Man, I couldn’t have said it better myself. I first heard this at the very end of my gaming session. Chapter 9 had *just* started, it was late and I had to work the next day. But I couldn’t bring myself to turn it off, so I just sat there with this playing on screen. You’re so right. It sounds like falling in love. I was falling in love with the Remake and the original all over again simultaneously. Impossible to recapture that feeling again.
It was at this part in the game (never played the original), that I realized Cloud’s character is the theme of the game: cost. Nothing is without cost. Avalanche costs lives (even what an avalanche is). Magic in this world is an item that is used up; magic costs something. Shinra costs the planet. Nothing is forever, and always costs something. Aerith is the embodiment of “living now” and Cloud is the embodiment of “stuck in the past”. He’s haunted it, a cloud over everyone’s mood, except for Aerith is a glimpse of hope that there’s a tomorrow. She’s says the most important but probably overlooked line: “Gotta look forward, not back” and THIS is the game’s message. We can’t fix what’s happened, but we can save what is, we can live for the moment because it’s all we have. There’s a last time for everything. A final fantasy.
When Cloud has to sneak out on Aerith, I wasn't ready for that date to end. I just wanted Cloud to spend more time with Aerith, and was disappointed that Cloud may not see her again. I was smiling uncontrollably when I first learned that Aerith surprises Cloud on the route back to sector 7. It still is my favorite part of the Remake.
I don't know what emotion this is called, but this song has perfectly distilled it... It's like a long walk home on a summer evening, peaceful and reflective.
got the game on release date. 4 months later (after i cleared the game) my girlfriend of Five years and i broke up. during the grieving process i listened to the soundtrack a lot. the OST has been a comfort for me since i was a kid and it was during that time of my life. The song makes me think of the years with her in a bittersweet way.
Same here... I couldn't believe how amazing the moment and song was. I didn't think they'd be able to make FF VII's soundtrack greater than it was in the original, but somehow they did it.

IKR!!!! FF7 was the reason why I wanted to become a bideo game artist. and although I havent achieved that dream its nice to see that my wish to see this game in 3d come to fruition

@Scott Davis when Cloud sneaks out of Aerith's house to leave. Right when she reveals she was waiting for him and starts to walk ahead he has a quick flash back that makes him realize seeing her walk away saddens him deeply for some reason. A tear falls down from his eye. Aerith asks, "What's wrong?" and turns away quickly so she can't see.
This track in particular really hits me harder than any in the game for some reason. It has a very nostalgic, bittersweet and slightly melancholic feel to me. To me it reminds me of something that is pure, fun, and innocent but ultimately not meant to last, like childhood, or the magic of a first date as a teen on a warm summer night when everything is lighthearted and fun, and you're swept up into the emotions of young love, something that will eventually end as you grow older. Or the joy of playing the original game as a teen back in the day when things were simpler. It's also especially poignant within the context of the game, given the coming fate of Aerith later in the game; it's like a brief and temporary moment amid all the chaos where things are kind of okay for just a bit, something meant to be savored while you can.
This song gives the vibe of in my opinion happiness, calm but also a sad vibe. Because we don't know if Aerith will still stay with us in the future. I just hope we can have different endings. Cuz literally I felt obliberated when I was 4 or 5 seeing Aerith being stabbed.
Odd. Never touched the OG FF7 so this was my first introduction to the series. Found myself laughing and enjoying every moment. Listening to each of the OSTs brings an indescribable feeling. Teary eyes and tightness in the chest. Definitely a memorable game that I have ever played. Can't wait for PT 2 to come out on PC.

For me this song is one of the best if not the best. It gives you a feeling that aerith is excited going onto an adventure but I think she knows her future and is going to be sad that she will leave cloud. Saying that she will enjoy the moment and the time and that's all you can do in life is enjoy the moment. I really think the second disk will be aerith has come back from the original to fix or change the past who knows let's see where it rides us
Love-hate relationship with this song. I love how perfectly it fits this moment in the game and the budding romance between Aerith and Cloud. I hate how it makes me remember past failed loves of my own. Every man wishes for an Aerith. Very few of us deserve one. Even fewer actually find one.
I´m from 1998 and i never played any FF game, i knew the saga but never played any of them. I picked this game in 2021 cuz it was for free on PS and when chapter 8 began and the music start playing... maaaaaan that was so beautiful! Seeing Aerith coming back to Cloud, those two being together, walking at the midnight with THIS song playing in the background and me playing at night. MAAAAN! I LOOOVE that moment.

