But I don't really know what it whole story was. White: What are you going to do with the money? What are you going to do with the money? He said what is it for? Blue: I take it. When I get it someone will contact me. Just say you don't know and it has nothing to do with you. White: Who is this person contacting you? What is his name? White: You have to stop. you guys should put a gps tracker and microphone in the box and let them take the package so you can hear what the money mule says when he thinks he got away and calls his boss...you can also track him with the GPS and if you feel really crazy you should follow the money mule in a car and see where he goes and once you get all the information you need you can still confront and scare him...I'm sure mark rober would help you guys out
I have reached out to them about this as i am working with a company developing a non cellular gps device for a similar purpose. I have reached out to their text on their website but just get promotional texts about their videos. This would be an amazing way to do it. The trackers are purposely made to be thin enough to fit in a small cutout in a stack of bills, a book or anything else.

I am so proud of my 82 year old mother who doesn't believe any of this stuff. She used to argue with them, but we've convinced her just to hang up. I'm in my 60s and get quite a few calls myself from "Medicare".

@HadassahAkusani One very effective tool to stop all this is stop using Windows...ALL the fraud happens with Windows. A different secure Operating System like MacOS for an Apple or Linux will make you more secure

They are all extremely rude! I used to get calls about the Microsoft warranty. I used to tell them off because I didn’t even have the computer anymore that they were calling about.
My daughter and I spent a Saturday calling back scammers that my robokiller blocked, it was a fun and hilarious way to spend a Saturday afternoon. it was so cathartic!
I don’t remember ever calling them back. But I sure have wasted their time by playing dumb. I start out telling them that I’m technologically illiterate, and they’ll have to help me. Then I’ll mess up something on purpose to hear them yell. I also talk over them, and pretend I can’t hear them. Several times I’ve told them that I really need help from my brother, because he knows computers backwards, forwards, and upside down. I think he learned all about them when he was HIRED by the FBI CYBERCRIME UNIT. Got a couple of Hang-ups after that statement. I only have 2 Sisters, but, oh well.

I know in the past they've handed over things to the FBI, but it's not an "on the spot" type thing. Without knowing the language they can't really do much yet either. Hopefully it will be sorted out eventually.
Ashton as the 94 year old man was great. I felt so sorry for him having to sit in the sun for over an hour. I guess it’s not enough to steal $32,000 from an elderly person but to subject him to sitting in the hot SC sun for over an hour. It’s really sad that these scammers actually treat elderly people like this.

I am glad you guys are there to fight the predators. My husband got victimized by scammers two times last 2021 and 2022, and he gave money total of $5,000.00 to the scammers, I am working and he retired. In his 80 years, he has had light dementia. His by himself at home while I was at work. I blocked the scammers, I felt it was not right I had read their emails and they kept calling and they rushed my husband to pay by gift card and send it to them by email. So I blocked their calls and emails, I'm always advising my husband to be careful and not trust and believe right away from any emails and calls🙏🙏🙏 God Bless you all! and take care.

