Hanoi, Vietnam restaurants and hotels offer the visitor a nice choice in price and quality. We walk through some small alleys lined with street markets and visit a budget hotel and the Hanoi Opera Hilton, a deluxe hotel you can enjoy at a reasonable price.

Hanoi, my wife and I visited several times since 2002,Flying Air Vietnam, Hanoi is an amazing and very historical city. Far nicer than Ho Chee Min (Saigon) down south. The hotels we stayed were priced from as little as $10 US a nite to $60 Dollars a nite US. The Last one we stayed was the Galaxy, very helpful friendly staff, we stayed there for four weeks. Wonderful Breakfasts too.
The Alley ways were best, absolutely everything imaginable is sold there, we watched a furniture shop where craftsman were actually making furniture by hand, wonderful craftsmanship too. The French restaurant we tried was excellent. We found the people were very willing to talk and show us areas, down by riverside was especially interesting, I have only ONE complaint about Holidays in Vietnam. The ARMY staff who were operating Immigration at the airport were ferociouis, non smilling, and quite different to the wonderful people outside the airport.We were cheated at ONE Hotel, called The Green Bamboo where the price quoted changed over nite and the Owner was simply a crook, Hang Ga street Green Bamboo if I recall, keep away from that place. Denis you always make my feet itchy for another trip to Asia! Fantastic video my friend. I've just returned from mainland china and Hong Kong only a few weeks ago and already I miss the people, the aromas and culture of Asia. Thanks for another great video.

Excellent detailed info, there is literally an entire world within one little alley/street in most of Vietnam which can get overlook for the typical tourist trap.
I was there in August 2018 .. Fantastic time, stayed in the old quarter. Wonderful city! Beautiful people... It was an experience. Thanks for the upload. :-)

@@jopisinaga5488 -We were in the Old Town. A short walk from: 'Ho Hoan Kiem' lake. We stayed in some lovely 'Air BnB' rooms called 'Lamy House' for a week, above a wedding shop called 'Lamy Design' .

I really liked the part about the hotel in the small alley.

seeing the rooms that Hilton hotel looks completely tired and worn out !!!!...if you want a nice 5 stars hotel in Hanoi and a travel to the past, you should try the sofitel legend metropole hotel in the old quarter: it was build more than 100 years ago and has the colonial atmosphere and French architecture. There are lots of nice videos about that hotel in youtube, so you can see the differences with that tired Hilton :)
