Gibraltar makes rock solid gear, and they make solutions for nearly any problem a drummer encounters. Actually bailed me out of a jam or two and I've been impressed.
You guys should come transform my 8 piece double kick kit with one of these drum racks for your one of your videos. Show the people how a drum rack can really utilize the small amount of space in a barn stall.
Hey Brent and Gibraltar, I LOVE these NBO videos. Have you or any other artist ever used a straight bar in the front and curved bars on the sides? I had a 3 sided rack years ago and all the bars were straight. But the more I see these curved ones, I like how they can be angled in towards the back a little more bringing in some tightness. THANKS for the great videos and excellent products!!!
CC Marshall thank you for the comment! Yes I have built racks with a straight in the front and curves in the back. Since Gibraltar has offered curved bars, people have preferred them more. Plus it is a little easier to position toms on a curved bar than on a straight.
@GibraltarDIY I've always loved the idea of mounting a cymbal stand off my kick drum or even my floor tom conversion. That said, I'm also terrified that my cymbal will topple over on to the ground or kick. Do you offer a solution or know of a way that I could give a bass drum mounted cymbal stand a little extra support without drilling? Thanks so much!
So I've attempted to use mics on a rack before, and my problem was that l was getting a lot of noise from the cymbals vibrating a low rumble in to my mics. I tried different positions but ultimately it failed with the same results.. So my question is do the vibrations come through with these special rack mic mounts?
@@ljdunsmore1 i'm using 2 currently, one on a mini boom arm off my hi hat for a snare mic, and one attached to an L rod off the bass drum hoop with my D112 on it. Not used them with OH mics before but I have put a hi hat mic on one for a gig that needed it (theatre pit) and it worked with no issues.
@@charliesmithdrummer club gig set ups mostly I assume? You are still using other mics on your toms too right? Obviously it makes more since to do that (cost wise) but was also wondering about a hight issue with overheads but he did say they can extend fairly high. Thanks for your help Charlie
@@ljdunsmore1 Theatre shows actually. Toms just use the usual plastic clips and because i'm not using a rack (all flat base stands) it makes no sense carrying 2 extra cymbal stands to hold the overheads when there's a sound guy who can supply mic stands for me!
I hope Gibraltar donated all this equipment at no charge, because when that drummer finds out how much of a pain in the ass having mics mounted to your rack is due to microphone transference, he's bound to be pretty upset. Lol
I have all my mics mounted on the rack with no transference or erroneous vibrations coming through. In fact, since the close mics are not mounted the toms, there's a lot more sustain.
For some reason I can watch this cat build racks all day. As always, great video!
I absolutely LOVE!!! Gibraltar hardware.. Not if but when i make it i definitely wanna be endorsed by gibraltar💯💯
All the rack builds are super interesting, gives me tons of ideas to customize my existing rack!
I love how @ 5:30 the drums go from being dusty and dingy to a beautiful shining instrument again! Take care of your drums peeps!

Gibraltar has always made solid gear for reasonable prices. Probably why they’re still going strong.
That sound shield is what I need for my house with a ceiling though.
They sell the whole booth for about 3 grand.
Can't believe Brett left Gibraltar!
Who's the genus that picked the track during the setup.
What was the price for all that?
Nowadays, you're probably looking at a grand, minimum.

The mic mount adapter has a rubber shock mount in I believe, its never been a problem for me using it.
@@charliesmithdrummer cool thanks! So assuming you use these, how many/ what are you micing? Are you using overheads too?
