This absolutely works! I have tried sleeping with the pillows as suggested the last 2 nights and have woken up full of energy and without snoring and without a sore neck. I have been really exhausted the last 3 months - no matter how much I sleep I wake up tired. My husband told me, I haven't snored the last 2 nights. Give it a try. :)
Last night I tried to sleep with that four pillow method and it was the most comfortable position ever. I fell asleep like a baby and stayed in one position for hours which is so rare for me
Aw. God bless you!!! 💞💞💞 I really hope so! My partner just died suddenly & unexpectedly and on top of my already existing health issues, his passing has almost sent me right over the edge. same here, did not learn anything new. The takeaway in this video is basically that you should make your bed and sleep as comfortably as possible. I just wasted 8 minutes watching the video.
He’s right, I experimented with this one night when I was feelin discomfort. I ended up buying too many pillows. Or so I thought. I placed every single pillow exactly as the video instructed. I did this not knowing what it was I was actually doin. I’m not sure which direction I was facing. But when I got to the good spot, I felt energy & pressure alleviate from my head almost instantly. This is amazing.
I started putting a pillow under my knees because anytime I’ve been on a massage bed or reiki bed, they put a pillow under the knees for back support and I thought it was super smart. This makes so much sense
When I am really tired I sleep on my side with a pillow under my upper arm and between my knees like he showed. It really helps me rest. I have heard of the directions thing but Now I will work on that . Rest well
To the incredible person that's seeing this, I wish you all the best in life❤ don't over blame yourself, accept things and go forward. Don't let others define what “success” is for you. Get up, learn the skills needed and get after it, all the keys to a happy life is in your hands. Keep pushing.
But you probably have a choice where you put pillow your head rests on. I have a bedroom with dual aspect and have tried moving bed to all orientations of my room simply to utilise space better but instinctively I found my sleep wasnt as good as normal so reverted to my previous position which was as described in video for northern hemisphere . Although I dont use a pillow for my hand/arm but its cool in winter and I tend to feel happiest with duvet rapped around me to keep my body warm and muscles therefore more relaxed as they warm. I will monitor what I do with hand next time I sleep and see if I can modify it a little. Sleep well 😊
I sleep exactly like this...both on my back and on the side. No one taught me. I have always believed the body has its own intelligence and if you pay attention it will teach you.
This video confirms what I have been doing for the last two years. I started sleeping on my back after doing yoga one day. During yoga, I just lay flat on my back and look up at the sky. (This helps with spine realignment.) One way while doing yoga, I fell asleep in this position. I tried sleeping in the same position that night when I went to bed. I woke up feeling great. No back pain. Np snoring. I felt restored.
Sleeping on your right - suppresses the liver. Sleeping on the left - pressures the heart. Sleeping on your back - with rolled small towel under your neck - is best for me. With knees slightly bent.
Sleeping on your right is the best way..in my religion and science its recommended to sleep on the right. That's the proper Sunnah way in Islam. All the best to all.
this definately works, especially for side sleepers and people with neck/shoulder problems (like myslef). I move around in my sleep which shifts the pillows and causes pressure points on neck/nerves. There is a Chinese name for this method, but basically it is the 5 Pillow Method for sleep setup. The pillow type size, thickness and firmness is important as well, if you notice the pillows that the Chinese Master is using it is not too firm, not too thick. I recommend using thin medium soft pillows but stack them if needing thicker size (rather then 1 thick pillow). For my setup, I use 1 thin memory foam pillow (but regular shape/not contoured/thin soft pillow on top in middle of bed), then on both sides I actually started using a balled up down comforter blanket as a pillow as it covers more surface area (I put it on top of a pillow to give it some structure). It eliminated my chronic shoulder, arm pains and headaches. I always sleep on my sides (left or right side), I tried to change to being a back sleeper many times but it never works, I am just conditioned to being a side sleeper.
Everyone on this page commenting is such a thoughtful blessing ❤️ to lift my frequency to the highest and best! Sent with love and gratitude 💕 Kimberly 💞
We watched this video and the same day rearranged our bedroom furniture with our head towards the East. The bedroom seems more comfortable and full of energy. Looking forward to sleeping better! Update: We definitely have been sleeping marvelously better and the bedroom has a lot of extra space! If you can do it, don’t hesitate. Love always 💕
Tonight I will change my sleeping position. I’ve been sleeping with my head towards the north and I could not get a good sleep . Sometimes I rotates and sleep with my head towards southeast , I sleep better but had no idea why .. also I always sleep with a bolster because it supports my legs and chest. today I learned something new . Great video 👍
I guess listening to our body is the key. When you are sleeping incorrectly, you will feel and try to adjust until you find the right and most comfortable position. Now, the polarity makes sense but I never heard about it before. If this statement is true, then it’s something really serious that deserves a lot of attention! Definitely asking my chiropractor about it. Thank you for sharing and good and restful night to all! Peace and good energy to all!! 🙏😴🙌
