It takes longer than booting from a local ISO mounted on the VM but it works. In a real environment it should be performed at night.... I only have to understand how to capture an image now. You can do it on the same server, but the settings in some places are a bit different if you dont seperate them. Also it is best practice to sperate services on their own VM.

i did all the configuration and its booting in other machine but it only reaches till when it is copying all windows files and then it starts over again, i am stuck in the loop.
I had problem where the client got ip from dhcp in the pxe boot but instantly crashed. I did this then it worked: change 067 Bootfile Name to \Boot\x64\wdsmgfw.efi also try turning off TFTP Variable window extention in the wds properties

Hi, have a Home Router/switch combo, configured HP DL380 G7 w/static IP, Installed VMware vSphere ESXi v5.5 and connect to my appliance DL380 via my Win 10 PC, once connected to my ESXi appliance, I created a VM and installed/config Server 2016 joined it to my domain mylab.net (created this domain within same server 2016 and joined the server to it; named this server WDS and installed roles DHCP, AD DS, DNS and WDS (all on same server 2016), Aslo installed the MDT 2013 Update 1 6.3.8289 and ADK 10.1.18362.1 and ADK PE, shared the DeploymentShare folder created on the root of C:\Deploymentshare, I have the server a static ip of 192.168.1.39, subnitemask 255.255.255.0 and DNS 127.0.0.1 and configured the Scope and server settings in DHCP; I then created another VM and installed Windows 10 and installed/config WDS/MDT/ADK; then launched the Deoploymentworkbench snaptool and open the shared deploymentshare from the Server 2016 and imported the Win 10 OS and created the task sequence (all imported successfully, WIM also imported on the WDS/server 2016 and ready to go); Finally, created another VM and called it Reference, tried to boot from PXE and cannot boot any OS. Hi, I am not getting the "INSTALL.WIM" in that directory. After extracting the ISO, there is only BOOT.WIM... And in my case client WIN 10 is not joining to my AD automatically. I have to put manual IP in win 10 then need to join it with my AD manually. Any advice ??
how to ger this working if dhcp is assigned by the router? I remember I did not have to anything . It just worked on 2012. does'nt seem to work on 2016

XP is not possible. not sure you are even talking about XP any specific reason... Why not sure new OS??

Please make sure you have nic driver is added in boot.wim or boot file

make sure your IP address is correct for WDS Client and Domain Join account is correct

You need configure these in your router if its support otherwise need to create DHCP Server.
