackrock depths and do the quest as if you were a paladin. And also turn it into the paladin quest giver. He would then do his RP and give you the blood knight tabard. The funniest part is they tried to "fix" the exploit by making the tabard class restricted in LOLOLOLOLegion. If you were remove the tabard in the legion expansion, or didn't, for some reason, have it equipped and legion was released, you can never equip it ever again. Just for a bit of proof too, worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/character/baelgun/unknowndemon is my armory for my Rogue. Bit of a nice throwback as well! Nice video! :)
I soloed the warlock quest on my warlock to get the warlock mount during the northrend expansion due to being guildless and no one being interested in helping, this was on a eu server. the paladin mount I did in vanilla because our guild leader was interested in going through the process of getting the mount so I got help on the dungeon parts, I also helped a warlock in the guild get his warlock mount along with the same guild leader who was also interested in how the warlock got their mount. (spent many days very late at night grinding arcane crystal from rich thorium ore node, due to the arcane crystals to make arcanite has a better drop rate from rich nodes) (not easy when the server at the time was full of non-european gold farmers, who strangely disappeared between 2:00am and 3:00am, which left me a hour to farm them darn nodes)
i had a pally and lock, so did both quests, but easily made all the gold back and then some selling mount runs. also sold attunement to the core quests too by taking people on the shortcut run with invis pots, and fire resist pots
One of my favorite memories from WoW was the level 60 Pally mount quest, he was my first 60. I found a group of 4 other paladins looking to finish the quest, so we 5 man holy hand grenaded through Scholo. Because the spirit waves could only be killed by the correct judgement of a seal, having more pallies made it that much easier. Good times.
My first ever 60 was an orc warlock - loved that quest line, enjoyed it very much. Felt very immersive and...warlocky. The lab in Scholomance is the one where alchemists had to go in order to make flasks if i remember it right...it's in the same room with the end boss, the lich Ras Frostwhisper. I also remember i saved a bunch of gold on mats - the candle, bell and lodestone were permament, so you could in theory go with another warlock and have him use his. I think i just got one of them so i could help him recharge the summoning circle..and i payed him some gold too. Worth it.
im super late to the party here but the listings for the dreadsteed quest of 3 black dragonscale, and 1 arcanite bar as well as 2 elixir of shadow power are the TBC requirements in vanilla it was 35 Black dragonscales, 3 arcanite bars, and 10 elixirs of shadow power. all of the other listed materials are correct to date though :) great video as always (sorry if someone already mentioned this i sorta just skimmed the comments. didnt really take the time to look)
As an added note, Paladins got their own Class only mount in Wrath of the Lich King (Still obtainable today in Retail but is worth mentioning) which is the Argent Charger, which required exalted with all of your racial factions up to Wrath and Argent Crusade, and some time consuming currency with the Argent Tournament to buy the mount along with it's all class Argent Warhorse, but the reward was an Argent Crusader reskin of the paladin's Charger mount and Thalassian Charger too.
He he, I am still proud of myself to do the both quest chains 13 years ago. Nice to mention, the Scholomance parts require only 5 players in instance, else the parchemnt in lab for warlock, nor the cellar scenario for paladin were possible to complete. Yeah, 5 players in 10 men instance. That was a challenge. I remember the lab part was possible to make if you leave the party, and during those 60 seconds you do all the quest requirements, getting invited back into 10 players play :D Shortcut to basement for the paladin part was also a blessing for 5 players. Aaaah, such good memories.
I got the warlock mount quest chain. I just remeber finally getting it and feeling so accomplished! I wish each class had some kind of special mount quest like these did.
I remember doing the blood knight charger quests back in bc, its really too bad they took out the unique class quests from the game. I actually felt like I was playing a class with its own story. Now everything is the same it seems.