From the mandarin I speak (not the dialect they are using), the friend seems like he genuinely is not involved. He was asking the cash mule the questions that trilogy asked, and was scolding the mule for what he was doing. The mule used the application that indeed, the other person can delete all chats on their end.
I noticed too, was frustrated seeing him get berated for scolding his friend. It was clear he probably knew it was something sketchy, but it didn't sound like this was a regular thing for him. Idk if its just the way he speaks, but it sounded like he was pissed that his friend got him caught up in all this.
I truly love what you do, THANK ALL OF YOU for the great work. My mom is 94 and has been approached many times by scamers, even at the door. To all the seniors reading this .. JUST HANG UP ..OR JUST DISCONNECT . Its a hard job to make my mom aware, she is a target, as everyone is !!! I wish the government would support and fund these great people in the work they do, as it really is a NATIONAL SECURITY PROBLEM.
I think the bank needs to have protocols in place to prevent customers from withdrawing their money in the first place. They need to mention immediately the first RED FLAG warning sign is they are told to not speak at all, or to lie about what they are withdrawing money for. Also they need to verify their beginning bank balance and to explain to customers how the scam works to spoof their bank information. They should then call the actual company directly from the bank so the customer and bank can verify the truth and explain that a legitimate company would NEVER EVER request cash be mailed. In the event of any kind over overpayment they would reconcile it on their own with the bank, and in the event they weren't able to they would request in writing that the customer send a bank check or money order made payable to the company (sometimes requiring 2 signatures for large amounts). Usually they advise to send it certified mail. The company would NEVER EVER request gift cards. The banks should be advising customers to tell the "company" they their refund via check. DO NOT allow any access to your computer or banking information WHAT SO EVER!!!!. Some will say that's too much to ask of the bank, but UNFORTUNATELY this is the time we are living in and the banks need to take a more aggressive approach to protect their customers. I think most customers would appreciate this, young or elderly anyone can be a victim. The banks should be educating their customers because ultimately if they do fall prey to a scam the customer is going to try to recoup that money back from the bank and the last thing the bank wants is to take a loss. I know there is a fine line to protecting a customer's privacy and they have every right to do what they want with their money, but it is the banks responsibility to ensure nothing nefarious is going on either. Also I feel UPS, FEDEX, USPS, and any other package delivering company should be doing more to prevent these packages from being sent or delivered. Ultimately they are the second line of defense if this fraud is not caught at the bank. I don't know the inner workings of the packaging delivery process, and. I would assume they have some sort of process to try to detect these scams, however I feel they really need to do more training to watch out for this, both at the stores (UPS store, Post Office, FedEx/Kinks etc.) as well as at delivery. Perhaps there is more going on behind the scenes and I would think they are working with law enforcement to build cases against the larger outfits perpetrating this but it's not just larger organization's. There are individuals both in and outside of the country.

Just in case you don't know, perhaps because you did not learn long enough from watching, or thinking enough from listening... it ABSOLUTELY is NOT a matter of citizenship. In this line of comments (if you take time to search, that is), you can read comments from Indians, Chineses, Jamaicans, etc. who support scambaiting and scammers being exposed, even (and especially) if they are from their country. Because India is NOT a nesting country for evil. And the guys at Trilogy Media have stated it clearly : India is not a whole, full of crooks, only a minuscule percentage of its population scams, and always in mafia-like structures, never individually. And thousands of scammers and/or money-mules are US citizens, who steal from their own fellow citizens. You have had your brains twisted and washed by some skilled persons who made you think US = good and foreigners = bad... when there's NOTHING more wrong than this. Very good people live in India, too. Very bad people live in USA, too. Does "mass shooting" tell you something ? Because nearly 100% of them are perpetuated by US citizens. You have to watch more of such videos, open your mind and use your brain... providing you can. Then you may understand being evil has nothing to do with citizenship, AT ALL !

Have you seen what happens when they try to bring the police in? It just slows the operation down and puts them in jeopardy of losing the cash. Police have to make sure these are really the good guys and really the truth is the police are the ones who ought to be doing these kinds of undercover operations instead of just sitting behind signs, trying to catch people going over the speed limit.
The thing is many of these crimes are international and therefore the FBI or Interpol would have to get involved. I’m sure they have a division that handles cybercrime. And I believe I’ve seen in some of the other videos that they pass on this information to the police.
I love this please don’t stop. My parents mom has been Caught up in a love scam since 2019 and she won’t listen to any of us it’s really sad she’s lost close to $200,000.

