Tommy Houston is a great storyteller and a great personality. I remember watching Hal and Ken Houston racing at Starlite Speedway in Monroe, N.C. back in the mid sixties. Great family.
Very appreciative and humble man. Thank you guys from that Era of Nascar. My dad took me to my first race at Atlanta in 1976. Its personalities like Mr. Houston and others like him that endure me to Nascar. Just seemed like hard working, hard playing good people.
Tommy was always one of my favorites in the late 70’s and 80’s! The cars of that era were so cool! Todays racing is of zero interest to me! Great episode!

Little cars and big tires. Square bodies and sharp edges.

Very glad I heard that last story... Andy never did have the best luck in racing as a driver...
That #42 car is like Hendricks #25. Why it's got no luck, I dont know.
I have a tommy houston roses diecast
To me, the pretties car Tommy ever drove was the 67 Fairlane he drove. Spon. by Carolina Mills.
I wonder what he thinks about the demise of DEI - his niece should have let jr have it