Man I remember taking literal gold loans from buddies for around 500 of the gold just to be able to get my lock mount farming was so difficult for a hard dedicated grinder like me...i want to go through that again lol i still owe ~355 gold to someone lol. Great vid as always Mad
I loved watching that first part saying it's not uncommon to see 60s running around with 60% speed mounts, cuz of layering you can easily farm your epic mount in days
I’m glad I started this game in December of 2021. I tried Classic for a couple of weeks then started Shadowlands. Having flying mounts makes a world of difference for me. I’d give up and leave the game without that.
Fun story! When I was younger me my friends and my brother always played WoW when we came home and we thought 40 was a huge level and you'd have to be a insane person to get to that level. When we would fly to iron Forge we'd would see the alter of storms ( 7:13 ) and we said that satanic rituals would happen there. Like real players sacrificing like random mobs and summoning portals to the underworld or something along the line of that. Me and my friends were terrified of the alter of storms. Like my brother had actually nightmares. So kinda Dumb. We thought this till we went there when we got to 35... we got killed brutally by a dragon and a horde player. *I'm level 120 now, good times*
I played a Lock and my cousin played a Pally and we helped each other do these quests back in the day. The memories!! I have all the ritual items in my bank to this day on my warlock although i've since transferred servers and started maining a shaman. I kinda think I didn't have enuf gold at the time to buy the item from the demon and had to go farm and do that shit again lol. But i made that money back a few times over selling the ritual to other locks!! Thank god we have icy-veins, wowhead and etc this day and age lol. I miss those early days when the EK and Kali felt like these huge worlds to travel and explore.
I did this quest line. It was over 800 gold to get the mount. A ton of money at that time. Took forever to get the mats and get a group together. It was awesome and I still remember it all these years later. Still have all the mats in my bank. Great times.
SliQster I always wondered why I took mining on my warlock... I thought maybe for engineering... but I think you are right and that I chose engineering because I needed mining......
I still have the summoning items on my warlock. So much time spent farming black dragon scales with my friends in the Badlands! When it came time to summon the horse in Dire Maul, we didn't have a tank so my dear friend tanked the place on his enhance shammy. It took a while but we got it done!
Back in vanilla we had a warlock in guild who was first of the bat to get the regants for the summoning of the Dreadstead. He sure wanted to help other guildies out and as the warlock mount looks evil there's 4 warlocks in the guild that always did roleplay as the 4 horsemen! Well as ally we do think that did look badass back then as we couldn't manage to do the tribute runs for Rivendares reins in the amount we so desired this was probably the clostest result :P
I had a warlock in Vanilla, remember partnering up with 2 other locks and a tank+heals. What you need to have in order to recharge the ritual items is the Black Lodestone, so i bought that, and paid some money to the other lock for use of his other mats. The more warlocks you have in your party, the easier it is - not only you can all recharge the items, but you can also Enslave Demon the elite Felguards coming in and set on aggressive to destroy the imps. As soon as the ritual is done, all the demons get pulled back to Xoroth - at this point you can release your demon and he will be gone as well. The paladin end boss - Deathknight Darkreaver - is also summonable by Horde. Shamans have a quest that rewards you with an epic helm for killing him. Again - the more paladins you have the better, as each wave of undead adds is vulnerable to a specific paladin seal and judgement. Do it right and the adds are easy.
Nice video. I really thought, back in the days, that warlocks & Paladin got their mount for free. 'by doing an easy quest chain'.. Well, now i know. :p
guess how much gold the npc wants for the items for vial of sands. @Weeaboos Hunter wasn't it 20 gold or something? I remember it got changed and you could buy mount at level 20.
I didn’t have professions but just started doing the quest in west and eastern plaguelands all day, then suddenly I had like 600g on top of the amount I already had. Was able to stumble and make friends with two paladins doing the same quest and we ended up doing most of it and I finished scholomance quest with a different group. Was fun.
I was incredibly lucky back in classic. My guild was running Strat and a PBD dropped, they gave it to my Paladin! It really did make my mount much cheaper.