As another LEO (based in the state where you did this video), I had some observations. Sorry, I started typing and it got WAY long! I love what you guys are doing, but from experience, y'all are leaving a ton of information on the table with your interrogation techniques. Safety concerns aside-because there are an extreme amount here-you should consider that you cannot stop them, cannot threaten them, and are completely relying on their cooperation all the way. Never tell them to stop talking, never tell them to shut up. You're there to hear what THEY have to say. The more they talk, the more they will give up. It may not be truth-usually falsehoods if they are experienced, but it gives you something to probe at. Keep building until you have factual evidence. You want proof. And you need the police to do anything about it. Lure them in, you cannot take anything. And then you can take it to the police to do a report. No way of knowing for sure, but my very cursory read (which can ALWAYS be wrong-you'll see the more that you do this that you'll believe something completely and find out that you're wrong) is that the mule was being honest about deleting the messaging. He seemed shamed by what he did to his friend. You guys got lucky too that they cooperated with you. If they wanted to just leave, like most people would, you all would have been left with nothing or charged. Even the scammer had some form of conscience to try to save his friend at the end, and enough so to be ashamed by what he did when he was accused. That is a person who could cooperate with police. He may not know enough to be useful, though, and you guys need to recognize that. Mules are called mules for a reason-they don't usually know much, and they're usually "disposable" to the interests that control him. So, they're normally homeless, poor, or immigrants who haven't acclimated and harder to track down if they get charged. The handlers find them, give them just what they need to do the minimum job, and send them on. It's risky to use someone who knows more, though it happens sometimes if someone is particularly good or the scheme is more complex. But they usually withhold information. You can't get more than what he has. Remember, good interrogating is about LISTENING. Ask OPEN-ENDED questions. Don't give your opinions, especially if you're still looking for information. So, don't say "Who picks up cash at a park? Who does that?" Maybe just ask "And why did you pick the park?" and let him answer. That's information you can work with, even if it's false. He'll give you a reason that you know is untrue, or can be probed later. When you were asking about who hired him, and he said "I don't know much", just ask him "okay, what do you know?" Give him an out verbally. He will probably lie, but your technique right now is basically bully him into talking. That doesn't always work on everyone-this guy was ashamed, so it did to some degree, but he still didn't give you anything because you talked him down. If he "doesn't know" who hired him, ask how they contact him. Is it an app (if they are immigrants, it could be something you are not familiar with)? If it is an app, the other party may be able to delete messages. Ask how they first got ahold of him. Ask when the last time they talked was. Ask how often they talk, and ask what they get. Next-how they get it. That gives you a lead. Just get smaller and smaller with the questions, and let THEM do that talking. The more information you have, the more you can back up your own talking later with facts or claims. Interrogation is about getting little pieces at a time. You don't have a badge, so you're completely reliant on their cooperation. Collect those the pieces until you have the whole puzzle. Ultimately, you can't arrest anybody, and the police will have to follow up and verify everything themselves (IF you have a victim! You can't investigate a crime without a victim-then there's no crime!), but you can still get information the right way. The advantage that you have is that, while there are certain things you can't do (like detain people) there are certain things you don't have to worry about (like giving someone a lawyer before talking). If you take nothing else, remember this: Let THEM talk. You listen. Also, there are phone services to help find a translator who can help over the phone. I've used them to do questioning, and they can be very effective. I love your courage and I heavily respect your sacrifices. Because I don't mean so negative about your technique, I'll say this: I do like your line about: "You can talk to us, or we can get the police here right now." And-some of my fellow cops might cringe at increasing our call volume even more-but go ahead and call us. Worst that will happen is that they'll say no and you can get a report that won't lead to charges. Or maybe you can get one that does. Local police probably won't do much with the conspiracy and national/international fraud, but it's useful for federal investigations to have a local report or pick those cases up from local jurisdictions if charges do get filed. I've had federal investigators call me (here in S.C.) about my local case fitting into a larger national investigation before, which is good because I can only charge in my jurisdiction for those crimes. Thanks for working hard, and I know I left you an essay, but if you check the channel and read it, I hope that I've left you something that could be helpful. Best of luck, y'all, and be safe.

However, though it's very entertaining to watch these guys get furious while being baited& I do see a point in the scambaiters wasting as much of the scamers time as possible when there's nothing else that can be accomplished. At least their time is being spent getting scamed instead of ripping off someone. My 1st video of this type was of a very skilled female scambaiter, whom I'v only seen her deal with scammers in India. She does try to give as much info as possibleto the local authorities there but usually the scamers get by without any consequences at all legally. I don't remember her name/handle but so far she's the only 1 I'v seen capable of literally talking to each & every 1 of these people who are working as a team together in 1 room to make the scams appear more legit. She gets each & every 1 of them so worked-up that they forget how to talk!
Yeah I found their way of operating highly counterproductive and unprofessional as well. All they do is scream into their faces and portray power. Won't bring them far.
In every video they drop the ball each step of the way. It's really strange, every time they are surprised when the messages are deleted. They talk over the suspect even when the suspect is trying to help them. They never have their own translator which would be so easy. They always tip off the call center guy before interrogating the mule, neeever just follow the package to the next step or even follow the mule after they talk. It makes no sense, except unfortunately that they are primarily doing this for views and to advertise products. It's like a parody version of Colombo.
Thank you for capturing scammers. I get scam calls just about everyday from 5:00 AM to midnight. Some call 5 or 6 times in a row if I don't answer. If I'm in the mood, I will pretend to go along just a waste their time, then give them a piece of my mind. Keep up the great work!

