He played a lot better than I would expect from a silver, especially using cover, but at the same time he only played those low skill floor heroes. I wouldnt say he deserves diamond with those mechanics, but definitely higher than silver based off those 2 games
True, i think the only character he played exceptionally well was Mei. Those walls were clutch. As soon as he reverted to Torb, he kinda wasted 3-4 turrets and an Ult, missed a lot of shots. Pharah he did well but like Jay said I think he got a few lucky picks, and then Bastion was a last ditch effort at taking point, where he ultimately probably missed the pick on the Echo which would've won the game. Still really good though.
@@TheH3llboy to be fair, turrets are always wasted, unless you find the absolutely perfect god tier spot for them, any plat+ will immediately destroy it before anything else, the turrets just dont have enough HP for something stationary to survive long, their main use is for shooting moths out the sky (mercies)
Overwatch’s new rank system means nothing. It’s not like in other games where your rank and skill level correlate. You can be the best player ever but this garbage rank system will place you bronze 5 and then you win 5 games in a row and it deranks you to aluminum foil 10

Its a case of big brain-low mechanics. He knows how to play, which is easily Gold. If he gets a better mouse and 4k eDPI he might get to plat and hopefully to diamond
Very impressive from a silver DPS player, but I'm not sure he'd be ready for diamond, especially when his teammates aren't all in discord communicating. But if he works on the aim and finds a lower sens that works for him, I think he'll climb quickly.
He needs to be a lil' more aggressive too.. He seems very hesitant to do things, like either finish a kill or follow his team to push into the enemy. He is very much the player I expect to be payload princess half the time. If he gets that confidence and right mindset I'm sure he'll climb as well.

Needs more fundamental mechanics on Mei, they're letting a lot of options get away because they don't understand what her kit enables. They're doing great on defense because the enemy has to walk into them (aka they don't have to be proactive), but on attack they become passive and reactive, play a little too slow, stand in the choke too much, stand far from cover too often, basically relying on the hopes of the enemy simply focusing his allies instead of him. Doesn't have a clear idea of how he can directly enable his team's win condition without closing distances in a silver way -aka press w in a straight line towards them, instead of trying to off angle and cut off their rotation paths preemptively. Definitely seems solid on silver, but what happens when they play with a team that doesn't comm? When their tank and supports go two opposite directions? When the enemy has range or Pharah etc that can easily pressure him out? What happens when he has to be his own difference maker and can't rely on follow-up or team cohesion? That is where you prove whether you belong in a higher rank or not. By grinding through the mud, to prove you can still function in muddy situations in the higher rank and not just fold at the face of significant pressure (which will come 50% of matches by default rng).
It really is crazy a change in mouse sensitivity can do. I was hard stuck silver and then I lowered my sensitivity to less than a third of what it was before. I climbed to plat 2 in 4 rank updates

What I mean is that he's getting value on this matches but he doesn't seem consistent enough, but I think he could be higher than silver

On attack he's pretty much an npc in terms of providing generic value, but not actively seeking openings or contributing on the front line. On Defense the enemy has to come into his space so it's easier to play passive and binary, but on offense you often have to think a bit more out of the box and show a deeper understanding of the complexities of space, value, ability trading etc as you are the one who has to make the moves. I think with a little coaching he could easily hit plat, but it's still some fundamentals that he's lacking that hinders his own agency.

I'm a retired/disabled military veteran myself. I was diagnosed with dual arthritis so I'm unable to play Overwatch on PC anymore. I have to play on PS5. I've played quite a few pc players with my PS5 because my 15 year old daughter is an Overwatch PC player and I team up with her regularly. It's a lot of fun and surprisingly I can hang with the PC players. Due to my anxiety issues, I tend to stay away from competitive mode. I did introduce comp to my daughter and she loves playing support. She's currently climbing out of silver.
This guy played Pharah so close to the ground it took me a long time to realize this was before her rework - back when she could be in the air forever.

Mei, Pharah, Bastion. This guy plays only super easy heroes. Low skill floor, easy to survive especially for Mei. He was the best with Mei, literally the easiest among this characters. Torb is a bit harder than other ones but still super survival char with armor and 250 hp. Some good icicles on Mei, some lucky kills on pharah, very common Torb plays and awful aim on Bastion the only hitscan in his roster. Id say its like team diff at the start. Not very hard one but still diff. He was allowed to play like he played to throw that icicles whenever he want to walk around not being punished because of good tank and 2 healers which werent killed. I might be mistaken, its ok just my opinion
I have never been a huge FPS guy and up until about 3 years ago I was a console only gamer. So when I started playing Overwatch I was running like 1200DPI and about 15% sensitivity. After season 1 I realized my movement and aim was severely lacking. Slowly starting cutting it back. Now I'm at 800DPI and 8% sensitivity and have improved a ton.

ive been hard stuck diamond for a long time, and i can assure you this guy would not cut it, he would be the weak link of the team every game . He plays like a high gold player from what I see.
From what I can see, this guy has decent aim, but is struggling woth the actual understanding of the game. His abillity usage and timing is off, he gets caught out of position alot, etc. I think all he needs to climb is just to play more to learn the game at a higher level and get a tighter hero pool so he can develop his hero mechanics faster. After a hundred or so hours can see this guy easily hitting plat if he continues to play.