Never did the Pally line but I did the Warlock line back in the way. It was beyond epic. And as a Warlock you can actually solo many of the elite parts (because Warlock xD) but it's very hard and challenging. Finally completing it really meant something, especially because most mounts back in the day looked kind of meh, and lots of Warlocks didn't actually bother to complete this quest. It was really something special. It is one of the most epic and memorable experiences I had in my wow playtime and would recommend every Warlock to do it come Classic!
getting the paladin mount was so rewarding, fuck riding the belf turkey... then farming enough wool cloth to get the purple skeleton horse was also awesome
This was one of the hardest quests to do as a paladin. You had to convince 4 other players to come do something incredibly hard and unrewarding for them. When I was getting my epic mount the majority of players didnt have an epic mount yet and it was even harder to convince someone to do it because they couldnt have their mount. The paladin quest log used to cost you a pile of gold and it was probably more than buying a flat rate because you could buy things off the ah for them
damn i feel so good since i did all the adventures for my paladin's mount on vanilla and i still remember how happy i was back then when i finally got it ,,
I did the Paladin mount quest chain on my Blood Elf Paladin, back in WOTLK, before it was taken out. It didn't cost me too terribly much as I already had many of the mats for the quest turn-ins. And I loved the entire chain! The lore involved was awesome, and I'd love to see more and more similar quests added. I've not played since MoP, so maybe it has. I'll be finding out quite soon.
I also did the questline on my pally the night before it was removed and i'm trying to remember if there was an achievement/feat of strength given out for those that had completed it (much like the maxing of weapon skills to 100 prior to the removal of that)
I dunno if anyone mentioned this, but at 8:30 I believe those reagents were the REDUCED cost later introduced in The Burning Crusade. In Vanilla you needed like 35 scales, 10 large brilliant shards, like 5 or 6 arcanite and like 10 or 20 more ore. Either way, minor detail. Great video though.
I managed to get my Dreadsteed when I first started during late TBC. I wasn't level 70 yet and I wound up using basically all of the money I gained from questing and anything else just to afford it. I spent *hours* in Dire Maul just trying to get to the point where we could fight the boss and somehow we just barely beat it on the first try. We wiped just as the boss summoning ritual ended, but since it *did* finish, we got to kill the boss and I got my steed before I was done questing in Hellfire Peninsula.
Man I did love doing the quest on my Paly and my Lock back in the day was such a great time along with doing the The Forging of Quel'Serrar on my pally
I would be very thankful if you could tell me what's the name of song played in background while talking about getting pally's mount. At 4:10 for example
I remember how pissed everyone who did these quests were, when these quests were removed and you could just learn the mounts with a simple click of your mouse.
I don't see the big deal you have bragging rites over everyone for eternity, plus people would just solo them devaluing with every power gain players got
the quest to the pally and warlock q for the mount back then was not soloable back then you have to get a party to do the mount q back in vanilla so that was a lot talking in lfg chanle back then to get ppl to help you
i think he meant the quest beeing soloable nowadays
All they would have had to do was make the trainable ones a different color. It'd take a graphic artist like 5 minutes.
Small correction with the imp jar: It was actually 300g. I show the correct amount on screen, but I said 150g for some reason
MadSeasonShow idk if you've done a video on it. But the 2h Mace for lvl 20 Paladins back in Vanilla to get Verigand Fist might be interesting for your Arsenal series!
Also the quest was 10 shadow elixirs not 2, it was reduced to 2 in TBC
@nomad jensen don't forget the Lightforged Blade from western plaugelands. :)
Hi, i hope you you will read this. So, just any warlock was able to talk to already summoned spirit and get a mount or you would need to have last quest just without need to summoning horse youreself and spend gold to that goblin?
I heard that all the warlocks get together and do it with one another, so as to split the cost. It's not a free epic mount, but it's really close.
Totally worth it
I still need to get that mount.