I can understand why they don’t do that because that may break some law.
I have reached out to them about this as i am working with a company developing a non cellular gps device for a similar purpose. I have reached out to their text on their website but just get promotional texts about their videos. This would be an amazing way to do it. The trackers are purposely made to be thin enough to fit in a small cutout in a stack of bills, a book or anything else.

I am so proud of my 82 year old mother who doesn't believe any of this stuff. She used to argue with them, but we've convinced her just to hang up. I'm in my 60s and get quite a few calls myself from "Medicare".

I don’t remember ever calling them back. But I sure have wasted their time by playing dumb. I start out telling them that I’m technologically illiterate, and they’ll have to help me. Then I’ll mess up something on purpose to hear them yell. I also talk over them, and pretend I can’t hear them. Several times I’ve told them that I really need help from my brother, because he knows computers backwards, forwards, and upside down. I think he learned all about them when he was HIRED by the FBI CYBERCRIME UNIT. Got a couple of Hang-ups after that statement. I only have 2 Sisters, but, oh well.

I know in the past they've handed over things to the FBI, but it's not an "on the spot" type thing. Without knowing the language they can't really do much yet either. Hopefully it will be sorted out eventually.

I guess it’s not enough to steal $32,000 from an elderly person but to subject him to sitting in the hot SC sun for over an hour. I am glad you guys are there to fight the predators. My husband got victimized by scammers two times last 2021 and 2022, and he gave money total of $5,000.00 to the scammers, I am working and he retired. In his 80 years, he has had light dementia. His by himself at home while I was at work. I blocked the scammers, I felt it was not right I had read their emails and they kept calling and they rushed my husband to pay by gift card and send it to them by email. So I blocked their calls and emails, I'm always advising my husband to be careful and not trust and believe right away from any emails and calls🙏🙏🙏 God Bless you all! and take care.

From the mandarin I speak (not the dialect they are using), the friend seems like he genuinely is not involved. He was asking the cash mule the questions that trilogy asked, and was scolding the mule for what he was doing. The mule used the application that indeed, the other person can delete all chats on their end.
I noticed too, was frustrated seeing him get berated for scolding his friend. It was clear he probably knew it was something sketchy, but it didn't sound like this was a regular thing for him. Idk if its just the way he speaks, but it sounded like he was pissed that his friend got him caught up in all this.
I truly love what you do, THANK ALL OF YOU for the great work. My mom is 94 and has been approached many times by scamers, even at the door. To all the seniors reading this .. JUST HANG UP ..OR JUST DISCONNECT . Its a hard job to make my mom aware, she is a target, as everyone is !!! I wish the government would support and fund these great people in the work they do, as it really is a NATIONAL SECURITY PROBLEM.
The Banks need to include warning messages about safety and to be aware of the possibility of being scammed. A easy way to help bring awareness.

My Bank has a sign up behind the tellers saying CAUTION, then giving info about Scam calls. I was proud of them when I saw it.
I think the bank needs to have protocols in place to prevent customers from withdrawing their money in the first place. They need to mention immediately the first RED FLAG warning sign is they are told to not speak at all, or to lie about what they are withdrawing money for. Also they need to verify their beginning bank balance and to explain to customers how the scam works to spoof their bank information. They should then call the actual company directly from the bank so the customer and bank can verify the truth and explain that a legitimate company would NEVER EVER request cash be mailed. In the event of any kind over overpayment they would reconcile it on their own with the bank, and in the event they weren't able to they would request in writing that the customer send a bank check or money order made payable to the company (sometimes requiring 2 signatures for large amounts). Usually they advise to send it certified mail.
The company would NEVER EVER request gift cards.
The banks should be advising customers to tell the "company" they their refund via check. DO NOT allow any access to your computer or banking information WHAT SO EVER!!!!.
Some will say that's too much to ask of the bank, but UNFORTUNATELY this is the time we are living in and the banks need to take a more aggressive approach to protect their customers. I think most customers would appreciate this, young or elderly anyone can be a victim.
The banks should be educating their customers because ultimately if they do fall prey to a scam the customer is going to try to recoup that money back from the bank and the last thing the bank wants is to take a loss.
I know there is a fine line to protecting a customer's privacy and they have every right to do what they want with their money, but it is the banks responsibility to ensure nothing nefarious is going on either.
Also I feel UPS, FEDEX, USPS, and any other package delivering company should be doing more to prevent these packages from being sent or delivered. Ultimately they are the second line of defense if this fraud is not caught at the bank.
I don't know the inner workings of the packaging delivery process, and. I would assume they have some sort of process to try to detect these scams, however I feel they really need to do more training to watch out for this, both at the stores (UPS store, Post Office, FedEx/Kinks etc.) as well as at delivery. Perhaps there is more going on behind the scenes and I would think they are working with law enforcement to build cases against the larger outfits perpetrating this but it's not just larger organization's. There are individuals both in and outside of the country.

