I find it really interesting how Arthur tells John constantly to forget about the gang and vengeance and yet John ends up not heeding his advice and he goes after Micah for revenge which consequently leads to the detectives finding him and the events of RDR1
No because it would've tricked people into thinking the game is fast paced and action packed when it's really not about that all. It's slow and about characters
I don't even play videogames but I love listening to these fellas. Having them talk in the background drowns out my intrusive thoughts with their lovely manly voices gotta love it cowboy up gamers
I didn't play red dead 1 before playing red dead 2 but I still loved the game and for me it added more tension as to which characters would survive or not
Makes sense though considering Arthur not being mentioned in the original, also the ending of red dead 1 did the same switch up. I was expecting it from the start so it kinda lost the impact.
You smelling does matter a bit, it affects hunting and stealth. If you smell, then you need to pay more attention to the direction of the wind, because you'll be detected more easily. Really neat detail.
The first in a series of advanced twin ion engine starfighters, the original TIE fighter was developed by Sienar Fleet Systems. The agile, single pilot craft has a titanium alloy hull and quadanium steel armored solar panels but lacks a deflector shield and primary life support systems. The TIE fighter is intended to be used as a short-range attack craft, launching from near by Imperial installations. TIE fighters usually attack in swarms to overwhelm their opponents.
(Semi-Spoilers) The side mission where you find all these old outlaws who used to be feared and infamous who are now just pathetic pig farmers (eg Emmet Granger) really shows what Dutch was trying to avoid and how the wild west is long gone. Also, Dutch's monologue on the cliff scene was such an awesome throwback to red dead 1
1:01:54 i got the shot in the head ending and my mouth was open as hell. Not even intentional but just out of pure shock. That moment made me fully realise that rdr2 is my favourite game of all time because i wanted to kill micah so hard and at the same time i was really fucking sad because my little arthur died.. I was thinking just like you alex as well. " this isnt real". The fistfight just made me yell at the screen "COME ON ARTHUR!" "YOU CAN DO IT!!" "BEAT THE SHIT OUT OF HIM". This game is also one of the first time where i will gladly spend every dollar one this game, full price
The RZ-1 A-wing interceptor was a cockpit attached to twin engines. Like its Clone Wars predecessor, the Eta-2, the A-wing required pilots of exceptional skill to take full advantage of the vessel's speed, agility, and special features-and the Rebel Alliance lacked the Galactic Republic's Jedi pilots.
I remember when I first bought it. I played it on my Xbox one X and it looked gorgeous, I was hooked on the characters Arthur (the voice acting was great), and the shooting was great easy headshot for days, the game didn’t feel slow because the first chapter was filling in the lore but, playing it twice you notice how bad the pacing is. also I never thought the movement felt that sluggish since before any game I play I also go to settings to see the options and pick the once that I might like. I never understand how people can just put in a game and play it without checking the settings first. Is like buying a house because it looks good but not checking the area first.
It really blew me away. Best Rockstar game ever. Best story of the year. Best game of the generation besides Bloodborne, NieR: Automata and Persona 5. The comparison with Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul is very apt. This is really how you do a prequel imo. It’s right up there with DMC3 and MGS3. I honestly have nothing bad to say about RDR2 minus the few caveats Alex mentions. It’s a stunning game.
As much as I like the game as a whole (the map and the animal espicially) it's probably the glitchiest rockstar game I have played. Have had to kill myself or restart missions multiple times because the AI just bugs out. Obviously it's a huge game and they can't patch everything but simple things like the performers clipping through the curtains at the theatre really just makes me sad. Tl Dr brilliant game just lacks polish.
We need a remaster of red dead 1 because I need to know how the story ends and want to know how it continues, and I hate to say it but red dead 1 is quite a bit dated. Visually. To note I played Red dead 2 as my introduction to the series and Rockstar as a whole
I know this is 10 months old but it looks pretty good on Xbox one, the backwards compatibility makes it 1080p or 2160p vs 720p on the 360 version, and pretty bad 640p on the PS3.
beeneylord still a bit dated since it was 2010 but it still looks really good in some scenarios and once you get into the story it’s easily forgivable. The worst thing about the first one technically is the audio from the characters which can sound kind of bad especially in todays standards.
I learned to appreciate how long looting takes. In RDR1 and any other game that lets you, it's almost standard procedure to let the action come to a halt as you spend minutes looting every last body. You try pulling that during an RDR2 mission, chances are you'll fail for letting the group get too far ahead. At first it was frustrating, but then I realised how it actually helps the pace of missions when you can only really loot so much. It also helps solve a recurring problem in Rockstar games, where the sheer amount of weapon/item drops makes spending your money redundant. This was literally their first game where buying ammo felt neccessary.
I find it incredibly weird when someone says this game is “overrated”, it’s like they’ve never even play it, that or they played it on a platform that can’t support it and they just haven’t seen how good it actually is.
I'd like to see Rockstar take a stab at a Fantasy game. Shake up the field a bit. Show Bethesda that CD Projekt Red isn't the only company they have to worry about with open world fantasy games.
Revisiting this game on XboxX and falling back in love with Arthur Morgan. Love his dry wit! Can spend hours just hunting and love the random encounters.
Just finished the story mode yesterday. An outstanding game, but 2 glaring problems: 1) Why is there no fast travel back to main camp or from your secondary camp?? This isn't a huge issue until later in the game when you've explored most of the map, but it is an extremely annoying waste of time during end game when you need to get around the world for collectibles and trophy-related stuff. Unless they patch in proper fast travel, the grind for the extremely difficult Platinum trophy will be too much to bother.
2) Why does the game insist on constantly unequipping my favorite guns, ammo and items?? It does this ALL THE TIME, and it nearly ruins many missions when you are forced to use guns don't want or haven't even upgraded. You want your Springfield Rifle with express rounds? NOPE! Here, take the Bolt Action Rifle you never use with regular rounds. You want to dual wield your Semi-Auto Pistols with express rounds? NOPE! Here, take the Cattleman Revolver with regular rounds. Sometimes it even sends your horse off during a cut scene, so you can't even run back to grab your favorite guns that had been taken away. PATCH THIS ROCKSTAR!!
Narniak69 I typically always pull out my sidearm while riding the horse so that Arthur doesn’t stock them in his horse and get his weapons switched or missing once he gets off
@@dylancooper5118 One way only travel from home base to a few specific points in the world is not proper fast travel. You need to be able to travel from your temporary remote camps out in the world, which I believe they even had in the first Red Dead game. Once you are out in the world, the only way to "fast travel" is first riding your horse to the nearest train station or stage coach point (sometimes a very long trip), then paying $$$ to travel closer to where you actually want to be, and then usually it is still a lengthy horse ride remaining.
Its funny theyre doing a review but dont know that the game has more than 2 ending. Its also funny how Arthur murders hundreds of people and everything is forgiven because he gives like 5 random people $20 at the end of the game

Yeah, I’ve been playing RDR2 for a while now and agree with most of this. I thought the mission where you take John Marston’s son fishing and end up voring him was weird. Put me in a bad mood for the rest of the day.
I like Red Dead 2 more of how much they put into in open world, but Max Payne 3 seems so underrated as part of the MP series. I like MP3 on par with the MP1.
