    It’s honestly so eerie driving through that area. The atmosphere changes when you drive through the outskirts and you just get the sense that it’s not a good place. Stop Six is the only area in Fort Worth where there aren’t homes for sale right now, if that tells you how bad it is. And it’s so crazy because there’s only a sketchy little bridge that separates the rival gangs areas. Not a good place to be overall and I don’t encourage people to just casually drive around.

    All joking aside though, I grew up in the Cuban Miami ghetto of Little Habana and I busted my back working hard to get me, my mom and my kids out of there. I loved my hood peeps but I knew I didn't want that for my kids. I'm in Ft Worth now since 1998, still working hard to always do better. My Miami hood friends were mostly LK's and they're mostly in prison, dead, maimed, and living on welfare and food stamps. These guys can do so much better. It's really sad. Praying for a miraculous change in their lives.

    I see a lot of young men who are capable of pursuing a better life or have the talent to become someone great. The biggest issue in these types of communities (Hood/projects) is the lack of having a *strong father figure* in the household. And this has to do with the Government housing (Section 8) qualifications - *single parent (female) only.* It gives a woman the idea to rely solely on the Government without the need of a man/father to provide. That's a major issue under the radar. Men are providers/teachers with a masculine approach but women are affectionate/caring with emotions - a balanced relationship.
    That also explains why the males in these communities have an emotional/materialistic mindset - they're raised by a single-parent female. I too grew up in a single-parent household raised by my mom but as I got older and living on my own I understood/recognize the results of it.
    In my honest opinion, the housing organization should change the qualifications and promote the idea of having both parents but also keeping drugs out. I pray these young men will pursue a better life and become great fathers/role models to their kids in the future.

      For sure the government programs incentivize these results, but they aren't mandated and forced. It's still the peoples responsibility to be bigger than the programs and make better decisions. Most people are stupid though.

    • @hustlehard.8522
      @hustlehard.8522 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@thumpchump8144 They know it's not forced but the idea of having to pay only 15% of your monthly income towards rent is attractive (Section 8). So I'm not surprise a woman will choose Government over a father raising their kids. This has been an on-going decision for three generations since the New Deal was created by FDR - 1933. Since then it has devastated a lot of black families who are reliant on Government. Drugs/alcohol escalated the issue further...