I got it with me DK but... 4 years of farming with my Warrior and it never dropped. Hit level 70 with my DK alt and FIRST Time I went into Strath the damn thing dropped. No shared mounts back then
Tyrant I
If you didn’t farm the materials yourself, depending on the server economy 800g was as much if not less than paying for the mount items. I got into plenty of arguments about that because I was so smug about doing the mount quests myself lol
The feeling when you spent 40+ hours on a single paladin mount.. And it was still worth it
07:05 dreadsteed questchain starts here
also im pretty sure its 3 arcanite bars, 10 elixirs and 35 dragonscales
Edit: IT IS 3 arcanite bars 10 elixirs and 35 dragonscales!
Vanilla WoW where quests were actually quests.
And you wasted your whole life completing them.
- and I loved it
Hmmm I could have sworn that quests are quests in retail...
Few and far between most just told you to kill mobs across the maps when you left starting areas
RedCape get off WoW videos, dipshit.
Hayven was working on the warlock quest chain video, sadly he passed away before finishing it :( I miss him
My first 60 was an undead warlock. My second 60 was a human paladin. Life was good back then. 😊
Funfact: my warlock would make extra gold by doing summoning runs. People would pay me 100g rather than buy the reagents themselves.
I thought you needed 200 Black and Azeroth Diamonds for a moment.
Thank you so much! This is my favorite series of any video on TH-cam, please dont ever stop making these!
Thanks for watching them! Glad you enjoy the series =)
I remember getting my lock mount in TBC. A friend i met in game helped me get it. I was so excited when I summoned it for the first time. Man what a feeling :) . If your rep was high enough, idr which faction, the total cost was 1200g. A lot of gold back then but man was the end result worth it
When epics of all kinds were actually epic.
Now they are just purple.
It's not even really special to be roaming around on some rare mount
my first purple drop was druid off hand hralinf flower it droped in silithus.
my first purple was mage t4 shoulders off of gruul
@@pyromike7237that’s a bit different than a world drop lol
i didn't even have a 100 gold at level 60
Same lol....being a plate class was rough
I am lvl 40 and i got 100 gold c:
I got 15gold when reaching lvl60.
I thought i was rich.
Than i saw people with their lvl60mount, and i realised i was a dirty peasant.9
I got my 100g at lvl 40 by farming a repeatable quest grabbing crabs in desolace that gave 50 silver each repeat xD
Diego Carretero that doesn't sound bad,
So that means you probably finished it in less than a day taking breaks and casually doing it...watching tv and whatnot, right?
@@mogaman28
I think you meant soul shards?
Yeah, the warlock epic mount is HAWT with those flames!
The two of us used to sit next to each other in Org and show off
I owed a few favors after gettimg it too
Truly epic stuff!!
Your vids are helping me prep for classic so much. I'm rolling a holy pally, thanks dude and keep up the vids!
I actually still have all the Warlock items on my main from back then.
same here. mained a warlock in MC/BWL
so do i!
I remember doing
my lock mount quest back in the day. Members of my guild helped me out and 2 guild leaders lent me the gold. When finished they told me I better see you on that mount all the time.
Love the nostalgia and memories I get from these videos
The epic druid flight form quest chain a pain in the ass ... costed a ton
This was such an achievement . I remember the satisfaction of completing the quest .
It was fun!
I find your videos very calming, sometimes I need that. I need it today.
I remember doing the Warlock mount quest. Did the Doomgaurd quest too. Kids these days, they don't know how easy they got it.
I remember finally doing my warlock mount quest. Felt great when I finally got it.
Ahhhh such good memories of doing the warlock class mounts in vanilla. It was hard but my guildies helped me out back in the day.
Woow I had no idea the Paladins Epic Mount quest chain was so beautiful and intricate. Thanks for sharing.
Well look out, these quests are back!! Classic in 4 days!!
I have nothing but legacy achievement no one will ever see" >.>
Yeah its like giving away medals to a soldier just because they want it and participate
I almost forgot all this. Then I remembered again. Such nostalgia
I spent between 650 and 700g to get the paladin mount. Was so damn happy when I got it I rode all the way from stratholme to booty bay in celebration.
I meant to put 100% speed mount.
Apologies!
