Boxing and NFL fan here. This man is the main reason millions of new fans, including myself now tune into MLB.
It will help you in the future to know that he is also a pitcher and that he is currently in rehab.
Welcome man
The only reason
Oh man you just reminded me I was feeling like watching a bit of boxing earlier.
MMA>Boxing
This also justifies his contract cause he brings the dodgers so much $$
I’m and Australian cricket fan. Every day when I log on to TH-cam, this guy ALWAYS shows up. How good and INSANE is this guy.
Very.
@@bmac4
Definitely
He’s the GOAT
I’ve been a astros fan all my life and I don’t think I’ve ever seen a home run go to that spot what a beast .
私もアストロズファンです。監督も選手も素晴らしい。
Neither have I
And yet somehow they say it only travelled 443 ft
Bonds hit one pretty close for number 70 I think.
@@rsuriyop Maybe it's because of the trajectory, because if it kept going beyond where it hit that ball would have traveled a lot farther than the Statcast distance given.
Im not American, love soccer but i will not miss Ohtani highlights.. Its such a joy my fav part is all the smiles at bench..
Same
Good
I was there in the second deck. It went over our heads and land landed in between the 2nd and 3rd deck. A massive shot!. There was over 47k people there and it seemed like a third were dodgers fans. Truly a great game to witness live!
i was at the game too lmao i already knew shohei was gonna hit a home run this game
So you can verify then that it was actually more than 443 ft?
@@rsuriyop IMO most definitely
Did a fan get it or did it land in an area inaccessible to fans?
this 3 game set felt like the 17 ws for sure
That sound is so pure 😍
That sound does “hit different” for real. Amazing that Every clip Of him making HR at away games, The crowds still cheering for him, even if they ain’t Dodgers fans. Future HoF in the Making.
Shohei Ohtani does it AGAIN! This man is a blessing in our eyes and in MLB history. 💯
Just got back from my first trip to Japan and this dudes a god over there. Never watched baseball in my life but experienced a game at the Tokyo dome. Great sport, if you ever get a chance, get to Japan and experience it there. Love from an Aussie 🇦🇺
Gotta love the respect from the opposing crowd.
There's just a lot of dodger fans there too that were cheering. P sure astros fans werent too happy about that HR XD
dodgers and Astros fans were respecting Ohtani
People are just witnessing greatness, back in the day when Mark McGire and Sammy Sosa were competiting for most homerunes in the season, he came to Montreal to play against the Expos, I'm cheering for my home team but when Mark hit the 2nd ball and the way it travelled and everybody immediately knew it was a goner, we all stood up in awe and applauded.
Dodger fan Base is insane. They’re everywhere
His homerun is art.
What's crazy is Judge is 3" taller and 70 lbs bigger than Ohtani but if you look at the longest home runs this season Ohtani hit 2 of the top 3. Judge is tied for the 3rd longest.
Amazing how much power Ohtani has and his fine swing mechanics.
443?! That’s gotta be like 480 at least
Someone need to check stat cast because that looks way too far
@@suika197That's what I'm saying
118.7MPH
29°
443FT
Amazing!
thank you.
only 29°? 0:52 I thought it was about 45°
@@yuumetal2363 1:21 shows all it
@@ilyJeffreyy yes. the measuring device is correct. But it looks like it's about 45 degrees to me.
@@yuumetal2363 using a baseball simulator if we believe the exit velocity of 119 mph, 443 feet is way too short for a 29 degree launch angle. If the distance is correct the launch angle would need to be 36 or 37 degrees, which seems more plausible based on the ball going high out of the frame.
That has to be more than 443 ft.
He's an incredibly awesome pitcher.
Shohei Ohtani is so underrated. I think he deserves more
recognition from around the world.
Yeah, no one has heard of him in Japan, Korea, Canada, Mexico, South America and other places. That's a joke. Even the penguins in Antarctica have been chattering about Ohtani.
He is not underrated; people do not rate him high because he's Japanese and new to the MLB. Look at his record here and there and ask which part is less than par?
Baseball isn't common in many areas of the world
He's actually overrated.
“So underrated” He so underrated he got paid 1 billion 🙄
It doesn't matter if the team wins or loses. The day I see Ohtani hit a home run is a victory. GOAT
""I can't even see it but I heard it!" Iconic call from Joe Davis! Ohtani is literally a demi-god sent to planet earth to play baseball for us mortals. So fun to watch him
Two home runs out of the park this week! This guy is a monster!
that's not 440 feet. that's easily 480-500 feet projected final distance. That ball got to back of second deck in 2 seconds and was still climbing
True. That's a good example of how the Statcast distance calculation fail in evaluating a hit like that.
that sound will be legend
It just sounds different 🐐🐐
Great call “I CAN’T EVEN SEE IT BUT I HEARD IT”🔥🔥🔥
instant classic
The catcher and everyone of the defensive player know the ball was gone. They just stand there and enjoy watching the ball fly to the upper decks.
We had Michael Jordan in basketball, Tiger Woods in Golf, Wayne Gretzky in Ice hockey, Mark Spitz in swimming, Tom Brady in American Football, Pele in Soccer and now Ohtani in Baseball
You could add Mike Tyson in boxing
Don't forget: he is also a pitcher.
I've never seen a ball hit that far at Minute Maid Park. Amazing!!!
this reminds me of when yordan went deep in the alds vs mariners... this shot made that one look cheap.
@@20minutes14lol made it look cheap? A 450 hr to win the World Series and a a regular season home run in a game they didn’t win. Yeah good one, shohei will never be a better hitter than Yordan. Nice try though
@@javiersalazar713 lol ohtanis been a better hitter for the past 2 seasons

