1. original saffron tastes little bitter in taste when u keep on tongue whereas duplicate one gives sweet taste.
2. As video shown, original one releases colour slowly and duplicate one gives on immediate
3.original one have trumpet shape and duplicate one majorly linear thread like shape, because these duplicate once r made up of corn threads. However to cheat, some percentage of trumpet shaped original petals may mix with duplicate once..

Thank you for this informative video - I've watched a few other videos on this subject, but with yours I 'got it' right away. I am now confident that I can tell if my saffron is real or not (it is also useful to have a suggested brand of authentic saffron, instead of the 'hit-and-miss' commercial market). If I may make a suggestion; I found the music volume distracting, I might have enjoyed it if the current volume setting was cut in half. My intent is to be helpful (I have PTSD, a medical condition that sometimes makes noises or loud volume painful), I like your video very much, my best to you.

@@justice8453 The quality of Saffron is dictated by its lab analysis, not origin. Quality is measured by its levels of Crocin (Color), Safranal (Aroma), and Picocrocin (Flavor), additional factors which effect the quality of Saffron are moisture and or/ use of fillers.

Real saffron is trumpet-shaped and will release a golden yellow color slowly in water. Fake saffron might not be trumpet-shaped or will release a yellow color immediately in water. Also real saffron will maintain its red color and never fade.

My yellow rice tastes great and i use turmeric and some yellow food coloring and people cant get enough of it , just saying.
Dina Kay turmeric is another great and healthy option. The fragrance of Saffron is much different though, it’s aroma can’t really be compared to anything else.

Unadulterated saffron will take it's time to turn yellow or gold and the stems are trumpet shaped, a deep red color. If the color of the tea turns yellow immediately, the saffron stem turns white or is easily crumpled in your hand, it's not good. Real saffron will remain a golden hue and often counterfeits will turn a dark orange or red color after a period of time. Hope this helped

Saffron is not equal in quality, there are 4 different trim levels and quality can be much inferior or superior.
For example, the three elements that make a quality saffron are Crocin (Color) , Safranal (Aroma) and Picocrocin (Flavor). These ranges in quality can be drastic, almost twice as potent in some cases.
So it’s important to also analyze the lab analysis if you’re ordering in large quantities or dealing with a vendor you have not purchased from before.
