  • I started a refresh of the Dash and parcel shelf for the Morris Minor, but not only was the correct specification hard to pin down, things don't go to plan!
Paint was supplied by spraydosen-shop.de/ who I recommend if you are looking for an old colour match in a rattle can!
    I used Blmc-Rover Group BLGR 27 Rose Taupe one coat (400ml) (SDS-BLMC-BLGR-27-E).
Please remember, I am not a trained mechanic and what I do may not be the best / correct way but works for me. Videos are made as a guide of how I do / did it rather than a bible for others to follow.
    Thanks for watching.

Best of luck in completing the dash restoration. I have a May 1961 saloon with a very similar dash layout. (Glove compartment doors on each side.)

Thanks Mike. That's the spec I thought mine was supposed to have.

Thanks, it is frustrating to get this far only to start again but might as well aim to get it back as close as possible to the correct spec.

I have a '67 Traveller (here in Massachusetts). I did remove the parcel shelf at one point as it was looking bedraggled. I'm not convinced that new Millboard is the right answer as it doesn't take well to fixing with screws. However, I've seen quite a few instances where the parcel shelf has been recreated in wood (both thin plywood + solid edging), which looks fabulous. So I might go in that direction...

I know you probably have finished this by now, but had you thought of a stained particle board in place of the heater box? A modern particle board would be heat and colour stable to be stained from a light (white) to a close approximation of the colour you are after. I have also Just read (whilst keyboard warring) the comment by Michael Hardiman and agree with him and am looking forward to your parcel shelf solution. Maybe even yoinks it for my Traveller myself...

Hi and thanks for your thoughts and comments. There seem to be various solutions owners have implemented and although my car is far from perfect, I wanted to stick with original materials as much as possible. I ended up with a compromise and have now completed the project. The video is now available to watch if you wish.