When this game just came out, i absolutely loved it , it hit me with nostalgia that would take me back to a time in my childhood were i could remember the way the sun came through the window...i remembered things related to that period of time and it made me happy....but through out my play through allot of the memories reminded me of my mum, from begging to get the game...being shouted at to turn it off late at night and times she would come into my room to call me down for dinner or that i asked here were north east south and west was when i got out of midgar to go to Kalm. Though through out this playthrough I had this heavy feeling in my heart for my mum it was weird it was like i felt something was going to happen. December of 2020/Jan 2021 my mum told us she had breast cancer (im not looking sympathy.) she died in August of 2021 from Covid said her immune system was too weak....what im getting at is. Its amazing how sometimes a game is more than a game....moments sounds and events capture moments in time in your mind and every time i play ff7 or some of the others it unlocks these blissful recollections of memories that are so vivid you can almost smell the cooking downstairs lol . I really appreciate the final fantasy series and for having experienced them as a child were characters inspired you taught you not to give up etc etc.....its just crazy how games, music or movies etc can have that impact on us.....though I'm glad it does.
It has a similar effect on me too. My childhood wasn't the best and I used to escape from stuff in video games. Final Fantasy 7, 8 and 9 were my escapes from what was a shitty family life. Over time it's deteriorated even more and even though I don't get along with them anymore those games reminds me of the times when things were OK. Things like you say the smell of dinner being made or me trying to sneak and play this game at night and my mum coming into to see if I'm asleep (I used to stick blue tack on the ps1 light to make it look like it wasn't on (my mum cottoned onto this one night and turned it off whilst I was grinding 🤣🤣🤣)) this Remake made me think of all those times again and it's sad because they were simpler times and I miss them somewhat

this game makes me so nostalgic, and the music plays a big part in that. may i mention, as well, that FFVIIRI was my first final fantasy game, i knew nothing of the series beforehand, not one thing. and yet, even though my first foray into the series was back in July this year, it's just so damn nostalgia-instilling.

I have to say, I've always regarded Uematsu as the greatest video game composer. I was also afraid they would ruin the music of ff7 in the remake. I don't know how Suzuki did it, but this song not only felt like it already existed in the original (I could have sworn I already knew it) but it made me extremely emotional. I can hardly wait to see and hear part 2!

@@FFKupoNut I'm not sure exactly 🤔 Hollow Skies also sounded like it always belonged, but it was done by Uematsu. Maybe Suzuki, working with Uematsu, was able to draw some inspiration? You're probably also right about using similar sounds and processes as well. I was pretty happy with the Wal Street theme being re-adapted to the journey there. It confused me though lol until I heard the brand new Wal Street song start up. I was soooo happy to hear Under the Rotten Pizza, and that they didn't mess with it too much. I still love the original though. It'll be fun to hear what they do in Cosmo Canyon, Wutai, the Northern Crater, etc. as the journey continues!

This part was my favourite part of the game for a few reasons. First of all right at the start when you have the options to buy flowers from Aerith & there’s a brief interchange between the two. It sets the viewer up even as a new player to think that there’s something between these two characters. Then as the player progresses & saves Aerith in the church and helps her navigate back to her home, you learn that Cloud actually cares about her more than he’s letting on. Then shortly before this scene when Cloud learns of Aeriths abilities & why she’s so important to Shinra. He knows that if they hang around together then they’ll always be hunted - he cares enough that he leaves in the middle of the night just to protect her from would be pursuers. Only to be confronted here by Aerith showing that she isn’t gonna let him walk out of her life just yet. Then the music hits, it’s nighttime, it’s dark, almost like anything is possible again. I hope Square realise what the fan base wants with this story.

Not only that but you will also soon realise that the Whispers are fans like you, wanting everything to be the same. I personally think that the creators regret making Aerith die, hence why Red XIII calls it a bad Future, if they failed the fight with the arbiter. Majory want another outcome, it s what everyone deserves.
Thanks for the video. Favorite song in the game I think. Got into the series with 13, and moments like when this song first started playing are why I love it so much. Between FF16 and its DLC and now rebirth it’s been a great year and a half for final fantasy fans I am almost done with the remake part 1, should finish it just in time for rebirth. Plan to play the OG at some point but I still gotta play games like FF 6,8,9 and 12.

Since the guy who composed this song did a lot of work on the Final Fantasy XIII trilogy, this track has become my unofficial Zack & Serah romantic theme song based on the time they briefly met in World of Final Fantasy. The style and tone just _oozes_ XIII’s overall aesthetic, but the music comes from a remake of Final Fantasy VII.

