    This absolutely works! I have tried sleeping with the pillows as suggested the last 2 nights and have woken up full of energy and without snoring and without a sore neck. I have been really exhausted the last 3 months - no matter how much I sleep I wake up tired. My husband told me, I haven't snored the last 2 nights. Give it a try. :)

    He’s right, I experimented with this one night when I was feelin discomfort. I ended up buying too many pillows. Or so I thought. I placed every single pillow exactly as the video instructed. I did this not knowing what it was I was actually doin. I’m not sure which direction I was facing. But when I got to the good spot, I felt energy & pressure alleviate from my head almost instantly. This is amazing.

    • @lisadefries6718
      @lisadefries6718 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      But you probably have a choice where you put pillow your head rests on.
      I have a bedroom with dual aspect and have tried moving bed to all orientations of my room simply to utilise space better but instinctively I found my sleep wasnt as good as normal so reverted to my previous position which was as described in video for northern hemisphere .
      Although I dont use a pillow for my hand/arm but its cool in winter and I tend to feel happiest with duvet rapped around me to keep my body warm and muscles therefore more relaxed as they warm. I will monitor what I do with hand next time I sleep and see if I can modify it a little.
      Sleep well 😊

    This video confirms what I have been doing for the last two years. I started sleeping on my back after doing yoga one day. During yoga, I just lay flat on my back and look up at the sky. (This helps with spine realignment.) One way while doing yoga, I fell asleep in this position. I tried sleeping in the same position that night when I went to bed. I woke up feeling great. No back pain. Np snoring. I felt restored.

    Sleeping on your right - suppresses the liver.
    Sleeping on the left - pressures the heart.
    Sleeping on your back - with rolled small towel under your neck - is best for me. With knees slightly bent.

    this definately works, especially for side sleepers and people with neck/shoulder problems (like myslef). I move around in my sleep which shifts the pillows and causes pressure points on neck/nerves. There is a Chinese name for this method, but basically it is the 5 Pillow Method for sleep setup. The pillow type size, thickness and firmness is important as well, if you notice the pillows that the Chinese Master is using it is not too firm, not too thick. I recommend using thin medium soft pillows but stack them if needing thicker size (rather then 1 thick pillow). For my setup, I use 1 thin memory foam pillow (but regular shape/not contoured/thin soft pillow on top in middle of bed), then on both sides I actually started using a balled up down comforter blanket as a pillow as it covers more surface area (I put it on top of a pillow to give it some structure). It eliminated my chronic shoulder, arm pains and headaches. I always sleep on my sides (left or right side), I tried to change to being a back sleeper many times but it never works, I am just conditioned to being a side sleeper.

  • @Veruska5

    I guess listening to our body is the key. When you are sleeping incorrectly, you will feel and try to adjust until you find the right and most comfortable position. Now, the polarity makes sense but I never heard about it before. If this statement is true, then it’s something really serious that deserves a lot of attention! Definitely asking my chiropractor about it.

      Magnetic effect on the brain,nope.
      Raising skull above height of heart,however,yup.
      As this would lower the cranial blood pressure.
      Experiment....sit.....put head between knees.....count to 60......note how you feel .......then CAREFULLY stand up......
      note your reaction to this.
      Sit down and think.
      Then lie down NS,WE,SN,EW.
      Note the fact that the difference in change in cranial blood pressure is far more dependent on HEIGHT ABOVE HEART rather than a sophist saying you should sleep facing North,South,East,West,or facing towards any arbitrary random location.

    Human is a social animal, during the prehistoric caveman times our ancestors used to cuddle together with several other humans while sleeping (same way the cats and dogs do) . This method not only protected us but also kept us warm due to body heat. Our ancestors, the prehistoric humans, used to sleep like this for 10 or 12 thousand years but we changed our habits to sleep alone or only with another person not so long ago, maybe 3 thousand years. The pillows mimic human cuddling, that's why the method mentioned in video is so effective in getting asleep. It's in our DNA to fall asleep cuddling with something like humans, pillows etc.