Magnetic effect on the brain, nope. Raising skull above height of heart, however, yup. As this would lower the cranial blood pressure. Experiment....sit.....put head between knees.....count to 60......note how you feel .......then CAREFULLY stand up...... note your reaction to this. Sit down and think. Then lie down NS,WE,SN,EW. Note the fact that the difference in change in cranial blood pressure is far more dependent on HEIGHT ABOVE HEART rather than a sophist saying you should sleep facing North,South,East,West,or facing towards any arbitrary random location.
I've slept this way on my side since I was a kid, but using stuffed animals instead of pillows 🤣 I'm not ashamed to admit it's a habit I never grew out of, and glad to have a good reason to continue!
I sleep to the North and am still alive, too. There are only 2 grams of iron in our blood and this iron doesn't stick to magnets. Otherwise, people would die taking MRI, lol.
thanks for the video. Send it to my family and friends. There are so many things we dont know and thanks to people like you that make us aware we can improve our lives.
This teaching goes along with Feng Shui. Thank you. I have practiced Feng Shui for almost 30 years and my life has improved the whole way. It is very important however to never place your bed where the door opening cuts a straight line to your bed. Do not put your bed in front of a door opening or straight in front of the opening.
Sadhguru is also a yogi, philanthropist, and a spiritual leader. He’s quite a scientist too, and explains spiritual things with the physical, psychology, & neurology.
He also a proponent of the NWO/WEF eugenicists that want to reduce human life on earth by 95%... and they are well on their way with what they call 'medicins'!!
Wow! I tried this last night and woke up feeling great on 4 hours of sleep. Could just be coincidence, so going to try again tonight. I also slept with my head to the southeast as Sadguru suggested.
As a physio in Australia I worked out these sleeping positions through experience. Have been helping patients with this advice for years. Lovely to have ones insights validated by a Master. From now on I might borrow the title too.😉
Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him/pbuh) demonstrated the best normal sleeping position. He slept on his right side (Al-Bukhari, 2004) which would be good for digestion and blood circulation since both heart and stomach which are internal organs located on left side of our body will not be physically stressed. th-cam.com/video/kW36nJmnf6Y/w-d-xo.html
@@user-tb8mv2fu2d A large pillow, unless you're careful with positioning it, will elevate your head into a higher-than-normal position, leaving your neck sore in the morning due to being hyper-extended for several hours.
@@user-tb8mv2fu2d you need a pillow that supports you in an anatomically neutral position when you are fully relaxed in your sleep. Ie tall standing position with a slightly chin tucked posture. No tilting of neck sideways or forward or back. Check for a pillow with a comfortable contour to go in the hollow between your head and shoulder it support the neck.
The sadhguru one is easy, just change the direction of your bed to east. The chinese one then it is a lil bit harder, but if you extercise daily and not sleep too much then you are good 🙂
Dang! Who would have thought that sleeping would be this complicating? Well I guess I will have to kick my husband out of the bed to make room for all my pillows.
I fell asleep with my head in my left arm last night, laying on my side. Now my neck has an awful pain and my back is messed up. I came upon this video so I'm happy to start trying these!
Recently I developed the worse sleeping position at my 46. I get up with back pain and chest pain sometimes my arm. I seem to sleep on my arm. I used to sleep facing upwards.
I’ve slept with my head facing south for several yrs now I noticed a huge difference. I have a degenerative spine, lumbar spondylosis plus kyphoscoliosis and osteoarthritis. Thanku for the info great video 🙏
Human is a social animal, during the prehistoric caveman times our ancestors used to cuddle together with several other humans while sleeping (same way the cats and dogs do) . This method not only protected us but also kept us warm due to body heat. Our ancestors, the prehistoric humans, used to sleep like this for 10 or 12 thousand years but we changed our habits to sleep alone or only with another person not so long ago, maybe 3 thousand years. The pillows mimic human cuddling, that's why the method mentioned in video is so effective in getting asleep. It's in our DNA to fall asleep cuddling with something like humans, pillows etc.
Wow, but how do you manage when you turn over during the night? Do you have other pillows already laying on the other side ready to use? I'd love to know how you do it :)
I loved this explanation and I notice since change the position of my bed, I am not sleeping properly and feel me tired when wake next day. Thanks a lot
Sleep what ever position u are comfortable with , except free falling position, because freefall sleeping position is somewhat connected with liver, pancreatic diseases, some people may have it, but unaware about that.
OK, for starters we weren't born with pillows and/or beds but we sure were meant to get a good night's sleep... So my question really is, what's the default way to sleep? How were we made to sleep, in the natural order of things? All I see here is accessorized sleep.
@@ajl2232 wow, how stupid can we get.. Man from 12,000 years ago is still the same today, pillows were first in use about 6500 BCE and those were made of stone. Sleeping areas have always been there, only difference now is that they were raised off the ground, and this change only happened around 4,000 BC.. Essentially still the same... Your response may sound smart and right, but completely incorrect.
@@donfidelisii5396 What I'm saying is we adapt and the human body chances according to the environment. You sound so angry. Relax. Take it easy. It's nothing too serious. Lol
You know, It doesnt matter what sleeping position I fall asleep, without a doubt, 100% of the time, I change positions subconsciously in my sleep. Any improvement I try to make in sleeping posture will get reversed in less then an hour.
Earth's magnetic field is utterly insignificant when it comes to applying the forces needed for tectonic plate movement. Gravity and magnetism are two different things.
