1963 Canon Dial 35 - 35mm Film Camera

The 1963 Canon Dial 35 is an unusual half-frame ‘portrait’ format camera that has a 2 hand shooting style. The protrusion at the base, is the clockwork film advance. The Canon SE 28mm, f2.8, lens is surrounded by the Cds photocells. Rotate the lens barrel to set the Seikosha shutter speed, the aperture is then set automatically. There is a manual aperture button below the viewfinder. Focus is set using a lever around the top of the lens barrel. Overall, an unusual design. A Dial 35-2 was also available.
