Imagine if in red dead they used Micah like Attriox, comes in a cutscene in chapter one and beats Arthur half to death in a dramatic scene, then immediately after, Micah dies off screen and the main villain of the game, Ethan, is introduced but only communicates via the post office until the final boss fight.
Definitely agree with you guys. Something that has stuck with me after my play through of infinite was all the “marvel” type writing/humor that didn’t fit at all
The core gameplay of the multiplayer is amazing. Everything surrounding it isn’t. There’s not enough maps, classic modes are missing, no progression/levelling system, de-sync issues, no co-op campaign, cheating. And 343 are slow to introduce any new content. Its taking them 3 months to fix some mis-aligned cosmetics.
The most annoying thing is 343 claiming this game to be a live-service game, yet there haven't been any meaningful live services other than crappy store updates that no one cares about. Regardless of what you think of the game and Epic Games's workplace crunching, Fortnite, it had a meaningful live service with weekly updates and bi-weekly major updates that introduced new items. Halo Infinite is not that, and I think most people by now would agree they'd rather just see a complete game on launch.
People eventually are gonna realize when they look back that Infinite only got such a positive reception because the base sandbox gameplay from the original trilogy is timeless and still has value. Also because every other shooter coming out at the time was complete dog shit. It really shows just how desperate players are for something fun that the most bare bones Halo game in the last 12 years garners this much positivity. Halo Infinite is only “good” because players have such low standards and expectations nowadays. 343 finally has a general understanding of what makes a good Halo game from a gameplay perspective. It only took over a decade and countless fans screaming at them to get here. I wonder how long it’s gonna take for them to learn what a COMPLETE Halo game features.
In a year or less, the shininess of Infinite will wear off and the positive reception will fade. The campaign is average at best and its missing all the timeless iconic missions as you say.
It's hilarious that people like you try so hard to find a justification for people simply enjoying the game Halo infinite is good simply because it excels at creating a great storyline involving and expanding upon various characters and questions The gameplay allows players of all skill levels to play how they want, the world allows the best amount of exploration in any halo yet. The flaws of this game however are the lack of content that previous Halo titles had at launch and terrible monetization. But the rest of "serious issues" people are experiencing this game aren't as much of an issue as many think, and it honestly feels as if certain people call Halo infinite a "bad game" simply because it's not "Halo 3, you know the best halo game there ever is" "Halo infinite is a bad game because the Warhog isn't as faster as in Halo 3" type of people Overall Halo infinite is great experience with fatal flaws that prevent it from becoming a 10/10 But it's not as much of a dumpster fire as people like you think, and I can tell that you didn't enjoy neither have the same opinion as I have
Nah, it's a pretty lazy and boring game. People like you will defend it vehemently online but in the end time tells all so I really don't have to argue. I only see y'all online too lol, I have not met one person IRL face to face tell me they LOVED playing Halo Infinite's campaign or multiplayer 😂Not like any of the older titles. Hell, despite my disdain for 4 me and my buddies still popped it in the console and played it. The only reason people play this game is because all of Halo's competition dropped incredibly poor games. When better shooters come out, people will look back on this game with complete disgust. 343 has done nothing but fail for the past decade and will continue to do so if nothing changes.
Infinite's core gameplay is so fun that it's managed to keep us on side. But why Forge, Firefight, and all the amazing content they've built up over the last 20 years of Halo wasn't in-game from day 1 baffles me - would have been a home run.
The "Star Wars Problem" and the issue of stories not having anywhere to go is an interesting issue that highlights how fucked the entertainment industry is. There are so many series that have gone on WAY past they should have, due to making money, and some series will just never be as good as they were. It's crazy that games like Klonoa or whatever the fuck random rpg from 20 years ago will get a high budget remake, meanwhile like when was the last time these studios actually made something NEW?? like make something new instead of making these half baked nostalgia bait franchise life supports. Halo 3 should have been the last one, Spongebob should have ended with the movie. nothing will last forever and what we can hope for is new series that will pique our interest in ways we've never felt before, ironically enough the same feeling that the original series we loved provided at first.
I have an identical problem with things like The Simpsons. Hell I think most stuff under Disney feels like it’s overstaying the welcome. Even the MCU is starting to feel like a obligatory drag
@@jamesstanley792 Yeah the MCU… without Spider-Man Far from Nostalgia, who is actually excited for any films post-Endgame? I guess they have another wizard film and fat Thor and his space pals, but my god, it is tiresome to imagine Returnals 5 part 3 being advertised to me 24/7 until the end of time
Glad to hear someone else didn't feel like they needed to finish it. Everything felt kind of disconnected from a narrative standpoint, and I just couldn't care. 🙃
Halo ended in 2010 for me. They didn’t need to continue Master Chief and Cortana’s story when it already had a brilliant, unbudgeable ending. The universe that Bungie built can accommodate other stories, which was proven in ODST and Reach.
I think it's interesting seeing the contrast between Microsoft's two big franchise. Halo is like it doesn't know what it want's to be, and is constantly trying to reinvent itself. Compared to like, Gears of war, regardless of your opinion on the new games, still has its core identity there. It's still the same game for the most part, and knows what it's trying to be.
The thing with Gears is that it seems to have dropped of the radar somewhat despite a couple rumours regarding a MCC style remaster of the older games in development. I did have fun playing the older gears last year though.
Of course it is. Theres big numbers on my screen and every gamer worth their salt knows big is good. What, you think professional game journalists and marketers with integrity and work ethics would lie or exaggarate their opinions ?
343 is an absolutely talentless studio whose only real achivement is finally porting Halo to PC in a mostly working state (and I'm pretty sure most of that work was outsourced).
lmao you can't even get a job in any position of AAA development (animation, texturing, etc) if you don't have some kind of talent, you goober. The higher ups at 343 being completely clueless about how to run and manage a title like this doesn't make the people actually making the game talentless. Fix your brainrot.
No Halo campaign ever has been as short as 4 hours and I have no idea how someone could come to this conclusion. Even ODST is more then 8 and thats the shortest one. Might as well claim that LOTR is 90min.
Nah sorry lads it's great. It's not and never will reach the dizzying heights of Bungie's original series, but Infinite is far and away a masterpiece when compared to 4 and 5.
A pile of rocks is a masterpiece compared to 4 and 5, the gameplay is really fun but that's all you have here. It's a step in the right direction at least.
At this point, I think halo is literally the same as Pokemon. It's great for everyone's first fps when they're a kid. It's boring, dull, and corny as an adult. Honestly, I didnt even like Halo 3, and stopped following the franchise because of it. I also don't remember Halo 3 being liked by anyone but critics, but I was partying a lot in highschool at the time so a lot of my memory from then is pretty blurry lol.
nah, halo 3 was liked by pretty much everyone. It's been a console seller and the essentially the game that spread xbox live chat, you're remembering this one wrong for sure.
I honestly feel the fact that CoD Vanguard and the new Battlefield were so dog shit helped boosting this game positive reception.
The best part of this game was when Cortana basically made a youtube apology video
"I made a severe and continuous lapse in my judgement, and I don't expect to be forgiven. I'm simply here to apologise."
@@citizen3000 Did she do the sigh?