As a Cloti purist this whole section and music makes me feel exceptionally jealous over the fact that you never really get to share a moment loaded with this kind of emotion with Tifa in the game.
I went through a really harsh moment in my life, played FF VII remake, hoping to feel joy with Uematsu's soundtrack. I had really good moments playing this game with my sons and then this tune hit me really hard. Not an Uematsu's production, but the calm, the softness etc... in this song, the moment in the game... I felt bitter and sweet, put the controller down for a moment, and just listenned to it. This is a fantastic piece of music

My first FF game i´ve touched. Buyed it because i knowed that i would like it. After the first hours i realized this game is amazing. By playing and after that scene...i´ve realized that this is something REALLY REALLY SPECIAL. The develepors fueld this game with all their passion, you can feel it. Every film mentioned except Blade Runner were period pieces set before computers were a thing, yet his scores were mainly composed electronically with synthesizers, and it worked well in their respective films. I can definitely see this one track being Vangelis-inspired, or something he would have likely composed himself, given that Blade Runner was popular in Japan for a time, and he composed the score for a Japanese film called Antarctica. got the game on release date. 4 months later (after i cleared the game) my girlfriend of Five years and i broke up. during the grieving process i listened to the soundtrack a lot.
the OST has been a comfort for me since i was a kid and it was during that time of my life. The song makes me think of the years with her in a bittersweet way.
Or to be full of regret.
My dog died shortly after this game was released. I played it to help cope with my grief. 3 years later, this song still reminds me of her.

@Scott Davis when Cloud sneaks out of Aerith's house to leave. Right when she reveals she was waiting for him and starts to walk ahead he has a quick flash back that makes him realize seeing her walk away saddens him deeply for some reason. A tear falls down from his eye. Aerith asks, "What's wrong?" and turns away quickly so she can't see.
This game taught me to see the beauty in even the saddest moments. And this soundtrack depicts that so well. What an astonishing game
This track in particular really hits me harder than any in the game for some reason. It has a very nostalgic, bittersweet and slightly melancholic feel to me. To me it reminds me of something that is pure, fun, and innocent but ultimately not meant to last, like childhood, or the magic of a first date as a teen on a warm summer night when everything is lighthearted and fun, and you're swept up into the emotions of young love, something that will eventually end as you grow older. Or the joy of playing the original game as a teen back in the day when things were simpler. It's also especially poignant within the context of the game, given the coming fate of Aerith later in the game; it's like a brief and temporary moment amid all the chaos where things are kind of okay for just a bit, something meant to be savored while you can.
Something about this track just grabs you and makes you feel 3 different ways all at once😂

Odd. Never touched the OG FF7 so this was my first introduction to the series. Found myself laughing and enjoying every moment. Listening to each of the OSTs brings an indescribable feeling. Teary eyes and tightness in the chest. Definitely a memorable game that I have ever played. Can't wait for PT 2 to come out on PC.

For me this song is one of the best if not the best. It gives you a feeling that aerith is excited going onto an adventure but I think she knows her future and is going to be sad that she will leave cloud. Saying that she will enjoy the moment and the time and that's all you can do in life is enjoy the moment. I really think the second disk will be aerith has come back from the original to fix or change the past who knows let's see where it rides us

Love-hate relationship with this song. I love how perfectly it fits this moment in the game and the budding romance between Aerith and Cloud. I hate how it makes me remember past failed loves of my own. Every man wishes for an Aerith. Very few of us deserve one. Even fewer actually find one.
I´m from 1998 and i never played any FF game, i knew the saga but never played any of them. I picked this game in 2021 cuz it was for free on PS and when chapter 8 began and the music start playing... maaaaaan that was so beautiful! Seeing Aerith coming back to Cloud, those two being together, walking at the midnight with THIS song playing in the background and me playing at night. MAAAAN! I LOOOVE that moment.

When this game just came out, i absolutely loved it , it hit me with nostalgia that would take me back to a time in my childhood were i could remember the way the sun came through the window...i remembered things related to that period of time and it made me happy....but through out my play through allot of the memories reminded me of my mum, from begging to get the game...being shouted at to turn it off late at night and times she would come into my room to call me down for dinner or that i asked here were north east south and west was when i got out of midgar to go to Kalm. Though through out this playthrough I had this heavy feeling in my heart for my mum it was weird it was like i felt something was going to happen. December of 2020/Jan 2021 my mum told us she had breast cancer (im not looking sympathy.) she died in August of 2021 from Covid said her immune system was too weak....what im getting at is. Its amazing how sometimes a game is more than a game....moments sounds and events capture moments in time in your mind and every time i play ff7 or some of the others it unlocks these blissful recollections of memories that are so vivid you can almost smell the cooking downstairs lol . I really appreciate the final fantasy series and for having experienced them as a child were characters inspired you taught you not to give up etc etc.....its just crazy how games, music or movies etc can have that impact on us.....though I'm glad it does.
It has a similar effect on me too. My childhood wasn't the best and I used to escape from stuff in video games. Final Fantasy 7, 8 and 9 were my escapes from what was a shitty family life. Over time it's deteriorated even more and even though I don't get along with them anymore those games reminds me of the times when things were OK. Things like you say the smell of dinner being made or me trying to sneak and play this game at night and my mum coming into to see if I'm asleep (I used to stick blue tack on the ps1 light to make it look like it wasn't on (my mum cottoned onto this one night and turned it off whilst I was grinding 🤣🤣🤣)) this Remake made me think of all those times again and it's sad because they were simpler times and I miss them somewhat

