ESTE MAGNIFICAT É MÚSICA SUBLIME COM FORTE CONTEÚDO RELIGIOSO. ALIÁS, MENDELSSOHN FOI O MELHOR COMPOSITOR DE MÚSICA SACRA DO ROMANTISMO MUSICAL. O SEU CONJUNTO DE MÚSICA SACRA INCLUINDO OS SEUS SALMOS, E OS DOIS GRANDES ORATÓRIOS "PAULUS OPUS 36" E "ELIAS OPUS 70" COMPROVAM O QUE ESTOU AFIRMANDO.

Beautiful!
It appears that this is MWV A2, completed in 1822, when Felix Mendelssohn was just thirteen years old. He published another "Magnificat" just before he died in 1847 -- MWV B59, the third Motet in Opus 69 -- but it is very different (in B Flat Major and with German lyrics replacing the Latin).
Indeed! It is so so interesting to hear Mendelssohn's very early work, thank god some of it survived! It is clear that this is almost late-baroque pastiche in nature, before he found his unique distinctive style that all his later works have!