This is actually great info and advice. I don't remember where I learned it but I've been sleeping like this for about 10 years now and I have a hard time sleeping if I don't have the extra pillows. Absolute game changer, even if it does look a bit silly using 4 pillows. I even bring two small extra pillows with me when I go camping, lol.
Wonderful. I will go out and buy more pillows and a compass to make sure I sleep in the right direction. Very impressed with Sadguru's knowledge of geology.
I have a lot of trouble sleeping and my experiments mostly confirm Mu Yuchun's teachings. The influence of the earth's magnetic field is questionable for me, though. I would attribute changes to sleep quality in regards to polar directions more to the sun/moon and a game of averages. Like how which direction the window of the average bed room is facing and what's better to sleep/wake up to, direct or indirect sun/moon light. A quick Google search for studies doesn't reveal much supporting the argument either. Before anyone writes an angry reply, I want to say: I respectfully disagree with the statement, that the earth's magnetic field influences blood platelets behavior during sleep, since that would indicate almost certain death in an MRI machine, because its magnetic field is ~60,000 times stronger. However, I strongly do acknowledge the value of Buddhist, Hindu etc. teachings. Not from a religous standpoint, but a scientific one. The environment(monasteries and their social acceptance) created by these religions/philosophies is a unique, milennia running experiement on the human body and mind, pre-dating application of the scientific method on human centric studies. While not all their findings might have the cause they claim, the effects of certain actions are real. The scientific method was created/discovered for a reason. You don't have to believe in Chi, Chakras or other supernatural energies to get great benefit from meditation or Yoga. For the interested, here my extended reasoning, why magnetism is probably not the reason here: From a layman's point of view, yes, iron is magnetic. But everything else stops right there. There isn't pure metallic iron captured in your blood platelets. The iron is bound with other atoms. Why is that different? For a material to be magnetic it needs to be in a certain arrangement/structure. Known magnetic materials are all crystals afaik. Crystal in this case doesn't mean shiny gems, but a known and repeating structure. Pure iron is also in a crytaline state and iron has magnetic properties by nature. Explaining any further would go too deep into the area quantum effects and I'm not confident in my knowledge there. All you need to know is, the chemically bound iron in your blood and elsewhere is "demagnetized". The super strong MRI magnetic field affects the water in your body, not your blood platelets. Yes, counter-intuitively, the water in your body reacts more to a strong magnetic field, than the iron in your blood. And an MRI arranges all the water molecules in the direction of its magnet. Once the magnet is turned off, the water molecules return to disorder and emit radiation in the process. That radiation is measured by the MRI machine, so it knows where more and where less water is in your body. I think, it's a bit irresponsible to possibly make people afraid they'll die soon, because their sleeping direction caused them blood platelet overload in the brain.
You are right. The idea that sleeping with head towards the North (or South) is unhealthy is plainly stupid. It comes from the Vastu Shastra, just one of those religious-based ancient traditions that become pseudo-science when they arrive in the West. And like any pseudo-science it should just be ignored for good. There is no f***ing chance the magnetic poles can affect the iron and blood in animals' bodies. Saying that just shows complete lack of the most basic scientifc knowledge. It is even more stupid than believing in Homeopathy or Astrology.
@@lsf698 That are some strong words good Sir or Madam. I wouldn't call it stupid, but misguided. As I said, these traditions are probably based on centuries of experience, but you can't expect someone with the focus on religion and philosophy to also be well versed in physics. My hope for the future is, that both meet on common ground. That's what makes a great religious leader. One that listens and tries to include new knowledge into old traditions.
when you state that one of the poles might kill you, and you walk alive from a MRI machine ( which is basically a big ass magnet, way closer to your head than the actual poles), that is a stupid thing to say. Channels like this, who spread misinformation should be shut down, because they do more harm then good.
Wow, but how do you manage when you turn over during the night? Do you have other pillows already laying on the other side ready to use? I'd love to know how you do it :)
I’ve been sleeping on the floor for the past 5 years. No pillows, no mattress! I just use a mat. This alone solved all my issues with back pain and body aches etc. I don’t think men are supposed to sleep on soft cushions.
After 33 year ls I am waking up with no pain🙏🏻 I just found an amazing pillow in Europe and no more pain and broke neck in the mornings , I even cry when I am think about the pain in the past but thanks To God and this pillow I am very happy 🙏🏻
Sleep position was first taught to me here in Sth Australia from my Indian Nana who many times talked of sleeping with feet to the rising and head to setting sun. Sadhguru adds some and goes at it like a wholistic physician. The chinese use of the 4 pillows, is stellar and I can see how assisted alignment and reducing strain on the body whilst resting is possible.
I'm from Africa and most of us don't sleep with our heads pointing North. In our tribe, we sleep with our heads to East (sunrise) and feet to the West (sunset). We're buried that way too.
Wow learned something new! I have the worst sleep. For the past 20yrs I've never gotten 6-8hrs, 4-5 is my daily average and I also feel beat up in the mornings and have sleep apnea... I am going to try this and then post a follow up after 2 weeks and let you guys know 👍

