I used to watch MIM consistently, but I began to feel that all of her videos were becoming nothing but sponsorship/cash grabs. She doesn’t feel authentic anymore and her videos have become so out of touch and just bragging about how much money she has. I lost all respect for her after the last Cosette scandal and the fact that she then did another video with them. And now the defeating silence from her…as well as, just deleting the videos??? Is that supposed to be her acknowledgment that she knows there is some shady dealings happening? Because her not addressing this seems like she’s hoping we will all just forget her collab? No, girl, you make your living off these deals collabs and “selling,” these products to your viewers. MIM, stand up, speak up and show some humanity, the more time that passes the more you’re looking like an enabler.
I remember one of her videos when she bought an LV monogram sweater for her husband, knowing full well he will not wear it because he doesn't like logos. She was pushing this sweater on this poor man, like what? 🙄
I commented 4 days ago on Mel in Melbourne's last instagram post asking if she will address the issue with Cosette. She has not replied. I'm also surprised to see no one else is asking her about this in the comment section.
Honestly, I don't get all this obsession with the codes... Just buy straight from the boutique or an authorized retailer and you won't have all this headache!
even the 'authorised' retailer is selling fakes 😂 so the only real deal is on boutiques. that's why like dacob said, these things cost a lot of money. not something you buy weekly. it just insane
@@ryeofoatmeal Retailer stores like Saks Fifth Avenue are still more reliable, but you're right about the boutiques. That's where I buy 99% of all of my lux bags.
@@oldpalmcityI agree!! I have recently read how returns of fakes were sent back to department stores for resale, so you never really know what you’re buying.
I really feel for everyone who bought from Cosette as I had a YSL camera bag in the basket aftet watching Mel but luckily didn't go ahead with the purchase after getting cold feet. Must be so stressful if they're not getting any response or refunds from Cosette. Mel needs to put up a video even if to say the matter is being investigated and she's unable to comment on the matter and to apologise to anyone who purchased a bag from Cosette after watching her video.
On Monday 7 August, I travelled a 5 hour round trip today to take my fake Gucci Marmont bag into Cosette. I had been emailing them prior for a return and didn’t hear from them for 10 days. There was no line up and the store was empty! However there were online orders on the floor ready to be shipped 😢 The girl behind the counter asked if I had reauthenticated and did I have a certificate to show her. I advised I had 3 of them. When I showed her she said yes that is proof it’s not real! This I believe is the first admission of guilt! I filmed my entry to the store and was told to turn off my camera 🤣 my phone rang while I was in there and I was asked not to answer. They advised my refund might take 48 hours as they are catching up on refunds from the weekend. They also reimbursed for the authentication I had done. Process took approximately 10 minutes. On Tuesday 8 August at 11:27am a remittance advice was sent through for the refund. At 3:43pm I had the refund in my bank.
I am so glad you got a full refund plus authentication expenses refunded 💖 but I am so sorry you had to travel all that way t get your money back and had to go through all that stress 😞💖
Hi! I have the same bag, purchased on YSL, and zipper has discolored to kind of silver quiet fast, so it is something to consider. It is important for those viewers that bought their bag preloved and might think their bag is fake due to this. I always say to my viewers it is important to analyze all the details all together.
1 more thing I recalled. I have 2 Hermes bag, purchased from Hermes boutique, had 3, but sold third one, and once I had a look on the bottom of the locks, they all had differences, in a way each 2 of them had 1 detail the same, but another one different (I am talking about engravings). That makes me think the play with this depending on the year of production, against fake producers. On top of that it is more and more difficult to consider certain quality standard things as features of authentic bags, because now brands mess up with quality- stitching, glazing, leather, zippers, craftsmanship.
YSL does NOT make their classic style bags for the outlets. They may sell discontinued styles or seasonal colors but there are no classics made specifically for the outlets.
Same old same old with MiM 🤨.......none of the big YT'rs/influencers care about their subbies, only their wallets. They are all fake as hell. It's a shame!!!!!! Great video , again Dacob 💕
Hi Dacob, A Current Affair has released another piece on Cosette's co-founder and his dodgy past. Allegedly, custom officers have seized Cosette 's latest imported goods and Border Force is investigating so it'll be interesting to see if their verdict is fake or real.
Love the video Dacob ! :) I would personally really consider the date of production as well, because certain batches really have significant differences. I was one of the first to buy the YSL camera models (I bought mine in the Paris flagship-store around 2016). My bag didn't even have leather piping around the edges😅. They added the piping a few seasons later... So this bag nowadays would really be seen as a fake to some "authenticators". I see there is around a two year difference in production date between both bags, so maybe YSL could have adjusted some elements like the proportions or colour of the model? I know Saint Laurent does that all the time (such as many other brands , but of course you already know this 😅) The year on the serial code does match the year on the card, so that might be a good sign I guess ? Also fake YSL bags almost always seem to get the 'made in Italy' font wrong, For some reason they prefer to use a bold sans serif style. For the logo, fakes often use a slightly elongated 'Saint Laurent'. Hope that helps :)
Any news on Gucci belts? I bought from Cosette in Feb and when I googled what to look for in real v fake, it fails on all points. Requested return after my own independent authentication confirmed it is counterfeit but once they received the return, Cosette got an ‘independent’ authentication showing it is authentic. They only supplied 2 photos to the Authenticator. There is no stamping on belt so not sure how they can claim authentic. I’m in Melbourne. Raised case with NSW Fair Trading. Cosette not returning emails.
This story still makes me so mad! Cosette was in the Rocks, Sydney which is a very fancy and beautiful area in the city and for them to be selling so many fakes (allegedly) I just feel for everyone who was scammed by this wolf in sheep clothing store
A lady just got arrested not too long ago in her boutique for selling fake Louis Vuitto Chanel Gucci coach with over 40 million dollars worth of stuff.😂 they took 18 months but they got her

But they sell new merchandise. I buy most of my luxury goods from Harrods (department store in London) nothing comes with a “certificate of authenticity”- it just comes with whatever original packaging the brand is providing. It’s kind of weird- if they are an official YSL retailer why would they need to prove to you that what you are getting is real?!? It looks like a red flag from the get-go. Like somebody at some point questioned them (rightfully so) and now they are like - hey hey it’s real, we have a certificate, look at it, look at it 😅 I really hope everyone gets their money back as I don’t think they sold anything authentic tbh (my opinion, allegedly 😅). They maybe sent the influencers who were promoting them a real thing, everything else was counterfeit (my opinion, allegedly 😅). Hope authorities finally intervene too! It’s disgusting to think we as consumers have zero rights or protection 🙁
Also this is the comparison of two bags. Two authentic bags can be different. It would have been more reliable, if the store manager would have brought two authentic bags to make the comparison among the three.
The ysl.bag number one that you're showing that you like could it have been made in the factory. I would love to see the tags on the inside of the bag I want to know if it has the letter F anywhere and the stamp. Which means factory-made lower-grade. Macy's will have the letter m Nordstrom's will have the letter n this is how they protect themselves so they don't get sued so yeah it could be a real bad depending on where it's made and what letter is in your bag from what I read if you don't have a letter in your bag then you know it's fake.