I love all the class quest, quest for all your warlock pets and mounts, Lets not forget the Hunter and priest epic weapon quest. Those were awesome!
this brings back wonderful memories!
Jesus that Paladin mount quest was so awesome/tedious. I still remember completing it back in Vanilla, such a great memory!
I remember doing this quest on my warlock can't wait to do it again. I miss the crazy warlock quests. earning my pets was such a fun experience.
Nice video! :)
Just got mine on Northdale, thanks a lot for the informative yet entertaining video !
Cheers keep up the good work !
I did that Paladin quest in BC, it was so hard but gave that mount so more meaning so made it more important and a status symbol.
(spent many days very late at night grinding arcane crystal from rich thorium ore node, due to the arcane crystals to make arcanite has a better drop rate from rich nodes) (not easy when the server at the time was full of non-european gold farmers, who strangely disappeared between 2:00am and 3:00am, which left me a hour to farm them darn nodes)
when rpg actually meant something
i had a pally and lock, so did both quests, but easily made all the gold back and then some selling mount runs. also sold attunement to the core quests too by taking people on the shortcut run with invis pots, and fire resist pots
Worth it.
Miss the time when quests sometimes were actually QUESTS.
First time I summoned that dreadsteed, i swear I let out two manly tears of happyness, that feeling made me main a warlock up to this day
I did both. The utter sense of accomplishment was overwhelming
im super late to the party here but the listings for the dreadsteed quest of 3 black dragonscale, and 1 arcanite bar as well as 2 elixir of shadow power are the TBC requirements in vanilla it was 35 Black dragonscales, 3 arcanite bars, and 10 elixirs of shadow power. all of the other listed materials are correct to date though :) great video as always (sorry if someone already mentioned this i sorta just skimmed the comments. didnt really take the time to look)
I remember the lab part was possible to make if you leave the party, and during those 60 seconds you do all the quest requirements, getting invited back into 10 players play :D
Shortcut to basement for the paladin part was also a blessing for 5 players.
Best memory of vanilla was getting my epic pally mount. Doing the quests and all that work, I really felt like I saved that horse.
I’m glad I started this game in December of 2021. I tried Classic for a couple of weeks then started Shadowlands. Having flying mounts makes a world of difference for me. I’d give up and leave the game without that.
10:22 Lord Hel'Nurath also drops the Netherlord's Accursed Wrathsteed mount for warlocks. Its the Purple horse
Mannnnnn I miss old warlock. So fun back then.
I miss those early days when the EK and Kali felt like these huge worlds to travel and explore.
man when i got my lvl 60 mount i was so happy, it took a lot of work plus you needed help from other player as well it was a pain in the ass...
I did this quest line. It was over 800 gold to get the mount. A ton of money at that time. Took forever to get the mats and get a group together. It was awesome and I still remember it all these years later. Still have all the mats in my bank. Great times.
This is why a lot of Pallies and Locks were Alchemists and Miners, and are to this day.
C'mooooon, I know you were. It's fine, dude, so were we all.
Only the lvl 40 paladins and warlock mounts are free
guess how much gold the npc wants for the items for vial of sands.
Was fun.
I remember helping guildie warlocks do that ridiculous quest chain.
I love the little intro tune to your videos.
This was one of the hardest quests to do as a paladin. You had to convince 4 other players to come do something incredibly hard and unrewarding for them. When I was getting my epic mount the majority of players didnt have an epic mount yet and it was even harder to convince someone to do it because they couldnt have their mount. The paladin quest log used to cost you a pile of gold and it was probably more than buying a flat rate because you could buy things off the ah for them
damn i feel so good since i did all the adventures for my paladin's mount on vanilla and i still remember how happy i was back then when i finally got it ,,
So glad I randomly found the Stockade Pauldrons JUST before hitting 60. If I didn't I would have never been able to afford my epic paly mount.
I remember this on my lock, felt so rewarding to finally get
I managed to get my Dreadsteed when I first started during late TBC.
Lol "summoning doodads" made me laugh, love your videos..