Just in case you don't know, perhaps because you did not learn long enough from watching, or thinking enough from listening... it ABSOLUTELY is NOT a matter of citizenship.
In this line of comments (if you take time to search, that is), you can read comments from Indians, Chineses, Jamaicans, etc. who support scambaiting and scammers being exposed, even (and especially) if they are from their country. Because India is NOT a nesting country for evil. And the guys at Trilogy Media have stated it clearly : India is not a whole, full of crooks, only a minuscule percentage of its population scams, and always in mafia-like structures, never individually.
And thousands of scammers and/or money-mules are US citizens, who steal from their own fellow citizens.
You have had your brains twisted and washed by some skilled persons who made you think US = good and foreigners = bad... when there's NOTHING more wrong than this.
Very good people live in India, too. Very bad people live in USA, too.

Have you seen what happens when they try to bring the police in? It just slows the operation down and puts them in jeopardy of losing the cash.
Police have to make sure these are really the good guys and really the truth is the police are the ones who ought to be doing these kinds of undercover operations instead of just sitting behind signs, trying to catch people going over the speed limit.
The thing is many of these crimes are international and therefore the FBI or Interpol would have to get involved. I’m sure they have a division that handles cybercrime. And I believe I’ve seen in some of the other videos that they pass on this information to the police.
I love this please don’t stop. My parents mom has been Caught up in a love scam since 2019 and she won’t listen to any of us it’s really sad she’s lost close to $200,000.

