    maybe we can have brent play the kits at the end. it's just sad to see somebody sitting behind the kit & not playing a sound.

    hello! beautiful and interesting drum setup, I like so much the idea. there is some TH-cam link where this drum set is played from owner?

    Very reminiscent of Nathan Bulla's old setup (Auras), very cool.

    Apart from the 2 snare drums and accessories, this kit is kind of similar to how Bill Bruford sets his drums.

    I think the tiers might be overkill? I think you could of achieved the same effect with using V bars to mount the crash cymbals. That way they would be farther out like you have them placed and the main racks close enough to mount your rack toms the way you want them. Don't know about anyone else, but I don't have that kind of money for all the extras? All those mounts and clamps aren't cheap!!!

    Just a comment 6 years later... are you still working on a remote hihat?

  • @joshcampbell7957

    Hey I tried looking for the email to send in photos and a vid of my kit to do the make over I have a simple but complex set up because I play backwards on a backwards kit with offset pedals and I want to eliminate all my stands I am using a standard front rack with curve bars and a couple stands but as I said I want to eliminate the stands and want to see your take on my kit set up

  • @chekoaceval
    @chekoaceval 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    you should "re-create" a remote hi-hat stand

  • @Gitarzan66

    The kits I've seen so far don't look like they need a makeover. Looks like the owner isn't really hurting for money either. You should do this for say...a 10 year old with his first kit. Some one that really needs the advice and the parts instead of a drummer with a rack that cost a couple grand.

    • @GibraltarHardware
      @GibraltarHardware  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Gitar Zan thanks for the comment and for watching. You are right that these videos aren’t making over a set up for a drummer that really needs it. The purpose is to show all the possibilities that Gibraltar can offer you. Yes, when buying all these parts at once, cost can add up. But there are a lot of elements to each of these builds that people can use and adapt to their own set up.

    • @Gitarzan66
      @Gitarzan66 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I understand, its hard to make over a set that has nothing to make over. ha ha. I've been elected drum tech for my son which is cool but the problem is I'm a "Gitar" player (and keys) I did have a set of my own about 15 years ago and added a lot of Gibraltar things to it. So far I have bought him a 9713PM and a SCDC. Next is cymbal and hi hat stands. I dig the telescoping one. Maybe someday a rolling rack. One thing is for sure its going to be Gibraltar all the way.

    i'm all for an individual's setup, etc, but Brent, seriously, who the hell gets 'all fouled up' when using a regular, standard rack tom placement? i mean, seriously, does it confuse some drummers that it's RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU?? if so, that person should maybe just play the triangle

    • @GibraltarHardware
      @GibraltarHardware  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, thank you for your comment. That comment was made in reference to the hi hat placement. When you can play time on the hi hat without crossing your hands, your left hand is opened up more.

    • @joshcampbell7957
      @joshcampbell7957 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      actually it confused me at first I used to not use my rack in front I first just used floor toms but my new set up I am using them now

  • @dhdw1
    @dhdw1 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Your solution takes too much place (and money).... you can put all on just 2 curve rack bar!!

    • @GibraltarHardware
      @GibraltarHardware  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It actually does not take up much more space because the same amount of feet are on the ground. You do have to push each rack out about 3"-4" more than a traditional curved rack since the inner tier is closer. You are correct that it can be done on two curved bars, but his setup was already done that way. My purpose was to show an alternative way of doing it for those players who want more mounting space, as well as a different look.

      GibraltarDIY Does the "Winner"/Selectee for Bret's KMOTM actually win the various rack pieces and hardware used in the video? 'Cause if you did that, it would be AMAZINGLY AWESOME!! I'm sure the goodwill shown in that would bring some drummers over to your brand for minimal cost and a Web Video if it were also a quote-contest-unquote. 👍🏼

    I never really liked drum kits or setups like this I've always seen them as cluttered More is not always better I always picture the same type of drummers who play setups like these I call them busy drummers They always seem to be playing more notes Then what is necessary They're drumming always seems busy And lacks any real substance They're drumming to usually tend to be more noise than anything else
