Very nice! My pricing formula is material costs + $25/hr my time + $5/hr shop costs (tools, consumables, electricity, etc.). Tax is included in that. Shipping is extra.

You should etch the tin lids for your wax! That would look sweet! I really want to do a craft show some day and this is a great video for someone who is mentally planning this all the time haha thank you!

I'm one of the lucky ones who actually got to see this display in-person! Great to see these tips put into practice and will use this as a guide for any shows\markets I do in the future! Also, I want to support the maker community!

I started making my own "board butter" after watching one of your videos. It was a great idea that i stole from you, lol.
Craft fairs are a tough gig! I have so many people tell me I'm too expensive, and will come back 6 months later at another show and tell me that they should've just paid what I was asking earlier. They figured out they bought a lesser item (usually a cutting board). I really enjoy your videos and do learn a ton from them! Thanks for what you're doing, and Merry Christmas!

Thanks for the informative video! Love the booth layout. I think one of the big advantages of having the video playing is enforcing that *you* actually made these items. These days it is hard to have confidence that what we're buying is even actually handmade vs shipped from overseas.

Great video! Letting customers know that you're donating is a great idea! Love that you have a screen showing the process so they can actually how much work goes into your products! I recently attended a craft fair and told most of the wood craftsmen "You're not charging enough". They all said "Yeah, I know!" Craft fairs are a tough gig. People just seem to want everything for dirt cheap. Hope you fared well in yours! Keep the great videos coming!

Tell me about crafts markets. I have a fully equipped metal and woodworking shop, don't even want to know the money in it. I can make most anything. Sawmill, big CNC, lathes, milling machines, tablesaws,38" drum sander etc. I have been doing them for a little over 2 years now. In my podunk rural area there simply not enough people that want my wares and I think I am throwing in the towel. Thinking about trying Etsy out. Take my booth fees and travel expense and try there. It would be a bigger market on paper and what I see people pay more.

A great video. Many of the things you mention I have heard at craft fairs. Your experience and solutions were very helpful thank you. Interestingly I recently attended a fair alongside my mother who was selling her baking. The delicious smells of fresh bread drew the patrons to her stall which was alongside mine. This made me think of adding a "woody" themed scent around my display. The idea being that if they cannot yet see the display, they can at least follow the aroma to it. Time will tell if this draws the customers in...

Hey Nick....GREAT video. AND and AWESOME display. I'd LOVE to do a bit with video....not having a channel but posting some short videos on our website and facebook page. I'm just not as comfortable as you seem to be.....I'm sure that has to be the teacher coming out. We've been in business for almost 3 years, and I think we need to "up" our game a bit. I've watched many of your cutting and charcuterie board videos....our first batch is done....now to sell them. I;ve started the next batch, but I think I should be doing a bit with video.....sure wish I was more comfortable in front of the camera.
AGAIN.....GREAT video....and I'll be watching for the next one.

Totally get it! My recommendation is just film most of what you do in timelapse mode so it’s already sped up. Don’t have to worry about talking, just a sped up montage of your work. Great place to start. Loads of videos out there with no taking or even voice overs.

This is an excellent and very informative video. I greatly appreciate you putting this out. You have a lot of products which is fantastic. When did you start to prepare for this and other craft shows? When should you start to prepare for these shows?

Thanks. I usually save projects throughout the year, gearing up for the holidays. Usually, I am all in by October to get things going. Late November and December shows really are the best time. I always run out of time, so I’d definitely recommend starting early.
