Initial Challenges: Relied on a finance-owned spreadsheet for hiring, which was inefficient and unsustainable as they approached hypergrowth. Spreadsheets lacked real-time data and were quickly outdated.
Manual Processes: The manual process involved multiple parties, causing delays and inaccuracies. Pivot tables and V lookups were used to manage data, but these were unreliable and time-consuming.
Dynamic Needs: Quick pivots in business required real-time information, which the spreadsheet couldn't provide. Approval flows and hiring updates were hard to track.
TeamOhana Implementation: Transitioned to using TeamOhana for a single source of truth of headcount and streamlined the process.
User Adoption: Managers are onboarded into TeamOhana, with 60-80 active users at any given time. This inclusivity has improved process efficiency and transparency.
Benefits: The new system saves time, allowing more meaningful conversations about costs and hiring decisions. It provides flexibility, real-time views, and better cost management, ensuring the right capital allocation.
Overall Impact: TeamOhana has made the hiring process more dynamic and efficient, surpassing the capabilities of traditional FP&A tools.