I didn't even have to watch this video and have already been sleeping like this because its what makes my body feels the most comfortable. Im glad I've been doing this right.
I've been sleeping on my stomach since I was a small kid (74 years). I use pillows to keep my heart free from pressure. I also move a lot. I'll try this but I'm happy with the positions I use already.
Yeah, I love sleeping on my stomach as well. In addition to helping with back pain, it was the only way I could relieve pressure from my wrists and elbows due to the carpal tunnel syndrome. Sleeping on the side with the pillow in between legs also helps to reduce pain in lower back.
I have been sleeping with my head towards the North (I live in the northern hemisphere) for the last 5 years and have a great sleep and always wake up with a lot of energy.
When I watch this video for the first time, I think it was about a year ago. I was shocked because I’ve been sleeping this way on my side for about 20 years. I use four pillows exactly the way he teaches how to sleep. I could not believe howon point I was with his teachings and I have never seen this video before that. But that is the best way for me to sleep because I feel better when I wake up.
I worked a tree pillow (two upper body, one for feet, all relatively small and firm) system out by myself. The foot pillow is flat round for easy turning/moving, and was the last final touch for a healthy sleep. My main pillow is filled with spelled grain: it forms firmly around my head and is able to absorb moisture to about 70% of its volume and doesn‘t smell bad even after 10 years. The other pillow long and firm, for my arms or to support my back.
So apparently humans were designed with the idea that they would be sleeping in a sea of pillows to be sleeping correctly and before pillows were invented everyone in the past slept horribly
You can apply this logic to any advancement we've ever made, it's not a fair argument. Also humans now are significantly different to humans in the past.