this game makes me so nostalgic, and the music plays a big part in that. may i mention, as well, that FFVIIRI was my first final fantasy game, i knew nothing of the series beforehand, not one thing. and yet, even though my first foray into the series was back in July this year, it's just so damn nostalgia-instilling.

I have to say, I've always regarded Uematsu as the greatest video game composer. I was also afraid they would ruin the music of ff7 in the remake. I don't know how Suzuki did it, but this song not only felt like it already existed in the original (I could have sworn I already knew it) but it made me extremely emotional. I can hardly wait to see and hear part 2!

@@FFKupoNut I'm not sure exactly 🤔 Hollow Skies also sounded like it always belonged, but it was done by Uematsu. Maybe Suzuki, working with Uematsu, was able to draw some inspiration? You're probably also right about using similar sounds and processes as well. I was pretty happy with the Wal Street theme being re-adapted to the journey there. It confused me though lol until I heard the brand new Wal Street song start up. I was soooo happy to hear Under the Rotten Pizza, and that they didn't mess with it too much. I still love the original though. It'll be fun to hear what they do in Cosmo Canyon, Wutai, the Northern Crater, etc. as the journey continues!

This part was my favourite part of the game for a few reasons. First of all right at the start when you have the options to buy flowers from Aerith & there’s a brief interchange between the two. It sets the viewer up even as a new player to think that there’s something between these two characters. Then as the player progresses & saves Aerith in the church and helps her navigate back to her home, you learn that Cloud actually cares about her more than he’s letting on. Then shortly before this scene when Cloud learns of Aeriths abilities & why she’s so important to Shinra. He knows that if they hang around together then they’ll always be hunted - he cares enough that he leaves in the middle of the night just to protect her from would be pursuers. Only to be confronted here by Aerith showing that she isn’t gonna let him walk out of her life just yet. Then the music hits, it’s nighttime, it’s dark, almost like anything is possible again.
I hope Square realise what the fan base wants with this story.

Not only that but you will also soon realise that the Whispers are fans like you, wanting everything to be the same. I personally think that the creators regret making Aerith die, hence why Red XIII calls it a bad Future, if they failed the fight with the arbiter. Majory want another outcome, it s what everyone deserves.

Awesome OST in my opinion :) this Sound hits me every time i play it, chapter 9 is my Favorit Chapter so far! But the Sound remind me ah little bit of FFX Macalania Woods 🤔 that OST was also great :)

The style and tone just _oozes_ XIII’s overall aesthetic, but the music comes from a remake of Final Fantasy VII.

I went through a really harsh moment in my life, played FF VII remake, hoping to feel joy with Uematsu's soundtrack. I had really good moments playing this game with my sons and then this tune hit me really hard. Not an Uematsu's production, but the calm, the softness etc... in this song, the moment in the game... My first FF game i´ve touched. Buyed it because i knowed that i would like it. After the first hours i realized this game is amazing. By playing and after that scene...i´ve realized that this is something REALLY REALLY SPECIAL. The develepors fueld this game with all their passion, you can feel it. @@FFKupoNut my first touch witch FF was years ago and i saw the waterball-game cutscene of FF X and i was alyways amazed by this world and art-design. But i was "afraid" of JRPG´s. Soo..I guess i will try FF X ;)

One of the few games I've played where I remember EVERY track. The only others I can think of are Donkey Kong Country, Banjo-Kazooie, Undertale, and Bloodorne.

Every film mentioned except Blade Runner were period pieces set before computers were a thing, yet his scores were mainly composed electronically with synthesizers, and it worked well in their respective films.
I can definitely see this one track being Vangelis-inspired, or something he would have likely composed himself, given that Blade Runner was popular in Japan for a time, and he composed the score for a Japanese film called Antarctica. God bless that man's soul.
