Thank you Nobby for making reviews of "affordable" cars. So many reviewers have gone into drag-racing and luxury cars reviews.
Glad you like them!
@@NobbyOnCarsdo you take requests of cars to review in the future? If so, is there any possibility of you reviewing used cars? Finding good value in new cars is impossible for me, but used cars definitely has more potential. With inflation and an economy going downwards, I feel like a lot of your viewers would appreciate used car reviews. At least I would 😊
Another excellent review. Great to see hatchback cars still hanging in there. Shame about their prices now.
34k for a Clio???!!! Jesus Christ!!!
Škoda Octavia starts from 30k.
Great review.
It’s actually almost hard to believe that an Octavia is 30k.
A GR Yaris costs 96k euro in France. It's 32k euro for the car and the rest is tax due to its CO2 emissions.
@@mgcarmkm4520 I thought Ireland was bad! GR here is about 60.
Full option vs base spec. Clio starts at 22k.
@@Evokyr A really good spec is around 28k with full hybrid. Dunno what OP is on about.
Nice review and a really lovely car! We bought a slightly used Clio hybrid almost a year ago and couldn't be happier. Sure, the prices are crazy but then again, is anything cheap these days? I think the Clio is excellent value for money considering how well built it is. And it's ideal for me as a disabled person
I brought my mother to buy her Clio in 2006, it was €13,500 brand new. Ok, we’re now 18 years on but this version costs two and a half times as much? Bloody madness. I usually buy my cars at 3 years old, so I get a good deal while some poor sod takes the hit on depreciation.
The line-up starts at 24 though, not sure what spec that money got you in 2006.
@@NobbyOnCars Mid range if I recall correctly and to be honest, I haggled the price down by going round every Renault dealer in Dublin (there were a lot more Renault garages back then) and playing them off one another. Anyway my point was €34 grand is a crazy price for what is a very small hatchback. But as you know, new car prices have gone mental, which makes my buying 3-4 year old cars much better financial sense. I recently bought a 201 reg Megane hatchback with all the bells and whistles, and just 28,000kms on the clock for €19,000. Its immaculate inside and out. So I’ve got a beautiful sporty hatch with low mileage while some other guy took the hit on depreciation.
Cracking review of a real world car. Love that colour.
I am averaging over 75mpg on a Toyota Yaris hybrid. I have been considering this model as an alternative but not convinced
Excellent review as always mate. I have ordered the exact same car but in Ceramic Grey metallic. Should be here in a couple of months or so.
Alpine trim? Nice job.
@@NobbyOnCars Yes Mark. Esprit Alpine trim.
I didn’t ignore the Alpine version 😂 but I don’t regret it 😊
34,000 for a Clio, did I get that correctly?! Great review tho!
Your ears did not deceive you !
When is the Hyundai i20n review coming up ?
Another great video, thank you. A Williams Clio would be great but in this pc world we won’t get one. Just have to make do with my Skoda daily and Mk7 Fiesta ST Mountune for the fun eh!
Which one would you consider as a daily driver; Clio or Hyundai i20? Cheers Nobby for a nice review without going too much into details 👍
Think I’d prefer this - a lot more stylish to look at anyway
"daily driver"??? Clio or Hyundai i20 are hardly sports cars for the weekend!!!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣
I used to own the Mk4 1.1L Petrol, it maybe a good looking car but practically it's not the best family car either. Buggy will take up the whole boot and no space for shopping, if you are starting out a family. Back seats have no space especially if the baby car seat is taken or if you're over 6ft. Drives grand , suspension and brake will have problems in the future and parts will be expensive within your budget range. The only good part that it's small and easy to park and do U-turns.
Getting the Megane Etec March 2nd. Can someone explain why the Clio gets a bigger information screen on a right hand drive and for some reason the UK Ireland Megane doesn't? Renault said it wasn't viable. Or are they full of shite?
Like the colour 👍
People complaining about the price should not forget a VW Polo is more expensive and maxes out at almost 40k... Audi A1? 47k here....
Seeing this price, I must apologize to my work colleague for telling him him he paid too much for his Audi A3 last November. 2l diesel with full s line spec for 44 000e.And car looks gorgeous.
Ps great review.
Too expensive for what you get. Good review Nobby.
Did I see a bike overtake him. Yeah, they don't make them like they used too.
(He sounds like the guy on Radio Nova?)
He did overtake me the cheeky git ! And yes that’s me on Nova. I pop up everywhere.
Swift,i20, clio how would you rank these please
Swift is massively cheaper than this Clio anyway and is a handy little car for the price for sure. This feels a good deal bigger. i20 is find too, the new Kona is just so good by comparison.
@@NobbyOnCars please rank the 3 if you had to buy
@@NobbyOnCars would you pick clio or i20 ?
Why do they cost 5 grand more in Ireland ?
Cause it’s Ireland and the motorist gets rode by the government
Good looking car, silly price.
Jesus that looks old with a new E-tech front, like a VW golf nothing happen.
34k?! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh no.
Definitely not the best looking super mini... that would be with no doubt Peugeot 208
34k ? Sure why not, everything else is over priced as well.
I think id rather a Fiesta.....oh wait no longer available....maybe a Seat Ibiza....oh that's not available anymore either....
The Fiesta was a gem !
I'm disappointed with your contribution on the claire byrne show
Did I say something that was not fact?
@@NobbyOnCars yes I'm sure I heard you say in the past you have to plane your journey
who would buy this car at 34k? Clios are brought only by Papa (aged 70) or Nicole (aged 18) and this appeals to neither. Poor handling and bad driving position don't help.
Doesn’t handle poorly, I chucked this around the Dublin mountains and didn’t miss a beat
@ @TG-pd3ft where did you get the "poor handling and driving position" info from? Every review/TH-cam video I've seen or read says otherwise. I took the above car on a test drive recently and it was neither of those things. And find me a small city car with more comfier seats than the new Clio!
Clio scored the highest in the normal B segment in handling test, also you sound like you’ve never sit in these ever. Not to mention you live under a rock if you haven’t noticed the car prices in 2023/2024 😅