Beautiful SOUND!! IT is his bat swing to shoot a ball so high, so fast, and so far. The speed is different, snd the sound is different, all indicating his otherworldly ability to adjust his swing to perfection!!!
The 443 feet has to be an error. That ball landed so in the upper 2nd deck and was coming in hot. Stat cast had to have made an error. That ball went probably 470-490 feet easy.
Minute Maid right field is not that deep😂 the glaze is crazy
It could be the distance to the stand it landed in; that is if it wasn’t obstructed it would have travelled another 30+ feet especially since it was a 29 degree exit angle and no moon ball.
@@Squashed8Ball I think stat cast estimates the distance to where it would have landed if it hit at ground level. It’s pretty obvious they messed up the distance. With the exit velocity and launch angle it was at least 470+
@@jadonnoble5621wouldn't there be external factors? like wind, altitude, etc.
@@jurinaissance yes but look at where it landed. It’s obvious it was much farther than 443
That has to be a 500+ bomb, I’ve never seen a ball hit there.
@veryslyfox he's definitely hit some VERY close to over 500 though, there's NO telling how far his ball went that went through the tokyo dome.
@veryslyfoxWhat does a few in history have to do with how far this ball went? There's never been a player like Ohtani in history so that's a moot point.
@@buddyboye4203 some people can't bare with the new hero
I don’t know if this one is 500+homer but can’t be 443ft for sure.
@veryslyfox dude it got to upper 2nd deck/above 2nd deck in 2 seconds. That ball would not have come down any time soon. If it was hit in san francisco stadium for example, it would have been a mile into the water
thats my goat☝️
MVP! MVP!
Gotta say. This guy is taking MLB to another level.
Ohtani launches rocket in Houston.
With that exit velocity and angle, that had to be 470ft or more
The King of Baseball Ohtani!
Word has it that the Johnson Space Center has made contact with Ohtani's home run ball. It's currently 258 miles above Earth and cruising at an orbital speed of 17,157 mph.
what a sweet swing this player has and power omg
It was at least 470ft
@officalreduxonly 😭
Yeah someone need to check stat cast because that looks way too far
@officalredux Only by the questionable Statcast estimate of distance. Hit at 118.7 mph and it probably could have gone another 200 ft.
He hit it to the Nabor sign. Another monster home run for Shohei #32.

@gmr7494 I'm a baseball fan. One person doesn't win championships irregardless of their WAR. With the gambling drama, I still enjoy Ohtani, even if he's a DH now.
Ohtani's bat sound is so unique to him its crazy.
It's always a great day when Othani and Judge homer!!!
2nd Hardest ball hit of the season on a great launch angle and it only went 443'? That was at least 500'

Ohtani also stole his pb tying 26th SB and its still July. He could very well be the first player in history with 50 hrs and 40 sb - plus have 100 xbh and 400 total bases - unreal for an injured pitcher
One of the longest homers ive seen all season and only 443 ft??

Shoheeeeeiiiiiiii ...love u❤
Love watching the Ohtani & Judge highlights. How many times have they hit a homerun in the same night this season? it's just amazing watching these two players. As a remarkable season Ohtani is having, Judge is having possibly the best year in baseball history statistically.
Judge is great, but unless he hits at least 80 home runs in a season or pitches with an ERA of 3 or less, his value as a player will not be as great as Ohtani's.
@@i10475Ohtani Is NOT pitching this Year

That looked a lot further than 443ft
It was probably 443ft to that point in the stadium where they think it landed..... either that or they didn't pick it up properly and just guessed 🤣🤣
He hit it into upper deck bathroom probably
Alvarez hit the scoreboard in batting practice a couple years ago and they only estimated it at 430ish. Same with his 3rd deck shot down the right line.
It looks like awesome but from the end of the bullpen to the pole rarely sees over 440ft on statcast.
@@Truckerdaddy that ball was nowhere near done moving. Maybe it's 440 feet where it landed but it had another 50-100 feet of climb to go
@@daveavemian5940 I watched a highlight video of Ohtani's homer it reached it apex just as it crossed the stairs. So no more climb to his homer.
If you were to draw a straight line on the ground from the plate to where it landed, it's not even 400ft. It crossed the outfield wall that sits about 350ft from the plate give or take.
Then where it hit is between 60 and 70ft in the air I'm guessing.
440ft does seem a little short, but 470-480 doesn't seem right either.
What a shot!
He is the Godzilla of Baseball!
No doubt Legend of baseball history!
First they said (Americans), that Japanese couldn't play in the MLB. Then they said only pitchers could play. Then they said they couldn't hit for power. Now they can only hate on Ohtani.
