ABOUT NEW AMSTERDAM
In the wake of the ambulance crash that ended Season 1, medical director Dr. Max Goodwin grieves the death of his wife, Georgia, and learns the difficulties of being a single parent - all the while continuing his commitment to solve systemic health care issues at the hospital. Add in his new responsibilities as a father and with cancer still lingering in the rearview mirror, everyone around Max must wonder how long he can sustain this impossible load. But "How can I help?" is not just Max's catchphrase, it's his reason for living. As long as he's helping others, Max is able to find hope in the most hopeless of places. If Max can have a friend so can Helen. Hopefully in season 3/4 they will act on their feelings and confess. Max and Helen doesn’t need to be together until he’s grieved. Helen deserves all of Max not just a piece.

Kenosha Yes Max needs to fight for her cause she has had his back so many times and helped him out in more ways than one those looks he gives to Helen are to die for they make a gorgeous couple Max is hard headed stubborn and sometimes goes over board but he is a good man good dad and he needs to be happy and Sharpe is just the right person for him she keeps him grounded and she doesn't take anything from him she stands her ground with him she is his rock he depends oh her he comes to her office and bounces his idea's off her and value her opinions he listens to her. As expected. Sharpe deserves to be happy. I'm glad they are not making her wait on the side lines. I'm just worried they'll make us love Shin too much. Uuuurrrrgh. Cause he is fiiiiine. As for Max and Alice, meh. They should have met later. But I'm not sad that's over... let Max grieve, heal and hopefully eventually get to a point where he is 100% sure he wants to be with someone. But then what's going to happen when that time comes? Will Helen be single? Why can't writers shock us and actually write an amazing script where the leads are actually together for more than half of the show. What's wrong with giving the leads a healthy relationship and still not losing the audience?
I agree with you once they leave work what they do after is their own business they can work at the hospital and take of the patients and go home have dinner talk about their day and Luna read to her and feed her and spend quality time it can work writers you need to get it together Max lead actor and Helen his co worker they work close together they have that bond chemistry is off the chain the looks are to die for at least in the next season two season I hope that you guys realize that you love each other
She does deserve to be happy and I agree; she shouldn't have to wait on the side. Especially when she's wanting to conceive a child. Max need to grieve and heal before he can commit himself to any kind of productive relationship

I really didnt appreciate how the writers unceremoniously wrote off Panthaki without a fight....let's hope this will make a nice emotional triangle for Season 3. 😊

They need to keep showing they chemistry. This is what makes this show. Season 3 needs a kiss. Season 4 needs denial. Season 5 a date. Because if it doesn't get renewed, we can think everything is fine. If season 6, dating. Season 7 love from the sign of the past. Season 8 1 kid and 1 more. Season 9 wedding. Season 10 they win vs u.s government and Medicare for all and a better system.

Bro, I like how Sharpe told her patient's caregiver about taking care of himself. The wording shows exactly how Sharpe feels about Max and how she sees that its not healthy to just give her all to him for so long without thinking about what she needs. But they also made sure to say that it wouldn't be for too long, she just needs a "break". I love how they just gave all of that in one conversation. So I'm happy Sharpe found someone new ( I don't like shin because of what he did to shawn in the good doctor lol but he's a cool guy) and it will ease her burden.

I love that Sharp has a possible love interest apart from Max...I mean why wouldn't she??? I am glad she's not waiting hopelessly while Max gets over his grief. I think Cassian Shin is in the right place at the right time. He's funny, smart, FINE, everything she needs right now. Getting tired of watching her puppy dog eyes and forlorn looks when she's around Max. It's one sided and she deserves more than that!

@@positivity699 Max and Helen fell in love with each other in Season 1, soon after they met. In the conference room, Max told Karen that when he looks inside [of himself, presumably] Georgia isn't there. Remember in the locker room when Floyd told Max that the reason why he continued to wear his wedding ring after his marriage was over was not because he was still in love. Floyd said it was because of the guilt he was feeling. This is about guilt. Max has to get over the guilt he feels about falling in love with Helen while Georgia was alive.
They aren't ready to be together. Can't wait until they are though.

I have a feeling the writers will put a flashback scene in season 3 of Max on his way to see Alice & that's when he see Helen & Shin. Well that's what I'm hoping they'll do 😂.
Also for those who keep saying their not happy with the ending, come on! They've already stated that because of the virus, they had to suddenly cut the season from 22 episode to 18. Episode 18 was already filmed & they clearly didn't want to risk their lives by going back on set to change the ending, so please be more understanding :)
A kiss between Max and Helen given the depth of their chemistry should have happened by now. The kiss if nothing else would at least acknowledge that they love each other. We know that they are not ready to be a couple. Hopefully in season 3 Max will let Helen in to help him with his grief while they continue to grow closer..
Next season it will be about Sharpe and Max...there’s always a wrench thrown in a love story!

