  • The TREMEC install is done! Now time to install the exhaust, but first, let's use some DEI Titanium Header wrap to keep the brake lines from getting too hot! Should be a fun learning experience, because I've never done this before. If I can do this at home, so can you! "How to Install DEI Titanium Header Wrap" can be applied to all makes and models of performance cars.

    Question :
    I wonder if folding over the 45° might allow you to use 1 strap on the end ?? I'll try it.

      Awesome Steph! That'll look, killer! You're probably going to need two straps... but, let us know. (I used two, one for backup, just in case the other came loose) Have fun!

    Nice work 👍🏼. I’ve been contemplating wrap or the VHT Flame Proof spray paint. Curious to see the temp difference on the ceramic surface vs the wrap.

    • @FastMonty
      @FastMonty  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! Yeah, I don't know the heat reduction we'd see with ceramic vs wrap. But, the flame proof paint won't do anything. Prett sure thats just paint and won't reduce Temps. Let us know if you find out any more details. Thanks again!

    Can you leave the tape on and let it burn off, or will it discolor?

      Do not ever soak the DEI titanium wrap . It also don't itch like fiberglass wrap. .you soak fiberglass wrap to keep the glass fibers from floating in the air so you don't breathe them in.

    • @PNWShawn
      @PNWShawn 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      If using fiberglass tape yes, but NOT the DEI titanium wrap. Regular fiberglass wrap absolutely want to soak before wrapping, then idle engine several minutes to dry. Some also recommend then spraying down with water to fully soak and idling engine to dry a second time with fiberglass tape. However, DEI says you do not soak their titanium wrap. (I see that Backyard-Built-Trucks already made this comment, but I second it!)

      Good question, Dan. Unfortunately, No, it won't stop a leak. That said, if your leak is at the fitting between the flex pipe, and exhaust, take it apart and use Permatex Optimum Red www.summitracing.com/parts/ptx-27038 ... it worked for me (which is actually a future video of mine).