100% sensitivity/DPI. Hence him missing close range shots but nailing long range. He’s got better accuracy with long range because of a lower sensitivity but higher miss rate at closer range as those shots require father mouse movements for him than if he was playing with higher sensitivity.
"How is he getting kills... he doesnt move his mouse". Thats called projectile heroes, dont need to aim on them for value. Long range you spam, close ramge your bullet size is so massove that you dont need to be precise
At times though, even if a player does extremely well he can still lose because if your team gets annihilated its already over no matter how well he contributed in a match, that the real truth on overwatch 2, and sone people doesn't acknowledged that for dome reason
this player is good on Mei, but we can really see his positioning problem and ego play sometimes, thinking he can 1v9 while sometimes you have to respect and know what the enemies can do to you. Also it seems like he never farmed and used his ults but his walls are well timed ! But yeah people also commented the sensivity, and they are right 3000%, he was able to do a 360° with a short mouse moove wich can not help for aiming on tiny target so reducing his sensivity was one of the best advices. I agree 100% on how solid can be his Mei, but I'm not sure about other character that are not really able to save themselves and requires more aim (widow, ashe, soj, cass) it would have been better to see what he can do with those character because I don't think Mei, Torb and even Bastion are a good examples imo. He should be higher than silver, well yes and no, his positioning and ego playing (If I had a mercy pocketing me, his positioning on first round on KR etc) showed that it was not the case BUT with some aim training and also swap to counter, I think he can climb ♥
I mean he's not running it down feeding which is like the bare minimum at that level, but he is playing pretty low maintenance dps characters. He's got decent mechanics but pretty inconsistent aim considering he's playing projectiles and he reloads early a lot. It also feels like he doesn't know where he should stand/position himself at times. But overall solid play from a silver who could climb if they clean up certain areas of their game.
It always ticks me off when streamers are so surprised at a person having a sens of 15% when this is literally the default sens, bro is a newer player they don't know about sens or dpi. The overreaction is always dumb, instead of being like "oh you're playing on the default sens you should probably lower that"
@jaywbell4843 just because he got a kill doesn't mean the turret placement was good. That's like saying just because you got a kill your positioning was great. His turrets all got taken out quickly and he usually placed them along the same LOS as himself. Typically you should place them to set up a crossfire with yourself and the turret.
look something i see alot with overwtahc is that players like that seem to have never played another game I'm plat and my mechanical skill carries me I've played for 5 months but it seems like overwatch is a game where these players in gold and under have never played a shooter even a PC game before its unbelivable
I know people wont believe me but... sometimes the mmr system is whack. I went from Plat1 down to Silver4 in like a month and I just don't understand it. Unfortunately my 120hz monitor did die on me and I am playing on a 60hz VGA monitor but it should not be enough to drop me THAT much. I usually double or close to double elims/damage of other players in silver with less deaths but I still lose. I've played multiple games with mmr systems and this is the wildest one I've ever played in, I also got Masters in SC2 so I am definitely familiar with this stuff. There must be something I just don't understand which really is at the core of the issue. Since there's 4 other players sometimes it's hard to discern where you are screwing up. I want to believe it's my fault but at the same time I've never dropped what's equivalent from 2900 MMR down to 1600; it's more than 1300 points. Perhaps a bunch of players dropped so ladder is more challenging? I don't know. This happened 2 months ago and I have not been able to leave silver since.

this player is good on Mei, but we can really see his positioning problem and ego play sometimes, thinking he can 1v9 while sometimes you have to respect and know what the enemies can do to you. Also it seems like he never farmed and used his ults but his walls are well timed !
But yeah people also commented the sensivity, and they are right 3000%, he was able to do a 360° with a short mouse moove wich can not help for aiming on tiny target so reducing his sensivity was one of the best advices.
I agree 100% on how solid can be his Mei, but I'm not sure about other character that are not really able to save themselves and requires more aim (widow, ashe, soj, cass) it would have been better to see what he can do with those character because I don't think Mei, Torb and even Bastion are a good examples imo.
He should be higher than silver, well yes and no, his positioning and ego playing (If I had a mercy pocketing me, his positioning on first round on KR etc) showed that it was not the case BUT with some aim training and also swap to counter, I think he can climb ♥

I mean he's not running it down feeding which is like the bare minimum at that level, but he is playing pretty low maintenance dps characters. He's got decent mechanics but pretty inconsistent aim considering he's playing projectiles and he reloads early a lot. It also feels like he doesn't know where he should stand/position himself at times. But overall solid play from a silver who could climb if they clean up certain areas of their game.

@jaywbell4843 just because he got a kill doesn't mean the turret placement was good. That's like saying just because you got a kill your positioning was great. His turrets all got taken out quickly and he usually placed them along the same LOS as himself. Typically you should place them to set up a crossfire with yourself and the turret.

look something i see alot with overwtahc is that players like that seem to have never played another game I'm plat and my mechanical skill carries me I've played for 5 months but it seems like overwatch is a game where these players in gold and under have never played a shooter even a PC game before its unbelivable

I know people wont believe me but... sometimes the mmr system is whack. I went from Plat1 down to Silver4 in like a month and I just don't understand it. Unfortunately my 120hz monitor did die on me and I am playing on a 60hz VGA monitor but it should not be enough to drop me THAT much. I usually double or close to double elims/damage of other players in silver with less deaths but I still lose. I've played multiple games with mmr systems and this is the wildest one I've ever played in, I also got Masters in SC2 so I am definitely familiar with this stuff. There must be something I just don't understand which really is at the core of the issue. Since there's 4 other players sometimes it's hard to discern where you are screwing up. I want to believe it's my fault but at the same time I've never dropped what's equivalent from 2900 MMR down to 1600; it's more than 1300 points. Perhaps a bunch of players dropped so ladder is more challenging? I don't know. This happened 2 months ago and I have not been able to leave silver since.

Ehhh, I wouldn't put him in diamond. Maybe gold. Considering his aim with 15% sens on what I'd assume is an office mouse (which would most likely mean it runs on 800dpi) he does have decent aim.