As another LEO (based in the state where you did this video), I had some observations. Sorry, I started typing and it got WAY long! I love what you guys are doing, but from experience, y'all are leaving a ton of information on the table with your interrogation techniques. Safety concerns aside-because there are an extreme amount here-you should consider that you cannot stop them, cannot threaten them, and are completely relying on their cooperation all the way. Never tell them to stop talking, never tell them to shut up. You're there to hear what THEY have to say. The more they talk, the more they will give up. It may not be truth-usually falsehoods if they are experienced, but it gives you something to probe at. Keep building until you have factual evidence. You want proof. And you need the police to do anything about it. Lure them in, you cannot take anything. And then you can take it to the police to do a report.
No way of knowing for sure, but my very cursory read (which can ALWAYS be wrong-you'll see the more that you do this that you'll believe something completely and find out that you're wrong) is that the mule was being honest about deleting the messaging. He seemed shamed by what he did to his friend. You guys got lucky too that they cooperated with you. If they wanted to just leave, like most people would, you all would have been left with nothing or charged. Even the scammer had some form of conscience to try to save his friend at the end, and enough so to be ashamed by what he did when he was accused. That is a person who could cooperate with police. He may not know enough to be useful, though, and you guys need to recognize that. Mules are called mules for a reason-they don't usually know much, and they're usually "disposable" to the interests that control him. So, they're normally homeless, poor, or immigrants who haven't acclimated and harder to track down if they get charged. The handlers find them, give them just what they need to do the minimum job, and send them on. It's risky to use someone who knows more, though it happens sometimes if someone is particularly good or the scheme is more complex. But they usually withhold information. You can't get more than what he has.
Remember, good interrogating is about LISTENING. Ask OPEN-ENDED questions. Don't give your opinions, especially if you're still looking for information. So, don't say "Who picks up cash at a park? Who does that?" Maybe just ask "And why did you pick the park?" and let him answer. That's information you can work with, even if it's false. He'll give you a reason that you know is untrue, or can be probed later. When you were asking about who hired him, and he said "I don't know much", just ask him "okay, what do you know?" Give him an out verbally. He will probably lie, but your technique right now is basically bully him into talking. That doesn't always work on everyone-this guy was ashamed, so it did to some degree, but he still didn't give you anything because you talked him down. If he "doesn't know" who hired him, ask how they contact him. Is it an app (if they are immigrants, it could be something you are not familiar with)? If it is an app, the other party may be able to delete messages. Ask how they first got ahold of him. Ask when the last time they talked was. Ask how often they talk, and ask what they get. Next-how they get it. That gives you a lead. Just get smaller and smaller with the questions, and let THEM do that talking. The more information you have, the more you can back up your own talking later with facts or claims. Interrogation is about getting little pieces at a time. You don't have a badge, so you're completely reliant on their cooperation. Collect those the pieces until you have the whole puzzle. Ultimately, you can't arrest anybody, and the police will have to follow up and verify everything themselves (IF you have a victim! You can't investigate a crime without a victim-then there's no crime!), but you can still get information the right way. The advantage that you have is that, while there are certain things you can't do (like detain people) there are certain things you don't have to worry about (like giving someone a lawyer before talking).
If you take nothing else, remember this: Let THEM talk. You listen. Also, there are phone services to help find a translator who can help over the phone. I've used them to do questioning, and they can be very effective. I love your courage and I heavily respect your sacrifices. Because I don't mean so negative about your technique, I'll say this: I do like your line about: "You can talk to us, or we can get the police here right now." And-some of my fellow cops might cringe at increasing our call volume even more-but go ahead and call us. Worst that will happen is that they'll say no and you can get a report that won't lead to charges. Or maybe you can get one that does. Local police probably won't do much with the conspiracy and national/international fraud, but it's useful for federal investigations to have a local report or pick those cases up from local jurisdictions if charges do get filed. I've had federal investigators call me (here in S.C.) about my local case fitting into a larger national investigation before, which is good because I can only charge in my jurisdiction for those crimes. Thanks for working hard, and I know I left you an essay, but if you check the channel and read it, I hope that I've left you something that could be helpful. Best of luck, y'all, and be safe.

@NarwhalMantheResur...I really hope that I just found my 1st. ever scambait video a couple days ago & WOW I'M hooked. However, though it's very entertaining to watch these guys get furious while being baited& I do see a point in the scambaiters wasting as much of the scamers time as possible when there's nothing else that can be accomplished. At least their time is being spent getting scamed instead of ripping off someone. My 1st video of this type was of a very skilled female scambaiter, whom I'v only seen her deal with scammers in India. She does try to give as much info as possibleto the local authorities there but usually the scamers get by without any consequences at all legally. I don't remember her name/handle but so far she's the only 1 I'v seen capable of literally talking to each & every 1 of these people who are working as a team together in 1 room to make the scams appear more legit. She gets each & every 1 of them so worked-up that they forget how to talk!

Yeah I found their way of operating highly counterproductive and unprofessional as well. All they do is scream into their faces and portray power. Won't bring them far.
In every video they drop the ball each step of the way. It's really strange, every time they are surprised when the messages are deleted. They talk over the suspect even when the suspect is trying to help them. They never have their own translator which would be so easy. They always tip off the call center guy before interrogating the mule, neeever just follow the package to the next step or even follow the mule after they talk. It makes no sense, except unfortunately that they are primarily doing this for views and to advertise products. It's like a parody version of Colombo.
Thank you for capturing scammers. I get scam calls just about everyday from 5:00 AM to midnight. Some call 5 or 6 times in a row if I don't answer. If I'm in the mood, I will pretend to go along just a waste their time, then give them a piece of my mind. Keep up the great work!

So I pulled up one of your video's on my Samsung pad. And guess what happened. My computer wasn't locked up any more .I told him I would contact you and you would shut down his whole scam. I say this because his impersonation of the 95 year old, especially the way he answers his phone, ("yeh?") Is absolutely spot on!