Personally, I think this will make Max work through his grief and issues faster. Plus the bad pancake theory, the rebound after a great love 90% chance get burned. Max needs to be in the right headspace for Sharpe. Plus, I was hoping for Max to see Sharpe and Dr. Shin (for him to realize that a RARE woman like Sharpe isn’t going to wait forever). Sharpe shouldn’t have to be in the “single-hood nunnery” waiting for Max. They will get together. Plus, I’d like to see Max pursue Sharpe for a change. I ship #Sharpwin. However, Sharpe doesn’t deserve to be his burned rebound. So if she wants to date Shin, I’m okay with that as a temporary dating situation. I’m waiting patiently for the ring removal/ Sharpwin finally happens scene...
This medical drama had it all greatest cast stories that you could not get enough of an hour that went way to fast we certainly miss them
i would like alice to stay a little longer, and max to see sharpe with the new doctor. Then he would feel jealous and Alice would notice and end him by encouraging him to fight for sharpe. Sharpewin forever
Max is starting to worry me, he's willing to pretend to be a family with someone he doesn't really know. Helen is right there , she's not the one who's running from reality, maybe her moving on will get Max's attention. I said earlier that Max was going to fool around and miss his opportunity with Helen and frankly I can't blame her for not wanting to keep hoping that Max "MIGHT" come around to realizing that he's in love with her, come on Max get your junk together.
I think that’s why this ended. He says in this scene that he likes pretending he’s not still grieving, whereas when you see it getting real with sharpe he plays with his wedding ring. It will happen when he’s grieved

Why people with good chemistry always been killed off or forcing other relations. Yes 3 more seasons, hope they end up together. SEEMS OLITZ was the best couple on TV. Real chemistry many issue ,but always returned to their forbidden love.
Rossana Glasgow ikr just like Melendaire crashed and burned so mad about that one not watching that show maybe when it ends so I can fast forward through it. But I’m hoping the NA writers are better and not senseless.

Love this show! Yes, they need to move on because Max is too needy from all the painful baggage he’s carrying and Helen is not his caregiver. The new doctor is a great match for her and after Max gets EMDR sessions to clear up his cobwebs the door will open wide for him to find true love again. I believe the show has a responsibility to incorporate EMDR in order to show people how and why this method of peeling away the layers of trauma really helps people!
The Sharpwin chemistry is just so undeniable and a joy to watch ! But Dr. Shin is hot as hell ! But girlfriend can't wait forever so let her enjoy this time ! Can't wait for Max to found out about them ! ❤😷😷😷😷😷😷😷😷😷😷😷😷😷😷

After Dr Melendez died on the good doctor I have stopped shipping people.. I really wanted Clair to be with Melendez. So I'm not shipping Max with Helen.. or Austin with Mina on The Resident...or Mac and Riley on the MacGyver....I ship no one 😂😭 I can't go through that pain again...

No matter who is endgame I hope that Alice will stay on the show as Max’s friend. Too many shows wrote off the replacement love interest as soon as they break up (grants they break up because they’re being written off but still) they have such chemistry and I don’t want to lose that even if it’s just platonic

This is why shows get cancelled. It is fine to drag something out but if you engage in silly plot points to drag out something by the time you get back to it nobody cares anymore and people stop watching and shows get cancelled. If you plan on dragging out Sharpwin thats no excuse to forgo the entertainment value of Helen and new doc. Tell a good story in the mean time and this Helen/New doc insta coupling is NOT a good story in the interim. The new doc character is interesting spend the time developing the character in its own right not just someone for Helen to be dating already because he is the opposite of Max. This ia too good an actor to waste on this nonsense. Yes Im intrigued by him and helen but develop the story
Well said. Like Panthaki was a great Doctor and nice side interest...but they unceremoniously wrote him off. Maybe they made him jealous too quickly. But Boy! Wasnt he easy on the eye...and with beautiful genuine smile. And a smart Doctor too. Was sad he left and left for good.

She might start to feel she's missing out on a real life, she seemed to like Shin's way of thinking. Max is so involved, he doesn't even realized his own staff is dealing with problems. Why!?!? I’d definitely rather see Max and Alice together, really tired of shows forcing characters together. The whole Max and Sharpe kinda love each other but the relationship doesn’t really work, dynamic is one of the things that makes the show good.

I think Max cares about Helen not because he loves her, but because he has the same ultimate goal of caring for patients and working as a person who does the same thing, so he trusts and relies on Helen. I want Max and Alice to meet again.
And I hope Helen meets a good person, too.
Alice wasn't a big part of the drama, but I think Max definitely helped her. Each other's meeting was just a bit faster, but Max also likes Alice. Even if we broke up now, does what Alice said at the end of Season 2 mean that Max and Alice might meet again in Season 3? I hope so ~ ♡

@@marnecassell4430 There isn't anything there-and I mean ZERO. Max never had any real interest in Alice. Alice initiated that relationship and pursued Max, which is never good. She even kissed him first. Then, she climbed on top of him the next morning. Few men would say "No" to an overt sexual invitation like that. Finally, there is nothing interesting about Alice. She is just your every-day, run-of-the-mill chick. There is absolutely nothing about Alice that would capture the interest of a man like Max. Alice was the rebound character that the script writers needed. That's why Max delicately eased his way out of the relationship in Washington Square Park while they were out walking. He clearly didn't even want to be there with her, or didn't you notice that.
