Victor... Welcome to the club. I installed APSystems and it has been a simply horrible experience. Their modules die with clockwork regularity and they won't honor their own warranty. I don't feel they should even be in business anymore given the quality of the product, high failure rate, and abhorrent customer support. I've seen bad, but this is worse.
Replace their junk with Enphase and it is like a dream. Enphase *wants* your business and it shows. You can register and maintain your products with Enphase. Talk to customer support and their are friendly and helpful, not rude and useless. I haven't had the need for warranty replacement so I really can't comment there... but that is a good thing! Frankly, looking around the industry will give you a pretty good idea that Enphase seems to have a pretty good failure rate (meaning low). Personal experience has shown that APSystems has a failure rate that is laughable.

Good to know, I was going to buy a used setup with some YC500a inverters. Does anyone know if the warranty is transferable? This will be for ground mount so failure is not too much of an issue if they stand behind their warranty. Any way to check them quickly before I purchase? They are likely in a box, but I should have access to solar panels when I go see them.

The YC500 at 120VAC is very bad, it doesn't synchronize, and the after-sales support is very bad. We do not recommend it.

Not happy with my system. Have had 11 faulty modules which must be replaced by installer or technician at your own expense. Warranty doesn't cover replacement costs and re-install. Never using this product again!

The dirty secret is that it is cheaper to convert to Enphase than to get the installer out to do a simple job.

The installer can delve deeper into systems perfirmance than me, the customer? Not happy about that. Do not shield info from me!

As a customer of 5 yc500i modules at my home and additionally as a certified installer you are able to see the same performance data as well as module level data as the installer can . Even on the phone app you are able to see the same performance levels and module level data. There really isn't that much more options on the installer level access other than being able to add new systems to allow monitoring to the installer account. It is the same with pretty much every other brand that is out there. If you are accessing your performance through the ecu on your network by typing in an ip address that is basic level information. Your installer should have given you a customer account on the Apsystems web site to access a better user interface for your system, if not you should contact them and request a homeowner account, but again all the data is the same and available on all 3 options to monitor your solar install, ecu, phone app and EMA login.

Hi Rick. The information we provide at the installer level is for diagnostic purposes and meant for troubleshooting. There are also advanced controls which could adversely affect the system if a homeowner inadvertently changed a setting which is why access to those controls is only given to licensed solar PV professionals.