Amazing! I’ve been sleeping on my side w/pillows in the EXACT same positions for years now, simply because it was just more comfortable to me! I had no idea that it might be good for my posture, quality of sleep, etc! I also didn’t know about the whole “sleeping direction,” thing. I've been sleeping like this for years without anyone explaining it to me. It's just a question of awareness of your own body that will tell you what to do
My Grandma sleeps every day at 8 PM and wakes up at 4 AM. Now she is 85 old, she doesn't have any health issues like me even my age is 25 years old........Technology makes us sick.
THANK YOU MasterYuChun. Doctors and specialists have been saying for years that sleeping on the side is bad for you. I'm a side sleeper, so the extra pillows will help me a lot. Great video
This episode lost me when it started explaining how gravitational field is stronger towards the north. Gravitational field is not the same as magnetic field. The pillows is a genuine advise and has it's anatomical value and explanation.
It seems very informative but difficult to understand I want to understand it Kindly make this video again in a very simple understanding way I’ll be grateful
Im sooooo stoked that the side method with the pillows is literally exactly what I ended up gravitating towards naturally. I lay on my left side. Left forearm raised and resting onto my wooden bedpost. I hold one pillow with my right arm close to my chest. I keep a pillow between my knees. I do all this with just 3 pillows. Can't imagine anything being more comfortable.
I was at a very spiritual place and was awoken by a voice telling me to put my head to the North. I moved and was suddenly able to hear my daughters thoughts while she slept. There I have experienced Samadhi twice. This discovery that everything is love tells me that this information is wrong. I do however sleep in this side position with two extra pillows so I know this information is correct. I hope this tells you to think carefully about who you listen to. 🙏🏽🤙🏼🙏🏽
Yay! Discovered that I'm doing it all "correctly" and always awaken well-rested! I can't imagine trying to sleep with a multitude of pillows, however...I'd get all tangled up :-D
My bed was facing north. I was saying something is wrong. I wanted to turn my bed to the west. I changed the orientation of my bed when I saw this video yesterday. I slept very well last night. The mood of the room has changed. It was very good. My feelings are correct.Feng shuide says put your head north, but I think that's wrong.👍👍
1:57 I've done this every night I go to sleep for a year now. It really works unless I change positions. When I change my position, I tend to go back and sometime unconsciously taking the pillows back from position.
From somebody who suffers back and shoulder problems and has discovered all first set of techniques through years of trial and error - I can confirm they're 100% accurate - for me. Even the comments about dreams from sleeping on your back; the wrong supine head position legitimately exacerbates my anxiety after a few minutes. I sleep on my side. My only issue is my inside shoulder rolls forward. Still trying to sort this out.
I don’t have the ability to choose which direction I sleep facing because my room is only big enough to have the bed facing in one direction, but I have experimented a lot sleeping positions over the years because of issues caused by my disability, and what I have ended up finding to be best is very similar to the pillow arrangement in this video, only I use a body pillow in place of the pillow against the chest and the one between the legs. I also use a moulded memory foam pillow to help keep the correct head position when I sleep on my back (I have to move positions often during the night due to pain so I sleep both on my side and on my back). It’s always interesting to see how individuals can come to the same solutions completely independently of one another isn’t it. I see so many other people in this comment section also saying that they have already found this to be the best sleeping position for themselves before watching this video too.
Great information and my husband used to think I was crazy when I would say we have to move the bed to face a different direction, until he saw that I slept better.
Oh wow!! I'm a side sleeper and I am SOOO GLAD I did exactly like what the Master said! 😍 it's just automatically my body like able to think and know that if I put pillows on certain way, that's the most comfortable thing for my body! As a single person live alone to have those many pillows on bed, my friends were confused why do I have such many pillows, till I explain it to them! I will send this video to them, Thank you for sharing this valuable video 😍🙏🏼💖
I suffer from a slipped disc and this is exactly how I’ve been told to place pillows by doctors in the Uk. I’ve never known any doctor tell you to sleep flat on your back without support. Not in the last 20 years at least!
Objection: I'd like to point out that no, the magnetic field of the earth is not responsible for tectonic plate movement and also is not strong enough to pull blood to your head. The tectonic plates move because of heat circulation inside earths core. The heated magma rises, pushes itself along the continental plates, cools off and plummets back down. This moves tectonic plates in three different ways: Towards each other, away from each other, or alongside each other. The magnetic field on the other hand is as the name suggests a field, not gravity, just an electromagnetic field also powered by our earths iron core that prevents deadly solar rays from our star to just blaze everything. Everything till minute 4:00 was informative, but everything after that is just misinformation. Fun Fact: [Edit: False Claim]
started laughing so hard, i do those exact 4 pillows for side posture because I felt that my hand and chest needed something, and for the face up posture, I always added a pillow below legs wtf I guess I listen to my body carefully so funny
Wow, but how do you manage when you turn over during the night? Do you have other pillows already laying on the other side ready to use? I'd love to know how you do it :)
I have tested it , I was always sleeping towards east, several days ago I changed bed position and started to sleep head towards south. First night: blood started running from my nose pillow became red.. Second night: headache in the morning feeling pressure in my head. Third: throat ache and pressure in head.. Fourth: bed came back in same position as it was before :D East is the right way for me! Sweden