    I have a lot of trouble sleeping and my experiments mostly confirm Mu Yuchun's teachings. The influence of the earth's magnetic field is questionable for me, though. I would attribute changes to sleep quality in regards to polar directions more to the sun/moon and a game of averages. Like how which direction the window of the average bed room is facing and what's better to sleep/wake up to, direct or indirect sun/moon light. A quick Google search for studies doesn't reveal much supporting the argument either.
    Before anyone writes an angry reply, I want to say: I respectfully disagree with the statement, that the earth's magnetic field influences blood platelets behavior during sleep, since that would indicate almost certain death in an MRI machine, because its magnetic field is ~60,000 times stronger. However, I strongly do acknowledge the value of Buddhist, Hindu etc. teachings. Not from a religous standpoint, but a scientific one. The environment(monasteries and their social acceptance) created by these religions/philosophies is a unique, milennia running experiement on the human body and mind, pre-dating application of the scientific method on human centric studies. While not all their findings might have the cause they claim, the effects of certain actions are real. The scientific method was created/discovered for a reason. You don't have to believe in Chi, Chakras or other supernatural energies to get great benefit from meditation or Yoga.
    For the interested, here my extended reasoning, why magnetism is probably not the reason here:
    From a layman's point of view, yes, iron is magnetic. But everything else stops right there. There isn't pure metallic iron captured in your blood platelets. The iron is bound with other atoms. Why is that different? For a material to be magnetic it needs to be in a certain arrangement/structure. Known magnetic materials are all crystals afaik. Crystal in this case doesn't mean shiny gems, but a known and repeating structure. Pure iron is also in a crytaline state and iron has magnetic properties by nature. Explaining any further would go too deep into the area quantum effects and I'm not confident in my knowledge there. All you need to know is, the chemically bound iron in your blood and elsewhere is "demagnetized". The super strong MRI magnetic field affects the water in your body, not your blood platelets. Yes, counter-intuitively, the water in your body reacts more to a strong magnetic field, than the iron in your blood. And an MRI arranges all the water molecules in the direction of its magnet. Once the magnet is turned off, the water molecules return to disorder and emit radiation in the process. That radiation is measured by the MRI machine, so it knows where more and where less water is in your body. I think, it's a bit irresponsible to possibly make people afraid they'll die soon, because their sleeping direction caused them blood platelet overload in the brain.

    • @lsf698
      @lsf698 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are right. The idea that sleeping with head towards the North (or South) is unhealthy is plainly stupid. It comes from the Vastu Shastra, just one of those religious-based ancient traditions that become pseudo-science when they arrive in the West. And like any pseudo-science it should just be ignored for good. There is no f***ing chance the magnetic poles can affect the iron and blood in animals' bodies. Saying that just shows complete lack of the most basic scientifc knowledge. It is even more stupid than believing in Homeopathy or Astrology.

    • @OperationDarkside
      @OperationDarkside 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@lsf698 That are some strong words good Sir or Madam. I wouldn't call it stupid, but misguided. As I said, these traditions are probably based on centuries of experience, but you can't expect someone with the focus on religion and philosophy to also be well versed in physics. My hope for the future is, that both meet on common ground. That's what makes a great religious leader. One that listens and tries to include new knowledge into old traditions.

    Im sooooo stoked that the side method with the pillows is literally exactly what I ended up gravitating towards naturally.
    I lay on my left side. Left forearm raised and resting onto my wooden bedpost.
    I hold one pillow with my right arm close to my chest.
    I keep a pillow between my knees.
    I do all this with just 3 pillows. Can't imagine anything being more comfortable.

    I was at a very spiritual place and was awoken by a voice telling me to put my head to the North. I moved and was suddenly able to hear my daughters thoughts while she slept. There I have experienced Samadhi twice. This discovery that everything is love tells me that this information is wrong. I do however sleep in this side position with two extra pillows so I know this information is correct. I hope this tells you to think carefully about who you listen to. 🙏🏽🤙🏼🙏🏽

    From somebody who suffers back and shoulder problems and has discovered all first set of techniques through years of trial and error - I can confirm they're 100% accurate - for me. Even the comments about dreams from sleeping on your back; the wrong supine head position legitimately exacerbates my anxiety after a few minutes.
    I sleep on my side. My only issue is my inside shoulder rolls forward. Still trying to sort this out.

    I don’t have the ability to choose which direction I sleep facing because my room is only big enough to have the bed facing in one direction, but I have experimented a lot sleeping positions over the years because of issues caused by my disability, and what I have ended up finding to be best is very similar to the pillow arrangement in this video, only I use a body pillow in place of the pillow against the chest and the one between the legs. I also use a moulded memory foam pillow to help keep the correct head position when I sleep on my back (I have to move positions often during the night due to pain so I sleep both on my side and on my back).
    It’s always interesting to see how individuals can come to the same solutions completely independently of one another isn’t it. I see so many other people in this comment section also saying that they have already found this to be the best sleeping position for themselves before watching this video too.

    Objection:
    I'd like to point out that no, the magnetic field of the earth is not responsible for tectonic plate movement and also is not strong enough to pull blood to your head. The tectonic plates move because of heat circulation inside earths core. The heated magma rises, pushes itself along the continental plates, cools off and plummets back down. This moves tectonic plates in three different ways: Towards each other, away from each other, or alongside each other.
    The magnetic field on the other hand is as the name suggests a field, not gravity, just an electromagnetic field also powered by our earths iron core that prevents deadly solar rays from our star to just blaze everything.
    Everything till minute 4:00 was informative, but everything after that is just misinformation.
    Fun Fact: [Edit: False Claim]

    Fourth: bed came back in same position as it was before :D

      @@gregdavidson100 honestly, I have a pillow above my round memory foam one I use for my neck. That is the one I shift to either side to support the arm on the side I am laying on, then I have a dense pillow I 'bear hug' under my arm pit and side so I can stretch out that arm forward without my shoulder pulling me over and hyper extending. Then I use basically a dense foam cushion between my knees more upwards towards my hips to help keep me from twisting and from my hips pulling/compressing. Because the way I hold on to the pillow and knee cushion, it is easy to hold onto them as I roll over in position and doze back off. ✌️