@@gregdavidson100 honestly, I have a pillow above my round memory foam one I use for my neck. That is the one I shift to either side to support the arm on the side I am laying on, then I have a dense pillow I 'bear hug' under my arm pit and side so I can stretch out that arm forward without my shoulder pulling me over and hyper extending. Then I use basically a dense foam cushion between my knees more upwards towards my hips to help keep me from twisting and from my hips pulling/compressing. Because the way I hold on to the pillow and knee cushion, it is easy to hold onto them as I roll over in position and doze back off. ✌️

God Bless You🙏❤🕊
I have noticed a big difference when changing sleeping directions, some places you have no choice where to put your bed.
Sleep well 😊
I personally really appreciate this information. Thank you Master Yu Chan.
I’ve read the opposite.
@@Rebelmusedesign idk what to believe anymore 🤷🏽♂️ lol
Lol you can sleep on any side and nothing will get pressed. Thats why we have ribs, bones, muscles and a big layer of skin
Sleeping on the left lowers the blood pressure

Magnetic effect on the brain,nope.

Thats amazing ! Knowledge is the key

For the interested, here my extended reasoning, why magnetism is probably not the reason here:
From a layman's point of view, yes, iron is magnetic.
One that listens and tries to include new knowledge into old traditions.
nailed it
when you state that one of the poles might kill you, and you walk alive from a MRI machine ( which is basically a big ass magnet, way closer to your head than the actual poles), that is a stupid thing to say.

I also use a moulded memory foam pillow to help keep the correct head position when I sleep on my back (I have to move positions often during the night due to pain so I sleep both on my side and on my back).
It’s always interesting to see how individuals can come to the same solutions completely independently of one another isn’t it. I see so many other people in this comment section also saying that they have already found this to be the best sleeping position for themselves before watching this video too.
you can always put your head at the other end of the bed if you cant move the bed.
No matter the direction your bed must face, YOU can lie on it in any direction you like. :)
Thank you for your service, it’s very helpful!!!
Objection:
I'd like to point out that no, the magnetic field of the earth is not responsible for tectonic plate movement and also is not strong enough to pull blood to your head.

I completely agree , this type of video is misleading and strives to con people. At least someone else has a brain
started laughing so hard, i do those exact 4 pillows for side posture because I felt that my hand and chest needed something, and for the face up posture, I always added a pillow below legs wtf I guess I listen to my body carefully so funny

Fourth: bed came back in same position as it was before :D
East is the right way for me! Sweden
I sleep in those good positions naturally. We need to do whatever makes us feel the most comfiest.
I do all this because it was the most comfortable, but now I appreciate it all so much more.

@@mindlessthenie Thankyou so much for those wonderful tips, that all makes great sense and I hugely appreciate you taking the time to share! Big blessings and sweet dreams!
@@gregdavidson100 You are very welcome my friend!
It’s hard to control how your sleeping when you’re in a deep sleep 😴
i know i have a bad shoulder because i sleep on it all the time i try not to..
Exactly
With time your subconscious will take care just like with passing of time we don't tie our shoe laces with conscious mind but it just happens exactly in the same order.
I used to go to sleep and wake up on the other side of the bed. But the older I get the less I move. Last couple years I've always woken up exactly how I slept its crazy
@@Big-BossX lol same
I tried the first one instantly after the explanation and "DAMN" I slept so well
